Great points in the vid, too4one. I used to feel sour towards Giannis about his victory over the Suns in the '21 Finals but as this past season proved that kind of logic is stupid. The Bucks won that title because they were the better team, even if my heart wanted CP3 to win a chip. Hate him if you must but this guy is the real deal and you can't argue that fact.
My major issue with Gilbert Arenas is saying Giannis doesn't understand basketball and doesn't improve when every season he steps his game and adds a new facet to his arsenal every season.
Coaching staff limited him his first 3 years... Changes in personnel, and Giannis adding more muscle is what you see. They fully run the teams offense thru him shooting more and mostly in the paint where due to his size is unstoppable for most (there are exceptions of course). The only thing Giannis truly without other outside factors is his footwork but even that was his coaching staffs doing(Jason Kidd). But that's not understanding the game of basketball in it's intricacies on what he personally needs to improve on his game. Arguably stepping his game up is him shooting more, he worked on footwork back in mid 2010's when he entered the league....since then nothing changed but volume of shots ... Even his assists are just necessary because he is doubled almost 40% of the time. But hey everyone is t a finesse player that works on things they noticed needed work. If you say he shoots better from 3pt now if argue we'll he was barely shooting 1 3pt a game, and has upticked to trying 4 a game...he has spurts of playmaking but he can't focus in enough for it to be consistent. I'm not saying he has 0 basketball iQ but I believe Gil is correct that as an individual he doesn't know the game as well as he should being an NBA star. If he did, he would understand how to focus in, how to work on his flaws that would have him expand his game outside paint scoring and the occasional 3 or jump shot off the wing inside the 3 pt line. Now yes dude can for sure take over games and pound the ball in the paint...we've know that since his first/2nd year. Yes his 50pt finals game was incredible, it also came from the paint for the most part and didn't exactly show a vast array of new and improved skills we didn't know he had his first year. Still incredible for sure... But does it mean he has high iQ when it comes to basketball? Not a chance
Gilbert already lost the credibility to speak on “Understanding,” when he couldn’t understand that you’re not supposed to threaten your teammates at gunpoint in a NBA locker room. All this did was confirm that his credibility needs to stay revoked. L Dilbert 🤡
If anything the fact Giannis is putting monster, MVP-like numbers on limited minutes is something to marvel at. Arenas was scoring a ton on an eternally mediocre Wizards team where things could have been even worse if he didn't do so. GA gets to sit on the bench cause they Bucks have been built competently for a while now and they're trashing a lot of teams on a consistent basis.
The slander against the Greek freak is ridiculous. He's probably the best player in the league "I hate saying best of anything, but the point is he's incredible." yet people want to bash him. Winning a championship, dominating the finals & winning finals MVP doesn't shut these idiots up. It's so annoying. Honestly, the more I watch how NBA players view non-america players. it makes me kind of vibe with the xenophobia concept. it doesn't make sense how people look down on Luka or giannis.
The fact that Giannis is playing only 32 minutes while still DOMINATING the league should actually be a positive for him shouldn’t it? Remember when Steph was playing barely 33 minutes per game and say out like 20 *WHOLE* 4th quarters in 2016? Didn’t see anybody saying Steph isn’t great cuz his MINUTES PER GAME was lower than guys like KD or LeBron or Harden. The favt that minutes per game is being held against Giannis is crazy, disrespectful, and damgerous.
Exactly, the most impressive thing to me about that steph season was precisely the number of min he played and just how many fourth quarters he sat. Like the fact that he put up those numbers while playing way less that his mvp peers that just makes that shit more impressive. Same thing for giannis, the fact that hes doing this on these min is super duper impressive. Its like "this dude is so good he dsnt need to play as much as other guys to ensure his team wins, therefore hes not dominant"....makes no damn sense.
