  • Microsoft stumbled into the accessibility market about three years ago, with the launch of the Xbox One Elite controller. The Elite wasn't designed to help people with disabilities play video games -- in fact, it was built for hardcore players who wanted more mapping options by adding rear paddle buttons, more sensitive triggers and interchangeable analog sticks to the classic dual-grip Xbox gamepad.
It just so happened these features were also in high demand at organizations like AbleGamers, whose goal is to make gaming accessible to anyone with disabilities via education, community support and the creation of custom controllers.

As much as people love to hate Microsoft, I'm proud of them for bringing gaming to the disabled. Gaming should be enjoyed by everyone equally. Props to MS.

I give them major props to stepping up and being one of the first major official companies to introduce this, still doesn't mean that they are still better than sony in a consumer and costumer standpoint in other ways but this still is a milestone compared to just the other details

PS4 is still struggling finding its niche for backwards compatibility. You can sign up for their Playstation Now program though, but why pay for something I already paid for?
Microsoft may be struggling finding IPs for their system, but they are making land grab in other directions. In the end, all consoles have their audience and no one console is superior to the other.
Because PC blows them out of the water.

no it really cant, all it "opens up" is the ability to have your buttons sitting wherever in the room you want. though i suppose if dropping 100$ plus another 20$ per button is something youre willing to do just to remap keys on a console, more power to you.

Then they did the exact same thing with the Xbox One didn't release any freaking games for except for a couple really shitty ones, and then threw it in the trash.

Two things: The first: This is a beautiful idea. I had watched a video on gamers with disabilities (From Raggtag actually) and I was looking at my controller and my keyboard and mouse the other day after watching it and I was so grateful I had two hands (no joke) and that nothing was wrong with my eyes. I became incredibly appreciative of how lucky I am that I can just waste my time with this hobby as easily as I can(even if I'm just not that good, lol). I think this is a wonderful idea and I appreciate the amount of thought and consideration that went into this (right on down to allowing people to plug in their own devices).
The second is that the girl in this is cute as heck. Her eyes are beautiful and her voice is pleasant.

All I've got to say is that this is badass. Letting those who can't really play games, play games in a way that helps them and allows them to experience what we experience. I may bash Xbox for shutting down so many exclusives that I would have liked and the UI, and prefer PS4 a bit more now, but this is just awesome. Good job, Xbox.

The Godfather I bought an Xbox One on Day One, went to the midnight launch. I didn't get a PS4 until August 2017 because they had so many exclusives that in my opinion were better, especially after Xbox shot itself in the foot. You act like I gave them "so much shit", I said 3 things, 2 thing of which I had a problem with, with the 3rd being how I've come to appreciate my PS4 a bit more. I don't even play PS4 close to as much as my Xbox still, but when I want a great single player experience, that's where I go.

This is also great for people without disabilities so that you can make your own custom controls schemes for games that don't support it, and also for the super creative people to create entirely new ways to play! This is super cool, and I hope this stuff gets more support because it can really help everyone!
