The only people who pick locks are hobbyists. Memorizing lock bypasses, buying lockpicking sets, and developing the skills to use them, is not something a crackhead has the ability or desire to do. Crackheads would rather just bash the thing with a rock or try to cut it.
@@Jake-bt3fc It's not the crackheads and such you're too worried about, it's the professional thieves (and yes, they exist, though they're not even the main concern here) and more importantly anyone who might want to target you specifically (like an ex, disgruntled employee, etc...) Likely they would want to be silent and most destructive entries are not silent. For businesses they might be more worried about professional thieves (I'm using the term professional loosely. I don't mean highly skilled, just a thief who's only way they make money is by stealing and selling to a fence. They will eventually learn how to bypass some security systems, even if they aren't that bright.) A lot of these padlocks are bought by companies to do things like close lockers, doors containing expensive materials, or gates. If you do destructive entry there's evidence that something happened left behind. If you do it non-destructively and put everything back the way it was except for the stuff you stole, there's a good chance it will take them longer to realize something happened and by then you could have yourself gone or covered.

“This is an unpickable lock” *picks lock faster than you can process what just happened *
Was still figuring out how the lock is opened with the key and he’s violated the thing and tossed it aside
Not only that.. It appeared he picked it faster than with the actual key. wtf??
He should be able to pic it in a NY second because hes practiced it SOOOOO many times before he made this video 😂

I know a few people from my hometown, if they had this skill nothing would be safe
It's actually not hard just a few hours practice for each of the main lock types. Literally anyone can buy the tools (under $20) and learn to do this. You're not safe.
@ right, raking is considered an "unskilled attack". They really only need the tools and some basic knowledge. Security through obscurity is not good enough.
few hours when you have the basics and some more complex locks mechanics knowledge plus hours and hours of general practice... but yeah, learnable like everything basically @
@@ebresheabut at the same time it kinda is. Most of the locks are shit. And the reason they are still unpicked is because people don't know how.

Important to note that this lock is still pretty secure. I don't think there are many people trying to break into your garage who own a dimple rake
There aren’t many people trying to break into my garage who can bypass a much cheaper lock either.
It only has to happen once.

Just cause you assumed they won't have a dimple rake.
Or a battery powered grinder or oxy torch

I’m tired of people not understanding the difference between then and than.
@sumyunguy5593 Oh, don't worry. I know the difference. I just don't care. Distinguishing between the "then" that compares time and the "than" that compare things is stupid. At least there their and they're actually make sense to distinguish.
