    • @Lumencraft-
      @Lumencraft-  Před 4 lety

      It could be either, but to me that sounds like a driver malfunction. If you can power the light on and jump straight to turbo and it does not shut off it is probly not the battery. Some times a batter protection circuit can case a problem with the light shutting off, but typically if you can jump to turbo and run it that is not the problem.

Came back the next day and found it had burnt up one of the cells. I can't say for sure, but I suspect it's a driver issue. If the cells had been put in wrong I would have known instantly. I have it and it does not do it. So I modified it with a XHP70.2 2P 1A DEDOMED LED @ 12v x 8amp + water cooled. Now it is still less than the GT.

    The MF04 HP 35 vrs the MFO4S HP70 I’d have to say the HP35 does way better and gets a farther throw and better battery life. I do agree that the battery cartridge in the BLF is better designed but I’m willing to bet Astrolux can redesign them if they wanted to. I just ordered the HP 35 because I wasn’t impressed with the HP 70 in the Astrolux. That dedomed Acebeam was pretty impressive.

      You really should use high drain unprotected cells for high output flashlights. Google "eu nkon" - it's a dutch store that ships lithium batteries to Sweden for reasonable prices, they sell the "Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mAh - 15A button top" which is a popular choice. Just be careful when you are using unprotected lithium cells (know what you are doing!), use a good quality charger that will keep track of temperatures and terminate voltages correctly (max 4.20v).

    I just got my MFO4 today and love it. Use the coupon and it is by far the better buy. The
    BLF-GT is nice but they sent me a very warm, 4K LED and I was very unhappy they did that. I was expecting the Cool White, like in the videos but got a warm thrower and it's not as impressive as the cool white, also, they charged 58 bucks extra for the strap, that also came with a very flimsy case and head cover, as if right off the sidewalk of Bangkok, both good ideas but they are worth maybe 10 dollars, not 58, to send them back, cost 130. so I am not happy about that whole purchase other than it is a very well made light, but a "Budget light"? It's not that. This Astrolux is the way to go, 90% the same but way less expensive, got it in a week.
    Mine is not an "S" model, mine has no dome, so it may be throwing even better than the one tested here. I got the Cool White and love it. Side by side, I could go with either one, but I would chose the Astrolux, with the coupon, it's about 100 bucks less and you can order cool white and get it, and they give you the five dollar strap with the light. They get how to treat customers. These big lights need a strap and you should not be charged over 50 bucks to get it. These lights are great out on the water, looking for markers just got way easier and safer. I'll use them both and won't care witch one I pick up, both fantastic lights.

      Mine has no dome, not that I can see and I looked a close as I can, No dome on either one, the MFO4 or the BLF GT. Ok, I just realized my light is not an "S" model and maybe that makes the difference, because I don't see a domed LED on my MFO4.
      It throws fantastic, the interface is great, the only thing I don't like is that you need to hold down the button for a second to turn it off and none of my other lights are like that, so I'm always turning it to the lowest setting, then turning it off, no biggie.

      @saiiiiiii1 Před 5 lety

      All XHP70.2 have domes from factory, so the MF04S and BLF GT70. Maybe hardly visible due to the giant reflector and therefor big distance between the front glass and the actual LED. The regular MF04 and BLF GT have a XHP35 HI LED, these are indeed domeless.

      Ce sa aleg intre astrolux mf04s si mf04 ? M-a impresionat olight-ul sr52ut al unui prieten, vede pe distanta mare, are un punct mai concentrat fiind throver, insa thorfire s70s al meu cand dau pe turbo da o lumina mult mai puternica, insa nu are un punct asa concentrat si vede cu vreo 200-250m mai putin. Vreau ceva care sa fie si puternic si sa vada pe distanta mare. Foarte grea decizia :(

    G*d damn what a spot light! I don’t think it’s a rip off... so they both have huge reflectors, big deal. But why didn’t Astrolux use the battery carrier with the gold end plates from the MF01 and 02?! They are sooo much nicer!
