- Although Jack Hathcock was dead and gone by the time that Buford Pusser became sheriff of McNairy County, Jack was the man who, along with his wife Louise, built the state line. This episode details how Jack and Louise met, operated the state line, and how their relationship ended. This installment into "The Other Story" also explains how Carl Douglas "Towhead" White became such a notable character in the story of the state line.
I am a retired police officer with 29 years on the job. Growing up I enjoyed the movies and books. But I enjoy your facebook page and videos, I believe they are a great source for someone wanting to learn about this place and time.
Thank you. I too just wanted to learn more about Buford, and I was shocked by what I found to be the real story. Movies always seem to have a way of twisting the facts a little to make the story more entertaining, however, WALKING TALL didn't even come close to being Buford true story.
This is making the state line sound slot rougher than some of your other cast.
I was told by a very high ranking insurance man that Corinth Mississippi and surrounding areas were known for arsons more than any other place in the United States ..., This is no BS
Mike, who pushed Bobby Anderson back into the other room? Your book says it was Towhead but your video says it was Louise. Thank you.
Thanks for your videos. I've been interested in Buford Pusser since I watched the "Walking Tall" movies when I was growing up. I like hearing all sides of this story. I am planning on visiting West Tennessee where all this took place. I do like Buford. I'm sure he was "Dirty". But, dang near all cops were back then- as many still are today. Buford's story is just very interesting to me. And I enjoy trying to figure out the mysteries that surround this man
Thanks. Yes, his story is interesting, as are the stories of each individual in the real tale.
How are you "sure he was dirty?"
@@davegibson1667 Most, if not all cops were dirty back then. Probably more so than now
@@shadowwolf2524 My grandfather and two of my uncle's were cops at that time. That's a rather absurd, blanket statement.
It's more the southern sheriff in that era that yull find being "dirty" as you say..the high sheriff was 'the man' in them days..
Where is Ed Lowell that you’re talking to from?
And where are you Mike Elem from?
Wondering how one actually acquires such a prestigious moniker as " Toehead " !!!
It's an old nickname for people with blond hair.
GREAT SHOW GOOD WORK !!!!!!
Was Kerksey Nix or John Ransome involved in this?
No evidence either were.
Does anyone know if Carlos Hathcock VIETNAM SNIPER is related TO JACK HATHCOCK ?
Must have been as Dennis Hathcock (W.O.'s son) and Carlos were distant cousins.
Carlos was from Arkansas
Mike, where did you serve in law enforcement?
I thought we settled last night that you were gone. You won't answer any questions yourself while asking others to share what they know with you. You sir are self centered and egotistical. You act much like a Pusser "fan page" reader who expects everyone to believe that Pusser was a true hero. NEWSFLASH....There were no heroes in this story, only victims...on BOTH sides.
If you had any intelligence you could simply google it! But apparently you are only here to cast doubt about a man that has spent time and effort into researching what really happened. I would bet you are one of those people who believe that Hollywood only puts out factual movies. You probably believe that the Wizard of Oz is real! Go troll somewhere else!
