You're a large Brand, with an already established budget dedicated to advertising/merchandising deals. Sending out this stuff isn't a loss. You send out, let's say $500+ worth of [WHATEVER] to an influencer with 755,000 Followers (or more). If even .1% of their Followers ends up purchasing something in the near future, that's 755 orders from one source alone.
Not to mention the exposure this brings the Companies.
It's not even begging. It's just saying "Hey, I have followers give me stuff."
