#WandaVision #Explained #WhatsThePoint - Krátké a kreslené filmy
What's the point of WandaVision?
idk
Shut up
It was as inconsequential as captain marvel
Explore Wanda's grief after EG.
it's up there.. but is the story finished 🤔
The stages of grief is simple enough, but pairing it with the evolution of TV from idealism to realism is brilliant. Best analysis of the overall plot I've seen on CZcams.
couldn't have said it any better
Can Actually Work
Can we just agree that without Agatha pushing Wanda into "therapy", she wouldn't solve her trauma and would still be in the hex?
That kind of touches on the comics a bit. Agatha was more neutral than anything and actually a mentor to the Scarlet Witch.
I still think Agatha was there to forge Scarlet Witch and not really fight her.
@@jaym8927 i doubt so. she seemed hungry for wanda’s powers and when wanda tricked her and got all her powers back including agatha’s, she became the scarlet witch and agatha seemed scared therefore saying, “you don’t know what you’ve done.”
@@elijahbrothers14 oh :) thats nice
Agatha seemed to have gotten shafted as bad as the residents of Westview, she didn't seem to deserve what she got in the end. What was Agatha even doing in the hex? Was she living in Westview when Wanda created the hex? Was she Jimmy's witness protection case? And talking about people getting shafted, how was the director of SWORD even in the wrong? The Vision in the Hex was a fake, what Wanda was doing was actually wrong, he actually told Wanda they were decommissioning Vision when she showed up. The only thing he could be wrong about was activating Vision again against his orders, but the show already made him to be the villain before he ever did that.
"For the Children" seems to be the town agreeing to not fight back against Wanda because she has all the children held hostage somewhere.
Fighting back is not a choice for them, they don't control it
@@willybigp Well they can put input. "Stop it!" Or any time anyone goes "what do you want Wanda?" type moments.
@@JJSMJ i think that was agatha's influence as they didn't ask that in the beginning, but fighting Wanda's influence was not an option for them
@@willybigp I think they need to clarify that...I believe Debra Jo Rupp was definitely pleading with Wanda to save her husband when he was choking.
@@JJSMJ you mean in the first episode?
First off it showed how talented both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are. It took such an unusual premise and made it work.
Oh and It built up the backstory of Wanda which was needed and it provided insight into her grief and love. We also got some unforgettable Vision quotes. Everything else is just gravy.
I dunno.. flashback right after pietro died and she had full on American accent. Seems they just decided to gloss over it with jokes about her accent rather than actually trying to get her to learn it. Lazy actress is lazy.
@@mekkiepoo she had no accent in the avengers compound flashback?
You serious?
@@Pointman11111 yep, not even an attempt at one lol
@@mekkiepoo wrong
@@mekkiepoo i watched it in german and english and she definitely has an accent
When Wanda says to the people of West View "I'll let you go" she's, in a way, talking to Vision.
No?
@@TheSeanyb96 Why not?
Wow I never actually thought about that. Nice!
yes i can see where you’re coming from. when she has to let go of all the people of Westview she is saying goodbye to everything she created out of her grief~ including this version of vision
The line was presented in an unusual way. The "Mrs. Hart" character says "if you won't let us go, then let us die" and Wanda replies "I will" and immediately says "let you go". Wanda's "actors" were begging her to end the "series" that were being forced to participate in even by "killing off the characters".
I lost two family members last year within a month and a half, sadly I was unable to attend both funerals due to covid restriction, and when I watch the last episode it reminds me how it feels to lose someone you truly love and care, and how you won't able to see them again, it really does hurt a lot, even when I'm typing this I cry like a baby.
So sorry for your losses. Words are inadequate.
That’s ridiculous that they won't let you honor your loved ones lives. Sorry about that
I’m so sorry for your losses.
bless you!
R.I.P ✝️.
Wandavision is honestly a heartbreaking show once you realize the fact that she is just trying to keep everything together.
I just wanted to take a moment to gush over the wigs they used. They were the best I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even know they were wigs. The usual ones are noticeable and pull me out of the story. Well done Wandavision.
I totally agree. I loved Wanda’s hair styles. I also wish Elizabeth Olsen actually had red hair
As a wig designer I said the same thing! They did a great job!
Did Olsen wear a wig?
Yes she did in many scenes but she alternated between a wig and what looks like pieces added for fullness. Thicker hairline was the wigs.
@diascrive Aww man even at the end in her new outfit?
It introduced a New Hero in Photon and two Bad Guys in Hayward and Agatha and a Transformation of Wanda to Scarlet Witch.
This is the right answer
Hayward and agatha were basically introduced and done away with by the end of the show.
We didn’t need 9 episodes just to find out that scarlet witch is strong
@@hamzahassaballa5050 Nah I don't think Agatha'a done. She knows more than Wanda so she'll need her help someday and remember that "If I do, I know where to find you" line?
Hayward will likely return as well
And it brought vision back and gave us her children that will definitely play a bigger role in future series/movies as we saw in the end credit scene
“What is grief if not love persevering”
What's the point?
To cure my sanity from being in quarantine without being able to watch a Marvel movie like the before times.
This is the right answer.

