The idea that Booker is some kind of perennial choke artist in the playoffs is ridiculous. The Suns have only been good for 2 years, and they made the Finals one of those years. Booker had good stats in the Finals and a couple 40+ games despite a bad hamstring.
Yeah at the time of the Suns vs Mavs series being over, I was thinking D Book and CP3 were chokers but since then I’ve thought about it and especially with Book, it’s prolly a one off tbh. Luka and Embiid are complimentary of other players. If you watch Luka's post game he always uses the word "amazing" to describe his opponents. Nobody talks as much as Booker. Tatum is 24. The warriors defensive gameplan was stopping tatum which attributed to him playing like shit. It's the same thing the spurs did to bron in 07. When facing elimination tatum dropped 46 on the best players head and didn't go ghost like booker did against a much worse team. I think its fair to judge tatum after this season but bookers on fraud watch.

The double standard with Booker is insane. So many stars have been bounced out the playoffs for years and don't receive anywhere near the criticism Book gets. What about Jokić when he won MVP and got swept by Booker, or Donavan Mitchel, Paul George, Luka, James Harden. At least Booker got to a finals, and he played great. All anyone wants to talk about is Game 6, but what the back-to-back 40-point games in which they lost. The team let him down. Game 7 was tough, but that will probably never happen again, the suns couldn’t hit a shot, and the Mavs couldn’t miss but the way people talk about the series is like the suns got swept. I think the criticism would be fair if it was done equally to every star who has failed in the playoffs

What I hate/love about the Suns is that they don't talk about their injuries in the playoffs. Zero excuses from the players and coach. But the truth is Booker has played injured in both season's playoffs. And versus the Mavericks, supposedly multiple Suns players had covid but stilled played... That's a whole other issue though. I'm not making excuses, Suns lost, just adding context.
Those are excuses at the end of the day. Guys decided to play through that stuff. Every team deals with injuries during the playoffs to some extent. It's the product of a grueling 82-game season. I know Monty & the players don't look at it the same way. They know they were supposed to beat that Mavs team but failed to do so. They had a lead against the Bucks despite supposedly having injuries. They could have won two more games like they did the first two.

Similar in some ways, great frame for today's game, both get acres of space to shoot but whilst Simmons is an awful shooter hence why all the space, Booker is one the best shooters, why then do teams allow him to score? I disagree. We haven't seen him run the point nearly as well as he has been. The Suns last year looked like they felt like they were owed the championship. After being humbled, they have a hunger and are more scrappy this season than last. The fact that you even have the 2021 and 2022 season as the thumbnails is kind of goofy, too. They went to the finals and lost, which sucks, sure but it was literally Booker's first time in the playoffs. He looks better this season than he did last season, the Suns lineup has had some surprising people show up. We're a quarter through the season and you have a breakdown on why this is the same. Such a make or break season for Phoenix, have easily been the best/one of the best regular season teams the last 2 years. At the beginning of the season of their final run you had analyst saying they'll be the 6th-8th seed and some saying they won't make the playoffs. They keep proving their doubters run and honestly they EXCEEDED expectations since no one expected them to be true contenders. Only 5 teams have won championships in the past like 13 years. Yet no one brings up the other teams. This is a new year and if the suns keep winning they'll win it all eventually. It means I did my job well. I bought into the Suns stock in 2022 after Booker scored 49 against Denver on March 23rd. But the playoffs really turned me off. When I expected them to perform better, they did worse. Booker is a player I talked about months ago in a negative light, so if you see that video, you'll see that I quickly turned on him. I just simply don't like how awful they looked against the Mavs (same as last night) and that turns me off from buying their stock again

The Suns will go as far as Deandre Ayton can take them. Booker is a known commodity. Ayton was soft in the Mavs series. If he plays in the playoffs like he's been playing of late the Suns will be tough to beat.

@@robc5051 If both him and CP kept in on the court then I would agree but they were taking shots in the post game. They were arrogant and acted as if Luka didn’t belong on the same court as them. Totally dismissive of Luka when asked about him. which made it so much worse when he humbled them. Wasn’t normal trash talk and leave it on the court. Yeah they lost but booker had two 40 point games its not like he choked. 2022 they sold for sure but people forget Book got hurt in round 1, and Chris Paul was burnt out because of it. I said that he had great performances. That's why I said it's frontrunner behavior. When he's up, he balls out. But when he's down, those are the games that matter the most. Sure, the sample size is small. But I think it's fair to point them out because of how starkly worse he plays in those two games than the other games. You're up 2-0 in the Bucks & Mavs, and somehow can't show up when down 2-3 or even tied 3-3
