That woman saying her smoke goes outside and doesn’t worry about it. My Neighbor’s Wood Smoke comes inside into MY home and it makes me wheeze and gives me headaches! My Windows and doors are Closed! Why should others Have to Breathe the Vile Wood Smoke coming from other people’s wood-stoves?!? Why?!?

There are quite a few in our area, absolutely stinks outside in winter. You want to get some nice fresh air through your house, think again, as soon as you open the window you are blasted with smoke.

wood has been used for cooking and heating since the birth of mankind, they are going on about how polluting and particle matters caused by wood burners, but what about the number of us that have barbeques through out the summer, and the amount of charcoal burning restaurants and take a ways that have sprung up, that burn tons of charcoal through out the year, how come nothing is said about that how much pollution does that cause probably far more than wood burning stoves, but i suppose every one likes charcoal cooked food, so a blind eye is turned talk about double standards

The lady from the wood stove shop is incorrect when she says cars pollute more than wood burning. In the whole of the UK, PM2.5 emissions from wood burning is 21%, and road transport is 13%. Wood burning is pretty much the only source that has increased where everything has decreased due to tighter regulations. The emissions from wood burning are more toxic too.

"more toxic" --- can you provide sources for that ridiculous claim please?

@@mozdickson- I see you’re one of those people that when somebody shows them real world data they don’t believe in, they call it nonsense.
Wood burners are more damaging because the small particles they produce get inhaled into the lungs. They can then enter the bloodstream and end up in other parts of the body, including the brain.

You can install a particulate filter into the flue to eliminate particulate emissions.

nonsense. There is no particulate filter that can filter out pm2.5 effectively. The particles are too small.

selfish and irresponsible people don't care about their neighborrs having to breath in pollutants from fire emissions. Why should it be ok to have one's house filled with wood burning smoke. This is stressing and causes huge health problems. Ok if you live in the country side with no neighbours.

Unbelievable these haven’t been banned, no other type of pollution is tolerated in our society to this extent.

wood burning is far worse for the environment than fossil fuels, has this person not heard about the high levels of black carbon emitted by woodfuel. Far worse than fossil fuel emissions. You can't keep burning desparately needed wildlife habitat because you want to look at a flame in your living room for comfort.
