Hey everybody! Thanks for all your kind words on one of my proudest transcriptions I’ve ever done. If you’d like to view the full version, it’s up on my Musescore account!
this is amazing! thank you for your hardwork and i hope in life youre compensated a million times for it!
Day in mm. 149 is a C in the Bari to avoid doubling the melody.
In bar 113 when the Bb is held in the bass and you change the key signature it looks a bit strange. If sight-sung, it could be interpreted as a B-natural!
this is beautiful!
Seriously how do you do it. I’d love to be able to transcribe like this.
Man that lead singer has breath control out of this world!
what a familiar title
True
Yeah actually getting annoying
Not annoying at all! More than one thing may sound like heaven 😊
Laufey 🤝 Ringmasters
@fcturner yeah but I can't tell which video is which anymore
The untouchable homage barbershop piece. The unspoken rule with the barbershop community is that nobody can ever perform this piece ever again for competition because it would disrespect the absolute perfection that was done here by Ringmasters. A true tale of history!
Definitely an untouchable performance, but this arrangement was never done in competition. They performed it years after winning
Yes, thank you for clearing that up. I accidentally misspoke, though I do know it wasn’t in competitions.👍
This is the kind of piece that really embodies "listening louder than you sing" to ensure you blend well with your fellow singers. Masterful performance and great transcription. Bravo, bravo.
Hey I recognize you from the 8bitdrummer's comment section lol
Like, I literally hadn't heard some of the notes from the transcription before from how well the guys are burying themselves in the texture.
Finally, a full-length transcription of this masterpiece! Cheers
Thank you very much!
That moment as the Lead and Baritone are holding and the Bass slides in just as the Tenor adjusts one note higher, that last measure, it is truly one of the best musical things I've ever heard.
That second to last chord is so magical when the bass comes in on that f natural
It goes hard as fuck that dissonance crunches so hard 🔥
Every time at the end, tingles in the head for the last chord. Every time.
So many places in this piece just makes me go “YES!!” And then they surpass it a few bars over.
@@TheTivec But once you get to final post and final chord, you cannot surpass any further, except for your head to explode in ecstasy at the sheer divine brilliance of it.
OMG that is top class...my head is throbbing from absorbing all those sexy locking chords in a short space of time..Gold.
The progression from 4:07 to the key change is just so good
There's a really cool crunchy chord hidden on the word 'be' at the start of bar 159. The bass only lasts for a quarter note and it's gone almost as soon as you notice it... but it's a goodun
@@Mejoree113 had to go back and listen and youre right. Super tasty
When they hit the 'just to live one day out there' I got chiillls. This is awesome.
I have watched this several times on other channels, and I ain’t complaining. This medley is nothing but perfection.
This is the performance that introduced me into the glorious world of Barbershop. Thank you for transcribing the entire song, it's just too good :D
I’ve watched this barbershop piece at least 50 times since I discovered it a couple years ago… thank you for transcribing it George, it’s truthfully a masterpiece. That final high A that the lead hits at the end is astronomical
Same here!!
Once they started singing the first verse- holy crap
I literally still have chills
This has been a go to comfort video for me for years. Absolute masterpiece.
Same. This recording in particular is particularly exceptional, the studio version they published doesn't come close in terms of emotions and blending !
YES I LOVE THIS PIECE SO MUCH I'm very thankful for this transcription
One of the greatest Barbershop performances of all time. Endlessly grateful that you continue to share the world of Barbershop with your audience!
Ringmasters recently performed a mind blowing rendition of this piece along with an orchestra!!! Definitely recommend checking it out
I have only been waiting for a full transcription of this for SIX YEARS. bless u
5:30 that breathe control for 7 bars of 'there' is crazy.
That ending is so nice! I didn't expect that last F in the bass I'll be honest. Beautiful set-up and resolution. The last 3 bars should be Gadd9, G7add9, E-sus4, E-sus4/F, Esus4 resolving to A-major. So clean.
When someone asks me what “beautiful” means, I point them to this arrangement and performance. Thank you so deeply for sharing it to a larger audience!
“is this heaven?”
“No it’s Notre dame”
Oops time for my annual "Ringmasters Notredame medley on repeat" week! Thanks, I almost missed it.
Woah! First time hearing this, and I am blown away! The bass is spectacular!
You could tell they were really having fun with this peice 😂
Beautiful performance of an exellent arrangement!
My fav barbershop piece ever
I had the absolute privilege when I got to highschool in the show choir community 3 of my friends and I formed a barbershop quartet in 2018, and practiced for 3 years. All through covid, and for our final home show choir show we were the final spotlight act, and finally got to perform this. Holding and practicing this song over the years as the lead absolutely blasted my music ability forward, and getting to hold that high A was the most validating thing ever
i saw the actual vid a few back. i dont remember the date i saw it, but when i heard it, i remembered the song. Waltz like songs are my favorites since they are just so nice and catchy
I'm in love with this performance, so happy you decided to transcribe it! Such an iconic piece.