That and didn’t realize the shows/periods tied in much more than just sitcom gags. Really amazing analysis to notice all that
the point, like everything else Marvel, is to get you excited to watch the next Marvel thing... and I loved every second of it.
same, by the way i made a wandavision summary, could you watch it and tell me what you think?
Umm you don't know what you're talking about... Marvel is objectively worse than DC. Anyone who doesn't like DC is stupid and doesn't know what is good entertainment. Even in the old days where comics were popular DC still prevailed. You unintelligent dimwitted sub-human.

@Azrael’s Shadow No I wasn't. Clearly you were if you think marvel is good
such a great analysis! if anyone has not yet I totally recommend The Making of WandaVision. It took me forever to locate; Disney has it listed under 'Live Action Series and Specials" > 'Assembled' It was so great to know that even the production was period accurate. The magic in the first episode was all practical and in front of a live audience. it adds so much to just the experience of watching at home.
I wondered where that was. Thanks for the tip! I had to do a search for "Assembled" to find it. And I agree with you 100% this was an excellent analysis that I thoroughly enjoyed.
i totally get the appeal of the classic sitcoms, though. because no matter how deep they dig themselves, they always manage to rectify everything by episode's end. it's a perpetual reminder that as long as we do our best, everything will work out in the end
It was the fantasy she had hoped would finally bring happiness...she learned, it wasn't real. How painful!
Well I don't know about y'all - but I would love to see wanda and vision HAVE their happily ever after with the boys... call me sentimental.
I feel the same way. She's been through a lot. And I have a bad feeling she'll be going down a dark path in doctor strange 2
@@flynnwhimster5371 perhaps...I had hoped they wouldn't make her dark - after studying up in her book, maybe she'd managed to NOT become the ultimate destroyer!
I thought vision give the white vision his memories so wouldn't that make the white vision the actual vision
@@BLVCK-VINCI I thought so too - but then he flew off!
@@BLVCK-VINCI He doesn't have the feelings. He has the memories but he doesn't have the heart of Vision.
The point was to get us to care about a character that we were luke warm about because her significance is about to skyrocket, and btw, big time success at doing so
O
I'm loving the positive attention!
Wanda: "I trapped hundreds of people in a nightmare existence and tortured them for weeks. It helped me learn to love myself again."
Agnes: "I bit a kid once."
“And I killed Sparky too!”
Agnes: Let's forget the fact that I'm power hungry. Doesn't really care about people. My own Coven and mother thinks I'm dangerous and should be killed. As seen in Doctor Strange, she's basically a more power hungry version of Caicilus. I was also prepared to kill police officers and basically anyone.
But sure, I only bit a kid once is the bad thing I did.
I just binge watched WandaVision and loved it. It took me a few episodes to get that it was Wanda only doing everything, not someone else (like Agatha) controlling Wanda against her will. And the use of American sitcoms, particularly the 80s and 2000s sitcoms, was too fun. I will say that as I watched Wanda walk through the crowd of towns folk in her hoodie after they were all freed in the final episode, I felt so much anger and frustration on behalf of the people because there would be no justice for them, like jail time for Wanda, for being held against their will. After realizing what she’d done, I was at first thinking that her walk through town was her walking towards her punishment. Anyone else feel or think this way?
Vindictive justice is not justice at all. So, I defninitely didn't feel that way.
her punishment is being alone in the life she always wanted; without vision she feels that same emptiness that she did as a kid
Wanda is one of my favorite Marvel characters. While I don't even know how to punish a character with Nexus level power, I do agree that the townsfolk deserved something more than her escape. She did something very wrong and never had to answer for it other than "I'm sorry' as she fled the scene of her crimes. I *get* that she was traumatized and in grief, ect, but that doesn't excuse crimes in the real world. Even in the trailers for (and now in the actual movie) Doctor Strange & the MoM, when she first sees Stephen she is not at all surprised as she assumes this is about Westview.
If you think about it, had she been forced (somehow) to stay, give proper apologies, do community service, mandated psychological counseling (good chance to re-introduce Doc Sampson into the MCU) and face ANY sort of reasonable justice system, then the events of Dr. Strange II might never have happened.
I think you missed the entire point of the trauma Wanda was born into and continued throughout her life with both her brother and finally Vision dying.
I ask you has Wanda not been punished enough by the universe? Also, nobody is going to arrest the Scarlett Witch.
This series was so sad, so dramatic, so well written, so creative, so philosophical and so funny... you wouldn't expect something like this from a blockbuster studio like Marvel. What a masterpiece
was that assistant Manager Doug on your lap in your home? inappropriate, someone should alert H.R.
And doggo resources!
I feel like wandavision was made to expand their audience. That’s why they went with the decade by decade sitcom and threw in a bunch of easter eggs and room for viewers to theorize.
I think it was definitely more focused on the journey than the destination. It seems like it wouldn't make sense for Marvel to put too many crucial story points for the next phase into something that not all theater-going audiences would get to see before the next movies come out. But by putting in so many fake-out Easter eggs and sticking to the weekly format, they created tons of water-cooler hype around the show to garner more subscribers.
But didn't Kevin Feige confirm that you must watch WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Sodier and Loki to make sense of the Phase Four Cinematic Universe?
@@Pranav_Bhamidipati ofc you really believe this series is insignificant?
Honestly did not think that the MCU could even pull off such a good character study. Good job i hope whoever that was behind this gets to do more stuff.
Doctor strange two
I just got to binge the entire series last night and here I am watching this, fully intending to watch your entire series on the title. Not only was that one of the most incredible series I have ever seen in so many ways, but the premise actually closely mimics a scenario I wrote into stories as a kid in what I had actually named the predicament "hex".

