- Today 6/4/13 I had a ride on a G Class Loco from Maryborough to Geelong as the crew do a change.. At 6.30pm we left Maryborough and arrived in Geelong at about 12.30 am..
G Class Loco .Length 19.8... Mass 128
The train was hauling 40 Wagons containing Canola total length was 692.04...2988.00. Tonnes..
It was a great night on the rails and I would like to thank both the crew for the chat and fun on board, I hope to be able to do it again some time ..
Ok its a bit dark but you get the atmosphere in the cab and the sounds of the Loco working up the hills and some quick glimpses of the country side at night and you get to hear what the drives have to deal with on the line..
The last clip is the train coming into Geelong I ran out of memory on my Phone .. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This was an amazing video, I definetly enjoyed!
Thank you much appreciated.
A most enjoyable night for you then Ken
Awesome Video Your Camera Did Not Pick Of The Sound of the horn that well also the g class's are from el Zorro but in the sct livery with out the sct logos
Yes sorry about that I did think that as well but I was using my Mobile phone at the time, I was hoping to get back again another time but unfortunately Elzo went bust.

Train Crewe not knowing what time it was due to leave? how did you manage to get cab view Ken , interesting ride , just pity it was night time , you will have to do it again day time..Thanks for the ride
Did one better...In April, 2003 I traveled with Freight Australia from Forrestfield, WA to Islington Freight Terminal, Adelaide South Australia with three G Class locomotives, and 1.8km of train behind us. My FIRST trip across the Nullabor, and it was AWESOME! Spent two wks in Adelaide, and then rode with Freight Australia back to WA...
Nice one that would have been a fantastic trip for sure.
Willowfs4472 IT was brilliant, to say the least. Took my video camera with me, as shot quite a bit of. film along the way. Loved EVERY minute of my trip!!!
was this an El Zorro or a Pac Nat train? I get the impression an El Zorro as the livery on the locos is theirs
did the crew stay in Geelong or run a train back the same night
Yes it was and no we drove back from Geelong...
doesn't seem fair does it?
6 hours by train only 2 by car
did both the drivers get work after El Zorro went under? l live near the line at the Geelong end often hear them coming down with the dynamic brake engaged long before you see them
good to see some live in cab shots keep them coming
As far as I know only one the guy has a job with Pacific National now the female driver I don't know sorry.?
Why did it take 6 hours? Did you have to stop for a cross?
That im not to sure but I think we had speed restrictions .?
@@Willowfs4472 Thanks. I understand it might be a bit hard to remember 6 years ago.
