- Edit December 2023 : Here is my new arrangement bases on Cornbread :) • 4 minutes to mix funk ...
Listen and look at the chords slowly building up :)
Here is the full mix if you just want the end result : • Cornbread - Barbershop...
I was going for singing my 8-part arrangement, but I messed up and got carried away and had to add 2 more parts to complete the chord :D
Spent so many hours editing this... for just 4 minutes recording. Please tell me if it was useless to you (or useful), and if you like this type of video where each part is added one by one.

Well 8 months later, I'm back with a new arrangement of Cornbread :)
You can check it out here! czcams.com/video/YHoKwi64vDs/video.html
you actin like you didn't just completely copy tim waurick's idea without any credit
I can't believe I just watched someone sing the word cornbread 40 times in a row.
"Actually it's 39 times because the upper baritone only sang it three times" 🤓
@@L1N3R1D3R Well actually.... if the Bass sang it 4 times, then did that 9 more times, I listened to SOMEONE sing it 40 times in a row, doesn't matter which part...
@@Peasly23 Or did you hear it 4 times, then 8, then 11 (baritone), then 15... for a total of 219?
@@L1N3R1D3R Nope. They were concurrent. So I heard the word cornbread 40 times. No more. No less. Now go away and wallow in your fails.
Is this debate real :D
Amazing how each note completely changed the flavor of the cornbread. Well done sir. Well done.
Imagine walking through the woods and coming across this guy randomly singing "cornbread" into a camera with a headset on.
My mom just brought home some cornbread from a party and I keep thinking about this arrangement of the song and I can't get it out of my head!!!
out of your cornhead?
Legend has it if you walk into the middle of the woods with some freshly made cornbread, he will sing this to you…
Please don't tell everyone... I don't have any free time now that so many people walk into the middle of the woods with some freshly made cornbread
great job holding steady notes and not wavering, even when they were really low/high! keep going in life and music!
Very kind message, thank you :)
Cornbread is dry but these harmonies were JUICY
This made me smile a lot for a special reason. My first frog's name was Cornbread but she unfortunately passed less than a year after I got her due to circumstances out of my control. Thinking that this song could be about her made me smile. Thank you.
From one Kahle to a different Kale, I’m so happy you had a frog named Cornbread. I’m sorry for their passing, but keep smiling. Happy you got joy out of this like I did.
I really enjoyed singing a random bass part to this!! Thank you 😁😁😁
Great to read ! Have fun
I need a choir now so I can hear this masterpiece irl
Haha I would love to !
But if someone does, I would change a few notes first :p
As I explained in the video, I didnt't sing exactly what I had in mind at first
Edit : I uploaded the initial 8-part version I had in mind since then, #6033 on barbershoptags.com or goodtags. Have fun singing :)
Thank you all for checking out my arrangement of Cornbread !
I'm so happy you seem to like it !
Please check out my channel's other videos if you want to discover more of what I do.
At least once a week, I post a new song or tag (the end of a song), mostly in that style of vocal music called "barbershop".
Have a nice day!
Why was this so satisfying but NOW I'M HUNGRY 🌽🍞 But for real this was so fun to watch! Nice crunchy chords... yum 😋
Thanks a lot :) Bon appétit :D
What are the lyrics?
Common yellow grain, specifically when it is used to enhance the flavor of an otherwise plain and dull baked good.
I think it's one of those French Language songs idk...
this is amazing and i love it the only criticism is that this is really painful with perfect pitch since it's transcribed a halfstep above to C lmao
Haha so sorry !
It's actually originally in C, but I sang it lower accidentally
Thank you :)
@@YquemPelloMusic I see! (Now that I think about it as well, it would be a massive pain to display it in the key of B or C flat with such complicated chords...)
Yeah, I think it's inevitable for people perfect pitch (especially in vocal music), sometimes it's sung slightly off pitch, like 0 to 2 half-steps up or down
Either intentionally or not btw
@@YquemPelloMusic Absolutely! And I do think it’s simply something that we have to adapt to. (Transposing instruments are a nightmare, it’s like learning a new clef for each different key 😂). It becomes much easier overtime though (and to be honest, it’s much better to just enjoy the music, obviously. It’s awesome!).
Any chance you try some other lyrics like "watermelon sugar high"? The sound blends strangely after a few repeats.
Not in the style of Harry Styles of course :)
Let me say that I’ve probably listened to the 200 times over the last 3 weeks because of how easily it’s gotten stuck in my head. Amazing job
I'm never gunna hear the word "cornbread" the same again.
no idea how I ended up here but this was deeply satisfying- wish I'd seen it when we were picking songs for choir festival
The 2:05 resolving into a major chord was delicious!