Thanks for watching with us. Best You Tube companion for this show. Some others went so far out, but you kept it simple
The Pietro reveal makes sense. I don't think Agatha would be capable of pulling someone from a whole other reality, so it wouldn't make sense that she would be chasing Wanda's power if she could.
yes!! the confusion that his character caused for Wanda and the audience was just brilliant, it kept us second guessing ourselves this whole series and totally submerged in the series

Ryan - this is outstanding. First, the genius within the narrative arcs that the showrunners crafted - and second, your deconstruction and analysis.
I would only add that THIS explanation of everything demonstrates why we didn’t need a Big Bad reveal, or a direct tie into something next. This is a self-contained journey, that ties up the loose ends of Wanda and Vision’s story, and gives her the resolution her tragedy demands.
Man, this was great, a deep breakdown of all the themes & tropes & the stages of grief. Such a cogent & thoughtful breakdown.
It is a shame that not a lot of people watch this channel. I find the analysis much more deeper and from the heart than on any other channel out there. Eric, heavy spoilers, emergency awesome are all interesting in their own ways, but this channel does it better and still has less views.
Wanda was using sitcoms based on what she watched when she was growing up for her grieving. While Wanda and Vision spend the early episodes trying to hide their abilities it was only a matter of time before they came realized to the town. I believe the beginning was Agatha testing Wanda’s powers.
And now we have to wait another year for Multiverse of Madness. Come on!

This is my favourite place to get all my nerd info, thank you so much for inventing this channel
Woohoo, NEW VIDEO I LOVE MARVEL AND YOU HELP ME SOLVE MY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MOVIES/SERIES. keep up the amazing work
I've always liked Wanda. I had trouble accepting that she was capable of being so villainous and selfish after all this time. Granted it was unintentional but almost none of it was addressed in the end, and her character seems slightly more grey. It makes sense that there is still a dark and terrifying aspect of her power. But after being an Avenger for so long it's almost jarring. These people snapped out of it and were terrified of her. And her reflex was to accidentally strangle everyone. This was before she leveled up to become the Dark Phoenix. Oops I mean Scarlet Witch.
Hurt people hurt people. I find it insane that a character can be an orphan, have her brother murdered, then have the love of her life murdered in front of her, after she already murdered him to save the world...why do people not think that trauma will come out? I don't remember the government asking if she was okay after her twin died instead they put her on house arrest.
I loved following her through all of it
4:27 Your editing of that scene with Wanda and Vision juxtaposed with Thanos and Vision while keeping the laugh track intact was freaking brilliant.
This is one of the best breakdowns of WandaVision yet. It was something I sorely needed to come back to after watching Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
So well done...thank you Screen Crush dude!

Interesting coming back to this after MoM. Contrary to the opinion of many, I believe the movie actually retroactively makes the show even better, in particular the season finale. And the way you've described the themes and the character arc thru the story of WandaVision really was leading to the events of MoM.
the way he casually askes us to subscribe is so smooth.
This was wonderful. Thank you 💕
you got me in the last 20 seconds. "For the children"
I think the 5 stages of grief have been moved around
1) anger - at losing Vision
2) depression - that she couldn’t see his body
3) anger - by going to Westview and trapping the entire town
4) bargaining- living her life through sitcoms
5) acceptance - realising that a fake family is not the solutions to her problems.
Just a theory tho......
Oh no you are right the show tackles the 5 stages of grief
#1 is denial
So glad I found this channel. Thank you!