You would think a guy whose career flamed out from injuries would understand the importance of sometimes playing less minutes to avoid getting pointlessly injured in garbage time
Yeah if Giannis played 40+ mins a game his numbers realistically go up even more so he could fuck around and average 40 and 20 for a season but it also increases his chance for injury
Please name somebody working harder on both ends of the game than Giannis. If you like bron or steph over him fine, but is it not crazy nobody else in the leauge rn even comes close? Let’s just imagine he never develops any offensive skills whatsoever..bro’d still be a defensive monster. And Jordan is GOAT to me but he didn’t win all 6 championships sitting in the post. I’d argue he didn’t even get his first 3peat with a SINGLE post move. Wanna compare Giannis to MJ? Talk bout how they both climbed over walls the defense built against them. Stop playing
“Giannis doesn’t understand basketball he doesn’t amid eryand the workout” sure sure he was a rookie weighing 190 now he 250 cool coll, he a champion finals mvp cool cool, top 75 cool cool. Gilbert, you never made it past the first round, u were never mvp caliber. But he just salty Gianni’s did more in much much lesser time
Lol this is what you get when you start putting ex players who never amounted to anything in the league or had delusions of grandeur, on pedestals as basketball experts.
@@ronaldomendoza7578 Arenas is just like a lot of NBA players. They like players who can score off the dribble and play in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. Ball dominance, high volume scoring, and handles are way more important to them than off-ball movement and efficiency.
There are legitimate criticism one could raise about Giannis. But to follow up your hot take about Giannis with “he doesn’t understand how to he better” and “he doesn’t understand how to train his body” …. The only explanation I can think of is you either haven’t actually watched a game of NBA basketball in the last several years, or you are blatantly lying. Those are two of his strengths!!!
So if Giannis average 40 minutes again he'll average around 40 points per game. You really want that? Take the minutes he sits and catch some rest. Ain't no one lasting all season getting beat up by that man.
Skills are overrated. The only "skill" that matters is winning, who gives a shit about what moves you can do or from where you can shoot, Giannis has proved that he can win (:
The disrespect Giannis gets and jokic get it’s crazy Gilbert is one of the guys who likes scorer’s who are more flashy like KD and kyrie players score and Giannis is different and dominant in his own way and got a championship
Gilbert mad cause he was just another Bradley Beal type dude, decent numbers but never taken seriously as a championship threat, also his body couldn’t handle the NBA he had a short career while the freak put on a frame and is extremely durable so far

I'm showing ppl this video when they say we HAVE to listen to NBA players' opinions.
@@diablejambe3460 these former players really trynna kill the “He played in the NBA so he knows more than you” argument 😂😂
My guy Gilbert “Brings guns to” Arenas is being delusional.
Gilbert Arenas is a straight CLOWN.
ayeeeeeee congrats on making the vids for a year bro!
Appreciate it!! Been seeing you commenting here for a while. Glad you're still here with the support 🧡
@@tooforwon241 np bro. best nba content on here easily
Congrats on 10k!
Thank you!
Giannis is literally getting better and better and people are still disrespecting him for no reason
Lbert is living in 2016-17 that’s why Giannis is bad and Westbrook is a triple double machine it all makes sense
I love your style🦖
Will never understand why people feel the need to downplay Giannis. Strange wave of haters lately.
He’s the face of a Small market, he’s not from America. It’s a shame Giannis gets disrespected for being great.
But he just salty Gianni’s did more in much much lesser time
Lol this is what you get when you start putting ex players who never amounted to anything in the league or had delusions of grandeur, on pedestals as basketball experts.
man you deserve more subs
No wonder Gilbert never achieved anything note worthy in his career, he values skills over everything.😒
Steph: up 30 so sitting out the 4th quarter
Gilbert: He's not clutch/a 4th quarter scorer
2021 Giannis is getting disrespect that 2001 Shaq would have NEVER got. and I’m over it.
Gilbert's never won anything. Giannis is a back to back MVP. One of 13 players to ever do it. He has a finals MVP as well as a ring.
Gil, if you think you have to average 38+ MPG, perhaps that is why you never have deep playoffs run
Let's not forget, Dilbert did bring a gun to the locker room, he's not the brightest lightbulb in the room...
Sold and Sage are so ahead in subscribers and they aren't bad but this feels wrong.
Congrats on 10k, on to silver plaque
Imagine caring about a minutes per game that much lol
Besides if he's getting his crazy numbers in less time, doesn't that just make a better argument for Giannis? Lmaoo
@@ronaldomendoza7578 Arenas is just like a lot of NBA players. They like players who can score off the dribble and play in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. Ball dominance, high volume scoring, and handles are way more important to them than off-ball movement and efficiency.
They will use anything to hate on someone.
@@ryanmccrary1880 Guess you are right since most NBA players can't even sniff a chip, much less be that guy who led a team into one
@@ryanmccrary1880 tween tween culture really damn stupid at this point
It makes me so angry that grown ass man will go out of their way to hate on somebody as positive as Giannis is.