Bohemian rhapsody ahh voice
i liked the part when he said: "cornbread"
btw... if i met you in the forest... i'd run.
Nooo ! Sing along :p
BROOO THE EXTENSIONSSS so good
When the bard needs to cast, but shipped breakfast.
Thank you for posting this, it really made my day
Not _quite_ my tempo.
But seriously, this was great. I was having a rough day but all I needed was some cornbread. ♥
:)
I don't like corn bread...
BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS.
The part where you sang a high B (the one of the ledger line) made me smile 😊
Lord , I’m speechless . Well , cornbread
dude is doing a thx intro, oh i mean cornbread intro
I need me some cornbread!!
Those are some sweet harmonies
Omg this is progression is actually so satisfying.
I’m really glad I’m not the only one that like to do stuff like this randomly. 😅
Very very cool arrangement. Yes it’s true that I fell out of my chair multiple times, but I’d love to know what software you used to make this. I’d LOVE to be able to do something like this myself (but a lot worse ofc)
Hello :) thank you !
I'm using :
- the Bandlab Android app to record (and live layer) the different parts
- another phone to record the video
- an audio editing software to mute 9 then then 8 then 7... out of the 10 parts
- a video editing software to show the video 10 times at different times and places
I encourage you to try this ! This video is my first (and only, until I recorded 2 new ones this afternoon) time filming all parts in one take, and it did take me a lot of time of video editing.
If you just go for the audio and not for the video, it will take way less time and you can still have a lot of fun !
Honestly, I'm singing this song randomly at home, my brother keep telling me to stop, but I wont, actually, I'd like to record my own version and send it to him xD. Can you tell us if is there an app that simplify the recording, or you just recorded each melody and then put it all together on a audio editor? Nice video!
I hope you'll have fun recording :) and not just cornbread!
I'm using the Bandlab Android app (it's free) for all my outdoor recordings
Love the build up man, really nice editing. It was very useful and looks really slik
Thank you ! I did spend a lot of time video editing this :D
I have been summoned...
Why have I watched this 5 times already
angelic.
Each new layer brought me to a higher level of joy and fulfilment. Thank you.
Wouldn't it just be in C minor with a Cmaj chord at the end? Also this would sound amazing as a DCI arrangement, great job!
Totally ! I thought the same as you, but I kept Roman King's (he wrote the 4-part tag initially) original choice of C major
What is DCI btw ?
@@YquemPelloMusic Drum corp international! Basically Marching band but on a way more difficult level. if you're interested in instrumentation at all then i would definitely recommend checking it out. The people who march dci are incredible musicians for only being 16-22 (i think the oldest is 22) and its insane what they can do whilst also basically running sprints around the field.
Thanks for sharing :) didn't know that
Not sure what I just witnessed but absolutely loved it
i think this is actually b minor, but this is beautiful
I can’t believe one man went into the woods and sang out the word cornbread in harmony so many goddamn times.
And then posted the video online.
But…. I’m strangely…..glad…..he did. 🤔
(PS: keep in mind-the 1st part sang cornbread 40 times. The 2nd part saying cornbread 36 times. The 3rd part sang cornbread 32 times. And so on. Do the factorial math…..)
I'm glad you're glad :p
Actually there's a whole team of mathematicians debating about how many times cornbread is sung, in another comment's thread :D
@@YquemPelloMusic Lol. A debated calculation for the ages. Well done, chico. 🤘
this one hella spicy cornbread, the hell they put in it
"you mind if I connect to the bluetooth?"
I want some cornbread
Love it! But all I can see is that bass baritone parallel 5ths lol. Not complaining i like.
Yeah I do too !
No stank face challenge (impossible)
I confirm : impossible
impressionnant !
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it' so amazing 😆👍
cornbread
Me: Mom, can we have Jacob Collier?
Mom: we have Jacob Collier at home
*the Jacob collier at home*:
Very convincing argument. I'll concede, here is a sub to your channel
Ola Gjeilo vibes for some reason
Was this video pitched down? The transcription is in C but it sounds like it's in B. (Great harmony nonetheless!)
It was written in C, but I didn't check the pitch before singing, so I was more in B as you saw :)
But it's quite common for a cappella music to be sung 1 or 2 half-steps flat or sharp (either intentionally or not btw :p), for various reasons
(Thanks !)
i liked the bit where he said corn bread
How were you able to memorise the lyrics? 🤣🤣🤣

Why is the notation a half step higher than the audio
