That’s not negativity from Chevy guys I like both cars but you compare a new mustang against and older corvette get the same year corvette and do this.That vette is a C5.Get a C6 and that’s older if you get the C7 Z06 that’s the new vette the Mustang would not stand a chance.But I see a lot of this people racing a corvette but it will be a older one race year for year. Obviously a C5 vette can’t run with a C7 vette.But I do like that mustang GT 350
martin sledge I’m in love with the 350 and I’m a Ford fan, but you got a point. Those c7 Z06 are pretty nasty but you are looking at a more expensive vehicle also.

A got my GT350R in my stable and that makes me very happy Taking Carroll out for a walk is like defcon leavel 1 readyness on takeoff. Then coming back home is like a landing approach of a B52 bomber on area 51 after carpet bombing the area hahaha 😂

@@02hreblue30 I used to leave the door closed too out of respect for the elderly couple who lived in front but they both passed away about a year ago :( very nice people RIP. Now I got a good friend that lives down the block and he has a Super Snake :) Well now we just love lighting up them powder kegs just to make the other one smile 💪🏼😂😂😂😂
@@02hreblue30 And I bet your local ford dealer hates it as much as your neighbors. So much so that ford discontinued the vooblew engine instead of continuing to try and resolve the inherent issues with the FPC implementation they choose to bring to market. One positive thing from the effort was a great and very stiff valve train.

Charles Hosea the GT350 doesn’t have an auto rev match but it is surprisingly easy to rev match especially since this was my first trackday in the car. Thanks for commenting. -Adam

Have to agree with you there.....that high RPM whine of the flat plane crank engine is beautifully unique. Sorry, though, I have an issue with the title of this video....Chasing a Corvette ZO6? The GT350 spent a hell of a lot more time losing the Vette in his rear mirror than chasing him!

@@Loulovesspeed no C5Z is going to get passed that easy if he's mashing the pedal, they're low/mid 12s, gt350r low/mid 12s with slightly higher mph in quarter, it's not a significant difference. any true enthusiast knows that. but of course id agree the gt350r is a better overall performer.

Yes, I never actually shifted at 8250RPM. I set the shift light at 7600 so I'm usually shifting between 7500-7800RPM.
What year is this GT350 and does it have any modifications ?
It was a 2017, and it was stock till Adam sold it.

Ryan Schunk I'm a Mustang fan. I have a mint foxbody tube car. I have to say that I think that corvette driver was sleeping. The mustang is definitely awesome but I would hope that the Corvette could keep up better than that. That was ridiculous.

No, because it won't. The GT350 has variable valve timing.
Why?
VTEC isn't variable valve timing it's variable valve lift it has a high lift cam it psychically switches too only the k series VTEC engines have vtc on the cam gears and it's combined with lift ITS CALLED LIFT

the 350 has very little torque under 4500RPM. Its made for mid and high range power only
Wondering how long it will be before that sound gets tiresome, has to happen, I like it but it will get old without some relief

Anthony Beck I don’t think I ever used the quiet switch. Random fact though, when you shift into 6th gear it automatically goes into quiet mode. If you go full throttle and the RPM goes above about 3k it opens back up. -Adam
It sounds Awesome! but it wouldn't do me any good to own a car like this, because I would have to sleep in it, because all my paychecks would be spent in gas & given to the state troopers.

A C5 Z06. I was disappointed. Nice video but you need stronger competition.
That C5Z didn't really look like he was going at it full on or it was an '01, not like everyone at track days goes at it full attack mode. All one needs to do is measure up the raw acceleration performance, the GT350 is roughly on par in raw acceleration with a C5Z (C5Z is slightly faster against a GT350, not a GT350R though) but I'll concede handling to the GT350. Not bad considering the C5Z is a roughly 15 year older car now and costs less than half what a GT350 does. One could likely upgrade the brakes, seats, and suspension on a C5Z and still clock in for a lot less than a new GT350. $58k+ is a lot of dinero for a Mustang.

I drove my friend’s 2017 Z06 and I disagree. Even him, the Z06 owner agreed the Shelby sounds better.
