- Don't you just love it when things come together? It's been to countless shops, yet it still doesn't run right. Could this be the last stop for the F650gs before it finally runs properly??

Buying a Cursed BMW F650gs That Refuses to Run Right | Mystery Issues

Check your idle actuator and clean it, check that throttle closes completely and has a little slack in the cable, check air temp sensor ( was the faulty part on my 650), loctide the battery connections, they come loose and cause similar problems and probably most important- stick to the propper starting procedure- turn ignition on and wait until one of the lights goes out ( dont know wich on on the dashboard, aprox. 5sec) then push the starter and always without turning the throttle, no gas at all! The ecu "resets" the throttle position when you turn on the ignition and gets faulty data if the throttle is not closed!
Legend! This thing will be running before no time with help like yours, thanks!
This is a great channel if you like BMW motorcycles
The video editing is very high-quality
The audio is also very high-quality. It’s easy to understand everything that the people are saying.
I’m wondering if you’re using an Insta360 or possibly a GoPro because I can see the fish eye lense
Hey, thanks dude! This whole video was filmed with a GoPro 9, can't remember if I had any ND filters on it at the time or not. Since then it has developed a power circuit fault, so in the market for something new.
@@DispatchMoto like I was saying everything looks good
I was using an insta360x3
Recently upgraded to a x4
Sometimes I just use the iPhone 15 pro max
Interesting to see what everyone uses to create content
Definitely think you got a good deal. I think you got a bad thing-a-ma-jig in the what's-it. Probably just need to add some Marvel Mystery Oil to the gas and the crank case, run it for a few miles, then change out the oil. LOL!
Oh - FIRST!
You know, he never mentioned if those parts were replaced, that very well could be it! I'll probably start with checking the valves and making sure their in spec, but the marvel oil isn't a bad idea.
I picked my '06 GS last week and it has developed the identical problem. I am leaning towards the fuel filter/regulator, your bikes PO mentioned this. To this end I have ordered a MANN-FILTER WK 692 which to all intents and purpose has the same spec. as the BMW filter/reg, about $20 vs $200 for the BM version. There is a video about it on the University of U-Tube.The MANN needs a tiny bit of Dremmel work and thats it. Over and out.
Hey, thanks for sharing! Definitely keep me updated on what ends up working for you. This has been sitting for a while now, so I'll do most of the typical maintenance anyway. I've heard these machines can be pretty temperamental, but I'm sure we will figure it out.
Cracking bike these I have the Dakar version for over 7 years and been all over Europe
Fork seals are a messy but easy enough job
Just some advice the battery's on these have to be 100 % if not it causes all sorts of problems like not ticking over won't rev right so priorities this
But if you get it fixed excellent buy
I have just bought a new Tennere 700 but love the Dakar 650 that much I don't want to part with it
I'm actually a little hopefully a solid AGM battery will solve a lot of electrical gremlins it has. Regardless, it's a good step in the right direction in diagnosing the issue(s) it has. Looking forward to experience even HALF of the riding you've done it, thanks for sharing!
Great bikes. I had one and my wife has one. Her’s she’s ridden halfway around the world and back again. Only real issue is water pump impeller seals like to fail.
I always hear great things about them, can't wait to dig into it and get it out on the trails!
don't use the pen to poke around, the brain doesn't understand what they want from it. Just hold on.
It's a rotax 650 pretty much the most reliable engine ever built won't be much that's wrong with it.
Swm 650 as well another rare masterpiece of motor.
I might be biases, I have a tr650
The Rotax is a huge reason I ended up with the f650, excited to dig into it and get it running as well as I know it could be running. 🤙
Did you find the problem?
Mine had similar issues. Had a crack in the rubber intake boot. Also seems like she may need a new starter clutch.
I've been terrible busy (or great at making excuses) and haven't dug into it yet. When the time comes I'll be sure to give the intake boot a good inspection. Keep me updated on yours, would love to hear more about it!
