    Finnigans are one hell of an operation. I watch quite a few of their videos over the last two, three years and it's just bigger than i realised. I knew they make their own meals too which is a great way of using product that shops won't take.
    Thanks for the tour, Andrew and Finnigans.

    Interesting to hear Paul say the board would come down on anyone not adhering to there standards. Red tractor should be the same!!. Hope you had a good Christmas Andrew, see you Sunday.

    Brilliant video Andrew, great to see behind the scenes of a highly impressive farming business. The way they have responded to demand for local food in making so many ready meal types of product is superb. Farmers taking control, rather than allowing 3rd parties to cream the profit off is a real lesson for the industry. The workshop is also superb, the best I've seen on any farm.
    BTW Kerrs Pink is a very old Scottish potato variety, almost only grown in Ireland cos they love a dry, fluffy potato, like Rooster is too.
    HNY to you and the gang in Lincs.

    A fascinating look into their operation. Very impressive set up. Processing machinery is always extraordinary in their invention. Thank you Andrew. It would be interesting to hear how the Irish government supports farmers and growers there. A very Happy New Year to you and to everyone, like me, who appreciate your videos.

    Hi Andrew a great video again, many years ago I use to pack potatoes in bags at a fruit and
    Local veg wholesaler. I do remember we had deliveries from companies like Clements and Spalding.
    I have also before now bought a bottle of English wine, and it has says (made with imported grape juice).
    I did even call them and , the way it works that it can be packaged here in the uk then its British🤔.

    Perhaps farmers should form into small groups to produce items in this sort of format and certify the items as Red Tractor under their own hand but subject to inspection.

    With there grading systems like these there is minimal waste as most out grades from main line have a secondary line that makes use of them and I assume that what does get used in there beef fattening unit

      The kitchen factory uses all potatoes that most companies would send for animal feed, they only have the peelings and rotten spud which go to livestock.

    Meat coming into Ireland from other countries an label Irish so not just an English problem

    • @tcod3137
      @tcod3137 Před 8 měsíci

      Well said, plenty of meat coming into Ireland and bord bia stamped! And if you remember not too long ago there was horse meat in the factories for human consumption. If a farmer did that he be closed down. Same old story doesn’t matter the country. Uk or Ireland!

      Wouldn't be surprised if It's these massive, massive companies that do it. That's my guess, just so big no one can or will touch them.

    If the European growing standards exceed red tractor , which some cases they do why complicate the system with unrecognised Marks customer s don’t recognise.Seaonal supply of the same product is impossible from one country.
