Don't listen to this shill for Wise freeze dried buckets of food claiming 60 servings. He's full of crap if he really thinks that's 60 servings. Wise has already gotten exposed for under estimating what a true serving size is. Other rip off companies selling buckets do the same thing. Frankly put together your own buckets. Fire (heat) does NOT purify water. It may "sterilise" it, but that is a quite different process. Purified water will probably still need to be sterilised. Know the difference.

With reguards to water most people in houses forget about their hot water tank as a water source. If you isolate that water early (or better yet before) a shelter in place situation you have a big source of potable water already in your house that you dont have to worry about expiring or maintaining (byond notmal hot water tank maintenance obviously).

If I put everything into my bugout bag that people recommend as "essential", I would literally not be able to carry the bag out the front door. Even just 2 quarts of water is a lot of weight and space.

I'm sure you don't need to include a deck of cards in your emergency stash. There will be plenty of things to do in the whole of your house, including decks of cards.

One year i waited too late to get hurricane supplies and all that was left were those "Jesus" candles. I wouldn't recommend them as they dont throw off much light. I brought it to the bathroom and couldn't see anything except a tiny flickering light

I run a DD frontline hammock, very recommendable. I also use a blow up sleeping pad for insulation and comfort. I usually bring a chair with me. I will always either hang up my backpack on a tree or put it on the chair when I go to sleep. Works pretty well. Also to keep my boots bug free I tie them in a knot and hang them off of my hammock.

How do Hennessey compare with Wise Owl Outfitters hammock? I'm not a hammock camper yet.

Can't really compare a single hammock to a double hammock that comes with a tarp and everything needed. A better comparison would be the hanging high hammocks weekender bundle that is 70 bucks for everything the hennesy comes with and is a double hammock like the hennesy. The two you used are like comparing apples to oranges.

Due to loosing electricity, be sure to include a can opener. Unplug all your outlets. Fill your garbage can with water as you will need the water to flush the toilets. Do not leave your car parked under a tree. Hope this is helpful.

I agree with the information but I feel like the bonus info and the mosquitos and other animals near water all could have been covered by the 5th “W”. Thats what drew me to this video is because I have always been taught “The 5 W’s”. The 5th W is “Wildlife” which includes all aquatic aninmals, mosquitos, raccoons, deer, etc. other than that though the video was great all in all. 🤙🏻

Ramen noodles are OK but mostly empty calories. Why not beans and rice? One thing to keep in mind regarding survival food... freeze-dried food takes a lot of water to rehydrate it so have extra water available. In addition, a lot of that survival food requires extra cooking, not just adding hot water so having the ability to cook is important. Thanks for taking the time to help people realize that prepping is vital but doesn't have to be expensive.

Hydrogen Peroxide, rubbing alcohol, dry shampoo, baby wipes, crank up radio with a usb charger, eggs, cans of lentil, tuna, chicken, soup, usb charged toothbrush, deodorant just to name a few. I keep my emergency stash all together with the exception of eggs- I also keep a Marino wool blanket, a tent, 6 bright light led lanterns and gallons of water. I also have a usb charged fan, a first aid kit. I have learned from several blackouts & ice storms- a generator would be great but, they are thousands of $$$$! Batteries are a must, but, be careful of 9volt batteries as they can cause fires- a fire extinguisher. I guess that is about all- oh I almost forgot. 30 gal trash bags. Glass spray bottle with white vinegar- great for cleaning dishes when water is not available, later plates, bowls & paper towels. Keep safe & healthy. PS: I just added a usb charged thermos that can heat up liquids and a lunch box that not only can heat up meals but cook them as well. Make sure you have enough food and a warm shelter for your pups as well as plenty of wee wee pads.i just saw a portable electric pan but can’t tell if it is usb chargeable- I do know truck drives use them to cook their food. Of all the things I don't understand is the absolute tiny tarp so many youtubers seem to use when hammock camping. It does nothing against the wind. It slightly protects against the rain. But man... The rain here goes sideways. a few weeks ago I was hammock camping and a unexpected storm went through. I was really happy to have a sturdy tarp with loads of protection then. Put in the ear buds and pray that the tarp will hold until morning and go to sleep.

I have used Sterno, or store brands of food warmer fuel cans for heating up canned foods. I sat the heating fuel can in a table-top grill and set the food grate above it. Then heated the food in a sauce pan. After cooking, replace the lid on the fuel to preserve the rest for the next meal. Gordon's Food Service has them in a six pack fairly cheap, and they also have glass votives with candles, as well as replacement candles. If you do preps on a larger scale, they can get 50 pound bags of dry beans if you ask. They also carry 25 pound bags of flour, salt, and sugar. 👍 Good luck out there.
