The GT350 really can compete with a 2015 GT3.
This happens often with lighter, but still powerful cars. They rocket away on straights to then be reeled in on the turns. This is how a Miata with race rubber can tackle high-HP cars with inexperienced drivers. Then you have the tire factor. Tires make a bigger difference in circuit speed than nearly any other aspect of a car. Corner speed is king. The difference between the Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire and the Pilot Super Sport amounts to 2-3 seconds/lap on the same car with the same driver on a track with enough turns (Mid-Ohio Club circuit is 15 turns and 2.4 miles). The ability to enter turns faster, maintain that speed throughout and put power down sooner coming out of the turn means everything.

Bone stock! Amazing right?
@@tekyguy it truly is! I did the resonator delete on mine. I read you had an external mic and now it makes sense why it sounded so loud in the cabin lol
@@PghTrainFanatic do you prefer it with the resonators removed?
@@tekyguy oh absolutely! I had a local shop weld in stainless pieces to delete the resonators. I liked the sound of that compared to a clamp in aftermarket X pipe
And Porsche driver wasn't even pushing it hard. Not even the slightest drift.
If the Stang weighed the same as the VW, it would have eaten it.
Gt3 needs a driver mod
See my reply to T Rn. Always looking to improve.
In conclusion: so many noise and power for nothing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Obviously you’ve never driven a fast car on a race track
@@DrSweetshaft obviously you're dumb af. I have a 911 also. I usually drive it on track every Sundays of the month. What a great opportunity u had to be quiet.
Mustang driver never gonna catch the Porsche upshifting as slow as he’s doing it & needs to be a little. more aggressive in his overall driving too.
Mustang sounds awesome but the 911 was pinning the mustang in the corners knowing the mustang can’t take it in the corners and leaving him on the straights.
Exactly! Just two good friends having a great time!
@@tekyguy that is so awesome !! What a great time it must have been. Hopefully you have many more track days ahead of you!
That was cute. No Mustang can ever pass a Porsche .
I pass Porsches all day long at track days in the GT350. It all comes down to the driver. The GT350 really is damn close to the GT3 in performance and in this video I’m running a super sport tire and the 911 is running a cup2.
Dude, he stomps past a 996 like, 30 seconds into the video.
'17 Shelby filmed and recorded in 2000 🤔 Better take this down before the MIB come knocking on your door 😲
Great vid though 👍🏽 Just pure engine noises, no music, no voices, no annoying sounds. Just pure unaltered *'Merica* 🤤
get the F*CK out of my way Audi- Gt350
Hahahaha yes! Thanks for watching!
I'd rather have that yellow S4 than either of those 2 cars.
He needs gas, tho lol. I wonder which gets better fuel efficiency there. My Mazda3 went through half a tank in three 20-minute sessions. My WRX was practically empty after 2 or 3 sessions.
The GT3 has a long range fuel tank. I think 20 gallons! Fuel consumption is very similar between the two but I have to fill up the GT350 more often with the 16 or so gallon tank.
5.7 vs 3.8
Good driving. Seems the GT3 driver should have pointed you by as you were faster. With equal drivers the GT3 should lap faster. Andy pilgrim at NCM was 4 sec faster in a 991.2 GT3 compared to a Shelby GT350.
Thank you for the kind words! Wow 4 seconds is a lot. I’ve driven these two cars back to back at Watkins Glen on the same Cup2 tires and did 2:11 in both cars. They were actually within a half of a second. To be fair it was my first time ever driving the GT3 on track and I’d had plenty of seat time in my GT350. Thanks for watching!
@@tekyguy Actually as I look at it again I think the GT3 you are chasing is a 991.1 (2014-16) and in Andy's video he was driving a 991.2 GT3 (2018). The "dot 2" has about 25hp more and is definitely quicker. That may partly explain why they were closer in your WGI laps. Cheers!
@@patmcgee1996 yes the car I’m chasing is a 2015. That does make a bit more sense!
