Hey guys, don't forget to dislike the video if the list isn't exactly your 15 best movies. Because that's logical and is exactly what you should do. Remember to keep seeking out validation for your opinions and you'll always be happy.
I searched for "The Handmaiden Review" on youtube, and this came up, but there seems to be no mention of it here. Is it because someone mentioned it in the comments?? Is it in the tags? Or am I deaf and he did actually mention it...
Joshua Price That's why I'm actually excited about Blade Runner sequel. Ryan and Denis had great couple of years, more importantly, they work really well together. Blade Runner 2049 just might be as good as Blade Runner, too early to say, but the expectations are not false. Although it is too hard to get to the perfection Blade Runner is..
Same could be said to video games only the independent games are actually committed to try something new as oppose to the aaa games like Ubisoft and ea and WB games.

I bought "the Nice Guys" on blu ray as soon as it was available in stores, I absolutely love it to death, such a shame how it tanked at the box office.
Just bought and watched Your Name solely from this recommendation, despite my hesitation towards anime, and I have to say that I loved it. Thanks Chris, I would have completely passed it over otherwise, and now it sits on my highlight shelf.
There's a very high chance that it will win the most Oscars, so I wouldnt undersell La La Land. It may not make as much money as star wars, but I bet it will be remembered in the years to come.
A quick list if you don't have time Honorable Mentions: Hell or High Water Hunt for the Wilderpeople Sing Street Kubo and the Two Strings Fences 10 Cloverfield Lane The actual list: 15. The Witch 14. It's still my favorite movie of the year, and I just was wondering if your opinion of it somehow changed over time.

My Top 16: 1) La La Land 2) Manchester by the Sea 3) Moonlight 4) 20th Century Women 5) Silence 6) The Handmaiden 7) Paterson 8) Arrival 9) Everybody Wants Some!! 10) The Lobster 11) The Neon Demon 12) Nocturnal Animals 13) Hunt for the Wilderpeople 14) Elle 15) The Mermaid 16) Love & Friendship
Kubo is by far the most beautiful piece of cinema in a while. Not only is it the best animated film since The Lion King, but it is also a modern day Kurosowa film. It is amazing that an American studio could make a truly original Japanese film.
1) Hacksaw ridge 2) Nice guys 3)Mancester by the sea 4) Swiss army man 5) la la land 6) hell or high 7) deadpool 8)eddie the eagel 9)nocturnal animals 10)zootopia
Great list! I'm writing down all the films in your best of lists that I haven't seen. It's so nice to see love for The Nice Guys. I suppose this (and Blade Runner 2049 and others) is why we can't have nice things. I love Shane Black. I hope we live in a universe where we get to see sequels to this.
both of those movies deserve to be on that list....srsly. but no...there are "heartwarmers" and "musicals" that obviously deserved better to be there -.- i dont get it.
i'm not a blind fanboy man! -.- Rogue One was a surprising flick that changed how star wars movies usually are told. it broke records and was LOVED by the audience, even more than Episode 7!
Of course he is not a critic, lol, he does not even pretend to be one. Chris is not a critic either. They are just normal people who watch a lot of movies and then give their explanations why they like something or why not.....
I really liked 'Lion' The acting was amazing and the story telling really was great and made me even cry at the end. The middle got kind of boring to be honest but overall it is an amazing movie in my eyes
@@FaZaFurhod Yeah isn't that the point of the movie?? what are you talking about? It's basically like a character being sad and yet as audiences you have to feel that character's feeling. Where's the boring in that??
Watched the nice guys with a friend. They enjoyed it a fair amount but I found it amazing. I couldn't shut up about it and they couldn't understand why. It's so well timed as a movie. Every line comes at just the right moment. I love it.
I saw The Nice Guys on a flight from Australia to Norway and when the lady asks "I'm so confused, does that mean my daughter is dead?" and Gosling, tired of having to tell her time and time again angrily shouts "YES!" I laughed out loud on the airplane. That movie rules and the best action movie of 2016.
10- Swiss Army Man 9- Silence 8- Manchester by the sea 7- Hacksaw Ridge 6- The Nice Guys 5- Sing Street 4- Hell or Highwater 3- Arrival 2- La La Land 1- Nocturnal Animals
Nice Guys finish last that's why I treat you like trash that's not what I really want to do. oooooh but you only date bad guys that's why I give you my last try to treat you the way you want me to.
Randomly was recommended this video. You really can’t make a best movies of 2016 list without having seen what Hindi cinema did that year. Dangal, Neerja, Pink, Udta Punjab were all absolutely stellar movies that are easily among, if not the, best movies that year.

