      Basically the idea is that these Gods are US - the constant interaction between Humans and Gods in these religions - Hinduism is the same way - is telling us that Gods are not people living in some magic lands full of magic powers - they are US and we can aspire to be Gods
      That is the goal of Hinduism - Aham Brahmasmi - I am God!
      To be the Savior, not the Saved

      Greeks, sadly chose to be Slaves instead - down on their knees, begging and groveling for mercy and hoping for a reward - the easy good life of the weak - protected, sheltered, comforted, fed & clothed, kept away from facing real life - Heaven!
      We are going the opposite ways - the Greek religion and Hindu religion imploring us to move on up - take the hand of God, whereas religions like Christianity & Islam move us downward - literally down on our knees, helpless damsels, "He is coming any day now"!
      Hinduism says if such a helpless life is what you want then you will be reborn as a Tree or a Dog - what does a Dog do all day? Nothing! Eats, poops and Sleeps - zero work! Zero responsibilities! Heaven!

    I love that this is about Percy, but everyone focuses on Medusa. Poor guy is treated like he's the villain, when, if you think about it, his actions did more good than harm. Medusa might have died, but she was finally freed from her torment, her Goddess had forgiven her, and two heroes were born from her death. In ancient times, killing someone cursed by the Gods on the orders of said Gods was considered an act of forgiveness. Some adaptions have Percy feeling sympathy for Medusa too.

    • @matthewdrexler188
      @matthewdrexler188 Před rokem +1

      That's why the second commandment was made. Serving anything under the force behind absolutely everything will just create an imbalance due to the fact any 1 god will lead you down a finite path and sometimes it just doesn't work out for you because of the imbalance, and because these singular aspects of nature are but a piece of infinity.
      So its best to put your faith in the fabric of consciousnesses all people aswell as all gods belong to. You will find more correct pathways to follow.
      Medusa worshiped Athena who represented just 1 aspect of all of creation so therefore by ignoring other aspects of God she was simply used by the limited scope available to her that she chose to see.
      The second commandment isn't just about jealousy its more of a warning. like hay if you put your faith in this particular things anything short of complete universal consciousness (yaway) spelled wrong here. You might find yourself in a situation you wouldn't have otherwise since this one god is selfish and only really serves themself and their particular cause. In medusas case it was the jealousy she made Athena feel due to her not being completely conscious of anything but Athena.

    Danäe’s story is possibly a precursor to the story of Rapunzel because in both tales, a maiden is locked in a high tower away from all contact but a male lover manages to enter and as a result, the girl becomes pregnant and is taken from the tower and left for dead, except Danäe and her son Perseus were thrown into the river while Rapunzel and her twins were abandoned in the wilderness.

    Clash of the Titans really made my actual undersanding of this myth really hard as they changed so much for no decernable reason. But at the same time each retelling is part of the story. There is no real source truth. The eternal wish to try to undersand our origins so worthwhile.

  • @bushcraftandastronomer.3775

    After seeing the movie clash of the titans 1981 I asked a Greek woman who I knew in early 1980s if she believed in Greek mythology and she says I was brought up with Greek mythology from my grandmother and she was brilliant telling the stories of Greek myths.
    Perseus was placed in the night sky and he is up there along with Andromeda and Cassiopia for all to see.
    Greek mythology is so interesting. Feel sorry for medusa as she treated bad. Still clash of the titans film was very good!
