Is EcoFlow Delta Better Than Your Gas Generator? (Full Review & Specs)

- The EcoFlow delta is an industry-leading portable power station that I believe is a better alternative to a traditional gas generator for most homeowners. With the ability to charge from your wall outlets, solar panels, or even your car, I think it is a must-have for any homeowner who wants to be prepared for emergency situations.

*Seems like a good solar **Generater.Systems** . I have not had to put it to the test yet in a situation without power but it has seemed to operate fine so far.*
I bought solar technology and accessories with my stimulus checks after two direct hits by hurricanes. I got my checks late in the year so I knew what I needed to get with them. It`s great knowing nobody can ever turn off my electricity again. I can now cook, run lights, and fans directly from solar without batteries, keep all my various batteries charged, and keep my food refrigerated and power my WIFI with power stations. I bought a cheap gas generator for charging on cloudy days that`s just powerful enough to run a tiny window air conditioner with a soft start compressor.
One thing I love about the Delta is the very fast recharging. In less than two hours it's back to 100%.
YES! YES IT IS! The Ecoflow Delta Pro is much better than this and is expandable to 25KW and can power an entire home. Its the most powerful portable solar generator in the world. Its even better than the Titan solar generator.
Looks like a great product, will take a closer look
I already made the switch to the Delta a few months back. Best decision ever.
I have yamaha ef2000 gas generator and during a storm I don't always like going outside to set it up. These batteries can be used indoors so I set them up on fridge and freezers and wait for storm to calm down before I set up the gas generator outside.
Scored one of these about a month ago and put it through it's paces.
It is good for most indoor tasks and applications but solar for the most part, just doesn't have the mustard for the more demanding applications yet.
We got a LOT of square footage here... And as bougy as it sounds, we don't like sweating in the summer. Lol We have a 10,000 watt Duromax gas genny to run AC window units, the friges and freezers. The Ecoflow Delta 1300 that was reviewed above, can run only one frige or freezer for a short time. We can also use the gas genny to quickcharge the Ecoflow and the other solar unit as well. We have 300 watts of solar panels but weather is unpredictable.
The key to this? As mentioned above, is access to a LOT of treated, stored gasoline, which we have. I rotate that treated gas every year.
Great power station! However, if you can't afford this one, Ecoflow has the " River Max" which I have and highly recommend.
I agree that with the gas generator you kinda guess how long it's gonna last but with the Delta it shows how long will the power last.
One thing not mention here is that : Battery do go bad. After roughly 2 years ( of heavt cycling or not ), the battery efficiency will drop to 80%. The older it gets, even not used, it will continue to degrade.
It is a very good system, however over the years it will loose some of is effiency, and so, even not used
Looks Cool.
spell check on thumbnail
I`d say get a backup gas generator to charge this on cloudy days.
Agreed! Being that it charges so quickly, a gas powered generator would be ideal for fast charging the delta.
A hybrid car, with an inverter added, would do well for that role.
Excellent idea!
From what Iâve read right away this brand is better than the jackery products because the panels are waterproof and they come a carrying case.
Compared to my old Honda EU2200i which weighs at around 22lbs, the Delta is very light at 14kgs.
Where is it made??
If only I had a deep cycle battery and an inverterâŠâŠoh I do and I have an extra $800.
ONLY 8.2k VIEWS???????????????
Can this run a fridge, freezer, lamp, cpap machine and heat or AC,at the same time? Thank you, in advance.
Not even close. This is only 1400 watts. Great for charging little things and powering very small items.
It definitely runs bigger things like a fridge, blender, ac, cpap, etc. Unlikely that it can all of those at once
It's very quiet compared to the gas generator which is rather noisy.
all made in China of course, can you review the Goal Zero one?
I have a Goal Zero. I like it very much.
I'm in Middle Tennessee and for whatever reason, we are always loosing power for hours on end; last year we lost power for almost a week. I have a 9.5K Continuous (12K Peak) gas generator that I have to plug into my home. I can run my entire house, except my 10K A/C compressors (which I wouldn't need in an emergency anyway). We store our fuel with Stabil stabilizer in it (which keeps it good for more than a year) and I've built a "dog house" that we can put our generator in that blocks 95% of the noise from the generator while it's running. I understand the negatives of having a gas/propane generator but for my family, the positives outweigh the negatives by far!
Can't do any of that on an electric 1400 watt generator.
@@donuchosanchz82 and what happens when you canât get fuel???
Maybe not store it at 100% as you suggested. Store it at 90% and only charge it to 100% if you know you'll be using it in the near future.
Genuinely curious as to why?
@@phannebaum the battery chemistry is lithium ion. Studies have shown, and typically manufacturers recommend, that it is (harmful) for this chemistry to be stored long term at 100% or at 0%. From the research I've done, most recommend this chemistry be stored somewhere near the middle 30-70%, but probably not harmful to be kept in upwards of 80-90%.
Basically, the battery pack will last longer if kept within manufacturers' recommended ranges.
No disrespect meant but I do not agree. Being a seasoned Prepper we have a stocked 2000 sq ft home. 3 fridges, 3 freezers, furnace and central AC etc⊠no fancy battery bank is keeping me up and running but my 12,000 watt genny willâŠ
Sadly, unavailable, with no back in stock date. Disadvantage to any microchip device.
That's not true I just bought two there in stock
On sale at REI right now
Do not buy. I ordered a delta and it didn't work right out of box. I was told they wouldn't return it and it needed a firmware update which would be 4 weeks. That's great for emergency use. Not!!!!
Great power station! However, if you can't afford this one, Ecoflow has the " River Max" which I have and highly recommend.
A couple of car batteries, a little jiggery pokery and voilĂĄ. A much cheaper alternative.
@@nox3335 yeah true, but not practical for transport ( if that's what you need it for).