Max Nobel I'm honestly so surprised The Handmaiden isn't in Chris top 15 or in honorable mentions!
Max Nobel YES QUEEN THE NEON DEMON
Thanks for uploading Chris, we all really need this right now 😭
coryinthehouse Mmhhmmm
coryinthehouse 😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Never even heard of "The Nice Guys" thanks for the tip. it was SUCH a good movie.
Videos like this make my morning shits so smooth
Hopefully The Nice Guys will be on the list, it is such an overlooked film...
YES!!!!!!!
Arturo Lares Something tells me you saw the entire video before making this comment... 😂😂😂
Ryan Gosling kicked ass this year!
NickNicholas Ryan Gosling kicks ass every year! But this year he definitely stepped his game up.
He really did.
NickNicholas Represent the red and white... Canada
NickNicholas hopefully he keeps kicking ass next year in blade runner!
NickNicholas he always does
Your Name is my favorite movie to date, animated or not. It was so good...
The Nice Guys was a blast and I just rewatched it last night too😀
Edit : Definitely need a sequel
That specific suit makes me think that The Nice Guys will be number one..
Guess I got a sharp eye
Connor Webb Take this W
R.I.P Carrie Fisher
The force will be with you… always.
I was surprised hell or high water is not in the top 15
I'm just listening to your reviews while cleaning. love it
I absolutely LOVE The Nice Guys!!! So Glad it is on the list!
Cody case I felt like the only person who saw the movie and love it until Chris said he loved it.
JONATHAN PINZON I thought the same, hopefully more people watch the nice guys now!
Kubo and the Two Strings is very underrated and it will remain forever in my heart.
Kubo is by far the most beautiful piece of cinema in a while. Not only is it the best animated film since The Lion King, but it is also a modern day Kurosowa film. It is amazing that an American studio could make a truly original Japanese film.
Marcos Kain it was great... but I wouldn't consider it THAT good. I had a few problems with it. Just my opinion
1) Hacksaw ridge
2) Nice guys
3)Mancester by the sea
4) Swiss army man
5) la la land
6) hell or high
7) deadpool
8)eddie the eagel
9)nocturnal animals
10)zootopia
And rogue one sux
Great list! I'm writing down all the films in your best of lists that I haven't seen. It's so nice to see love for The Nice Guys. I suppose this (and Blade Runner 2049 and others) is why we can't have nice things. I love Shane Black. I hope we live in a universe where we get to see sequels to this.
i love " your name " man. that film was very touching
Do not many people like Doctor Strange? I thought it was good enough for at least an honourable mention and rogue one?
both of those movies deserve to be on that list....srsly. but no...there are "heartwarmers" and "musicals" that obviously deserved better to be there -.- i dont get it.
+Sergeant Cyro Blind fanboy.
i'm not a blind fanboy man! -.- Rogue One was a surprising flick that changed how star wars movies usually are told. it broke records and was LOVED by the audience, even more than Episode 7!
But its Chris's opinion tho... Broken records & happy fans don't mean shit to him if he just wasn't feeling it
...just sayin'
Sergeant Cyro true
You always make those movies phenomenal by your reviews.
"If you are a fan of the film They Live, well then you know that a fight scene with keith david is a pretty awesome thing to see."
Anyone else just came from Jeremy Jahn's top 10 worst list?
Of course he is not a critic, lol, he does not even pretend to be one. Chris is not a critic either. They are just normal people who watch a lot of movies and then give their explanations why they like something or why not.....
Finally, it's almost over. 2016 can go to my past gladly.
I really liked 'Lion'
The acting was amazing and the story telling really was great and made me even cry at the end. The middle got kind of boring to be honest but overall it is an amazing movie in my eyes
I think the middle was boring because the character was frustrated and we were supposed to feel his frustration
@@FaZaFurhod Yeah isn't that the point of the movie?? what are you talking about? It's basically like a character being sad and yet as audiences you have to feel that character's feeling. Where's the boring in that??
Lion came nowhere close to actual Indian movies from that same year. Dangal, Neerja, Udta Punjab, and Pink were much better
Watched the nice guys with a friend. They enjoyed it a fair amount but I found it amazing. I couldn't shut up about it and they couldn't understand why. It's so well timed as a movie. Every line comes at just the right moment. I love it.
Sing Street is my fav of the year!
same here!
PersianMonkeyStudios Ditto
Anyone else notice that Chris doesn't have braces in the thumbnail?
IncorporatedOps wtf
He sometimes recycles his thumbnail pictures, this one was probably taken before he got braces
IncorporatedOps ayy p1 too sweet!
Whatever, it's no big deal
I saw The Nice Guys on a flight from Australia to Norway and when the lady asks "I'm so confused, does that mean my daughter is dead?" and Gosling, tired of having to tell her time and time again angrily shouts "YES!" I laughed out loud on the airplane. That movie rules and the best action movie of 2016.
10- Swiss Army Man
9- Silence
8- Manchester by the sea
7- Hacksaw Ridge
6- The Nice Guys
5- Sing Street
4- Hell or Highwater
3- Arrival
2- La La Land
1- Nocturnal Animals
Why didn't you put 9 lives in the list?
It's the best film I have ever seen
I'm joking
How can you be joking? I'd give the movie 10/10. It was beautiful.
Jimmy Infamous ha
Jimmy Infamous it a amazing film
Jimmy Infamous i really loved the effects, way better than rouge one and civil war. blows em out da water
nine lives is so good that it makes me suicidal knowing that i can never make anything as perfect as nine lives in my entire lifetime
not joking
That's a nice suit you got there Chris, can I borrow it? I'm kidding, it's to big
Atur Dud too big for him or too big for you?
Atur Dud too*
Atur Dud the unironed collar was driving me crazy through out the video
Blündi Lemeo Well, Chris is like 6' 4" sooo...
The Nice Guys is one of the funniest films I've ever seen and I loved it! The soundtrack is fantastic too
Thank u for recommending Your Name I was blown away by this stunning touching and funny film i believe its a must see!!
Nice Guys finish last that's why I treat you like trash that's not what I really want to do. oooooh but you only date bad guys that's why I give you my last try to treat you the way you want me to.
Anton Riley Are you referring to that one song that Ryan Higa made? In that case, Hey, that's pretty good
Moron Productions yeah when Chris said Nice Guys bombed in the box office it made me think of that.
Anton Riley ill never open the door
Did you think he was quoting the lyrics verbatim and not meaning to reference the song? I think you answered your own question
Anton Riley Lamps squad.
glad he mentioned 10 cloverfield lane and the witch!! great films.
The Witch was my #4.
Randomly was recommended this video. You really can’t make a best movies of 2016 list without having seen what Hindi cinema did that year. Dangal, Neerja, Pink, Udta Punjab were all absolutely stellar movies that are easily among, if not the, best movies that year.
I loved The Boy and the Beast! I'm so glad you included it!