U deserve more subs
There are legitimate criticism one could raise about Giannis. But to follow up your hot take about Giannis with “he doesn’t understand how to he better” and “he doesn’t understand how to train his body” …. The only explanation I can think of is you either haven’t actually watched a game of NBA basketball in the last several years, or you are blatantly lying. Those are two of his strengths!!!
“It shouldn’t surprise none of us dat he is that stupid” 😂
10k!! Woohoo!! 🥳
Yay! Thank you!
If Giannis really starts playing 40+ mins, number of points he would score would be through the roof ngl
10:11 Giannis is so good he can pass to himself without a backboard what a G
So if Giannis average 40 minutes again he'll average around 40 points per game. You really want that? Take the minutes he sits and catch some rest. Ain't no one lasting all season getting beat up by that man.
Skills are overrated.
The only "skill" that matters is winning, who gives a shit about what moves you can do or from where you can shoot, Giannis has proved that he can win (:
Ikr? For example what the point of doing 30 crossovers in 10 seconds if can put the ball in the hoop?
@@nukeboy4939 2k players in the park be like:
New sub 💪
The disrespect Giannis gets and jokic get it’s crazy Gilbert is one of the guys who likes scorer’s who are more flashy like KD and kyrie players score and Giannis is different and dominant in his own way and got a championship
Stats don’t lie. Giannis is a beast, period. You can say what you want about skills, they guy performs most than any other skilled player in the NBA.
Gilbert is just envious of Giannis. That's it. Let's keep it simple here.
Phil Handy is NOT with the comments being made 🤣
The Goofy shirt represents Gilbert so well 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Giannis’s resume shits on anything Gil has to say. That title you skipped over Gil is something you don’t have son smh
Gilbert mad cause he was just another Bradley Beal type dude, decent numbers but never taken seriously as a championship threat, also his body couldn’t handle the NBA he had a short career while the freak put on a frame and is extremely durable so far
You gotta pay attention to what Gilbert _isn't_ saying, which is that his monthly crack shipment finally arrived
🤣
Let the hate continue! It’s fuel! Giannis will always get better, so let them continue to hate while he’s working!
I have no idea how to express my anger or in disbelief of what this guy is describing Giannis man
7 of 10 FTs is still valuable to me lmao. Give me that 70% Giannis!
I really don’t bother with Gilbert Arenas takes. It’s hard for me to put a lot of stock in any players opinion who hasn’t won at a high level consistently. 🤷🏻♂️
The Lakers assistant coach while listening to Arenas bs, probably remebered 6 months ago Giannis destroying both KD & Lebron in LA, that's why he got that face.
The charts you showed about his improvements actually helps gill’s case
You should check out the recent FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers Greece vs. Serbia, it was a hell of a duel between Jokic and Giannis.
Bro you need to understand that Allen Iverson took way more shots and plus he didn't rim run as much as The Greek Freak does
Hence him not being as efficient. No disrespect, he just wasn't as good, and part of it was his height
You good bro but no that's not it he had to do to much hear what NBA players have to say a bout him but you're right they do down play antetokounmpo
Bruh he was talking about MJ in the 80s and how he developed he’s back to the basket game in the 90s.
Lebron has never once had a better year then giannis the past 4 years
Iverson is an outlier he is one of the few players known for never getting tired
I don't think he's realizing, by diminishing Giannis, he's destroying the legacy of guys he 🧢s for, very oxymoronic ✔️
Lebron just tapped this Gilbert shoulder and he bricks the freethrows. Lol "skills" 🤣
10:30 EXACTLY, there are so many guys who are 6'11 and can't go the basket when and how they want to, Giannis can (with ease too)
The Naruto music at the beginning 😂😂😂😂
NBA has a history of shading international players, it's not the first time and not the last one either...
You can always tell when a talker doesn't really hoop. Gil knows the game and what he's talking about.
People like him, make Giannhs stronger!!!
You talk about giannis and we learned your name!!!! 😂😂😂
The NBA must have awful players seeing that they can’t stop someone who doesn’t know how to play basketball or train his body
If u never played basketball it is a flex to say you played minutes.
Giannis shooting skill has improved, from 3 and the mid range; he shoots the same percentage from mid as Joel embiid