Okay. You've convinced me. I've subscribed. YAY!
I enjoyed WandaVision. A very unique, powerful character wrapped in a really beautiful lady, but my heart really went out to Wanda. Considering everything she went through, it's no wonder she went nuts for awhile. What she created was cool, unless you count the terrified hostages.
Yeah but I'd rather be upset about what the show wasn't intended to be.
This was an amazing analysis of what WandaVision is!

I don't understand how there was not 1 sitcom fan found that doll
I would not be surprised if a friends of humanity spinn off type group came out of New Jersey against wanda and all super powered individuals because of the snap
The craftsmanship for this is superb, this is brilliant in so many ways, from the black and white to the cinema like color grading and aspect ratio, this reminds me of parallel themes and Tropes like The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask for the stages of grieving and Superman for the man who has everything, for the beautiful lie aspect and the pain it gives to give up that perfect world for Reality.
Lovely insight, Ryan ❤
Super annoied that, even though she didn't do it "on purpose", she suffers no consequence of holding a town hostage for weeks and leaving them traumatized. They let her go, just like that. Not like they could do anything but would have been more satisfying if Monica instead of saying "nah, just go, don't do it again ok? I would have done the same with mom" would have said "listen what you did was unforgivable, you would beat us to pulp so I won't stop you NOW but rest asured you'll pay for your crimes sooner or later, these people deserve justice and I won't rest until they get it".
If they wanted to show Wanda as a moral person they should have had her turn herself in at the end and face the consequences, instead of flying off into the sunset.
Seriously. What she did, intentional or not, was NOT ok. Not to be the grumpy old man, but the writing smacks of the worst trends of the ascending generation. “I know I took a town hostage and tortured them and their children for weeks, and at minimum I can try to erase some of those horrible memories, but I didn’t mean to do it so I’m just gonna leave without trying to make this right or face the consequences.”
Major, major storytelling mistake.
EDIT: if the reason she can’t turn herself in is fear of being weaponized like Vision, then fine. Verbalize it.
“Wanda, you can’t just leave, what you’ve done is horrible and you need to turn yourself in and answer for it.”
“I want to. But I can’t risk being turned into another weapon like Vision. I need to get away from people and get a handle on my abilities. Maybe once I have, I can return and remove these painful memories I caused in Westview.”
She still ends up in the cabin studying, but it shows that she cares for the people she’s harmed and is determined to make amends for what she’s done. It also shows that consequences matter.
Seriously, I don’t get how Wanda just getting dirty looks from the townies is enough. “I know I just gave you all PTSD and took your kids hostage, but I gotta go have another adventure. Deuces!”
@@DemoDick1 totally agree. Or maybe she could just assume she's a villain and own it. The reason I said Monica could have been the voice of reason there, is because I see more consistent with her character arc the fact that she's not taking responsibility for her actions, her being a victim is part of her character and that's fine, but the writers being OK with it and pretending the audience to be so feels wrong to me. Monica could have embodied that sense of ethic and Wanda could have kept being a victim persona with no sense of responsibility over her actions with no major changes... only that would have implied future conflict between those characters and I don't konw if they're heading that way in future films.
@@lionellerner Yep. Monica’s last lines made it even worse. “They’ll never know what *you* gave up for them.” Uh, hello? How about what THEY gave up? You know, agency and sanity?
Wanda caused potentially irreparable and catastrophic psychological damage to thousands of people who hadn’t harmed her any way. The fact that she didn’t do it intentionally is a mitigating factor, NOT an excusatory one. She’s culpable. The question is HOW culpable is she? It isn’t even examined.
And were supposed to see Hayward as a bad guy because he broke the rules to protect the people of Westview from Wanda’s reign of terror (i.e. his job)? He’s an antagonist? Really?
It could have been so much better, so much more interesting and exploratory with just a couple added/different lines and modified character motivations. No major plot changes, no budget increases. Just better storytelling.
Stuff like this makes me seriously consider a second career as a writer. I could do better and no one pays me for it. LOL.
@@DemoDick1 I'm pretty sure you would end up trying to satisfy some executives and at the same time trying to appeal a certain target audience for some marketing reason and would end up doing the same hahaha
Since both of you felt like that.. then Marvel did it job. I felt that this is how we supposed to feel about her. Just like how everyone in the world hated her (since Civil War.)
And I give a pass to Monica since she's the only one person to understand her grief. With all the world (majority) against her, Monica doesn't need to antagonize her. She's far from a hero now.. she's a force of chaos.
I feel like in the future, she will be an isolated witch. Just living her life at the edge of the world..
