17:48 I heard that Calisto was one of Artemis'es Maiden and her favorite of them all. She was tricked by Zeus (who transformed into Artemis) to do *you guess what* and was forced to bear his child. She felt guilty for being taken advantage of and tried to hide the fact to Artemis. When she found out, she punished her. Not for breaking her vow (because it wasn't her fault) but for lying to her and not trusting her enough to set her free. So as a punishment, she made her into a bear and told her that if she sees her again, she'll hunt her.

Reminder, Hera originally did everything in her power to avoid Zeus because she could see what a scumbag he was. Zeus then tricked Hera, basically assaulted her, then blackmailed her into marrying him. As the Goddess of Marriage she cannot and could not get out of her marriage.
She has only ever attempted to personally punish Zeus once. She formed a revolt alongside Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, and attempted a coup d'etat against Zeus. Zeus was saved by a body guard, quickly dispatched the other gods, then hung Hera with golden chains in the sky. She cried in pain all night. Zeus then told her she'd be released if no more rebellions or make direct actions against him. She agreed and was released. The only thing she can do now is punish anyone who violates the "sanctity" of her marriage but not Zeus himself. Can you imagine being stuck in an eternal relationship like that?

Unfortunately, Hera caused them to go mad and they nearly killed Dionysus, who was rescued by Hermes and taken to the Greek Goddess, Ino for Fostering. Hermes told Ino to raise Dionysus as a female, to protect him from Hera. This is why in many statues depicting the God, he has feminine features.

Athena can never get used to it, which is kinda the reason she transformed Arachne, she was grossed out by a tapestry showing her dad and uncle banging random chicks.

People say Hera should've gone after Zeus but the thing is, Hera is not only the queen of gods but also the goddess of marriage. She has to stay loyal to her husband and she has to be only with him. That is why other gods and goddesses might sleep with many mortals but Hera doesn't. Hades stays loyal to Persophone but even he had affairs for a long time

How bizarre is this fact that abduction in Greek mythology is taken so casually while it is portrayed as an act of evil in the Indian mythology and those who tried to play with women's dignity saw their folks defeated and their kingdom turned into ashes no matter how powerful they were, in the Indian mythology.
I'm sorry if i sound rude but saw a lot of women in Greek mythology suffering without any fault and they even ended up accepting this as their fate. Eg.- lilth turning into medusa, Persephone's abduction!