I feel kind of sad that the first barbershop piece I heard is apparently just the best there's ever been and I'm going to be chasing that first high forever...
She's out of my life by the ringmasters too
OMG you did the full thing! This video is the ultimate example of perfection that an human being can achieve...
been waiting for this one, awesome work as always!!!
I remember when I had to perform a few songs from hunchback for a showcase (Bells of Notre Dame and Topsy Turvy) about six months ago for a company as my final show and this brings back so many happy memories!
This channel is a delight. Wonderfull work!
BRO I WOULD LISTEN TO THIS FOR WEEKS NONSTOP A WHILE AGO. THANK YOU FOR FINALLY TRANSCRIBING ONE OF MY FAVORITE BARBERSHOP MEDLEYS!
I absolutely love this! And especially the highlight of having the bari leading this…perfection
Ok, but... the bass line is just... MUWAH💋💫
Incredible musicianship, writing and this transcript helps musically understand jey change, the process the arranger did, Even the artistic license. Thank you for doing this incredible transcription. Hope to see many more from you in the future.
Incredible singing! Dan, I have subscribed to your channel. I love seeing the transcription--so well done, thank you!!!
They're all very impressive, I'm especially impressed by the tenor!
Hell yeah i was waiting for you to do this one!!!!!
So glad you transcribe this piece
Absolutely beautiful
Those slides by the lowest vocalist are fantastic :O
This is the sort of thing that reminds me heaven wont be bad
Jeeeeez that's impressive. I love to sing as much as anyone, but the idea of performing something like this as a quartet is so exposed, it's terrifying.
When I was younger I woke up early every Christmas to open presents. Now I just wake up early to hear the godly carol singers that’s on in the early morning on BBC.
This is beautifully done. You should do The Newfangled Tango next
wow i actually didn't knew of this masterpiece before this video!!! Amazing holy shit! Also I'm a sucker for bass and this dude was a blessing to listen to
i waited a looooong time for this one
BRAVO!!! There is truly NOTHING like the beauty, the wonder, and the sonic magnificence of acapella!
i believe this is a surprising coincidence. i have been listening to this every day recently and now we have this full transcription
Man I rewatched this more than 20 times
Nothing less than awesome. Thanks.
Listened to this on repeat two summers ago- the Ringmasters are OUTSTANDING!
Thank you for share!
They are amazing.
How beautiful
That ending ... epic!! Too beautiful!!!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE BEFORE GEORGE COLLIER WAS A CHANNEL
yoooooooooooooooooooooooo the false ending makes the real ending so much more epic
Sublime! Whoa Im in goosebumps!
Literal chills
this is one of the best things i have eber seen in mylife im going insane
I love this video, I've listened to it so many times and it's great every time.
I'm gonna be that guy... tenor part, bar 218 beat 4 sounds like a G. Bar 220 beat 4 also seems to be a G in the tenor. But fantastic work as always!
Thank you very much! I’m the one who transcribed it and in my original transcription that’s up on Musescore, I marked them as G#’s.
I’ve listened to that ending at least 10 times now!! 🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️
Badassery. Great work :)
Majestic performance
Awesome!!
Oh my GOD I LOVE THIS MUSICAL
amazing
wow so long, this must have been a lot of work! nice
Gorgeous. Let's see how it will blow the algorithms up.
beatiful
there's no way George just transcribed the wholeass thing. absolute king among men
He did not. Take a look at the description.
@@erbsengruetze LOL fair enough
That would be me! I transcribed this for fun and then performed with 3 other friends in college.
@@DanSatter absolute legend! do you by chance have a video of you performing this in college? I'd be interested to hear different groups' takes on it :D
Okay that title just makes me think of a good place attempt where in heaven everyone has a barbershop quartet following them around providing an angelic chorus. And it probably lasted less time than the spoken jazz masterpiece.
straight tingles lads
I’m certain that if you put a photo of any barbershop quartet in front of me and I would be able to tell you which one is the bass just based on how they look
I just witnessed the barber shop quartet transformed back to a more pure form. Never before have I seen such a theatrical quartet display
i got chills ehehe
I got goosebumps...
Definetily my favourite video in the intetnet
I love these guys!
Ooh that lead is so good
GOOSEBUMPS AT THE END!!!
Guy second from the right is the straight up CHAMPION!
LET'S GO MORE RINGMASTERS AND IT'S THE FULL THING!!!!!
sounds colorful
4:43 key change goes hard
At 2:47 you can HEAR the audience holding their breath
That ending was powerful
Yo George if you see this could you do 3 and a half men’s “over the rainbow” from this year’s barbershop competition? Some really juicy harmony going on
that’s crazy
You're only allowed to use this title for Laufey's transcription lol
I was looking for this. Where is she??
no, that pop crap can thankfully stay away.
I appreciate her music, but man your idea of heaven is awfully slow and morose
I thought they were gonna burst into Hellfire there.
Man I love Chanticleer. Their Shenandoah and O Frondens Virga are insane
Man, who knew that Lewis from Meet The Robinsons has such range! Truly astounding.
