Battling with another race cars on Anneau du Rhin ( ADR ) with Corvette C6 Z06.
It was an easy ride, no hard pushing, no curbs. Best time on this day 1.43min for the 3.7km track variant.
This screaming LS7 Motor is pure ARMAGEDDON which take no prisoners ( as seen on some stickers on corvettes :D ).

C5Z with long tubes and exhaust sounds better than the C6Z with same IMO. Obviously the LS7 makes more power NA though.

Absolutely crazy. Some of those turns I said "Yeah he's for sure oversteering, but he's gonna save it." Nope... it just sticks and sticks. Handles like a champ! On coilovers? Car sounds amazing btw!
Thx! To be honest, my fastest laps were 10+ seconds faster than in the video. Actually i just tested my camera/mic setup there for the first time.
Suspension is a Bilstein Callaway setup with some Progress sway bars.

I have the LS7 in my 2013 427 CE roadster. What gears did you use (corners/straights)? I have not been able to push over 5000 RPM yet as the police would impound me at the corresponding speed.

In this video (was testing my setup) it was almost all the time the 3rd and on the straights the 4th.
The car feels pretty good between 4000 and 7000 RPM.
On hot laps i use 2nd/3rd for all the corners and short straights and the 4th for the longer straights..
With this monster torque numbers no need to go to the 1st unless you have slicks.

Bought my 427 Convertible last November with 4000 miles on it for under $60K. Most beautiful car I've ever seen. A C6 Z06 is one of THE great American cars ever built and timeless looks. It is truly an engineering masterpiece.

The Recorder itself is not connected. I just merge the sound file with the video file afterwards in FinalCut.

My car is not stock, sound is really different to a Z06 without any mods.

2nd lap that shift on the straight is music
Nice smooth laps in the Z. Really surprised you mostly just used 3rd gear through the track instead of bumping it down to 2nd in the tight spots. That 7L has the torque to pull through 3rd really well though so it may have only been able to shave off a little time on your laps.

Were not my fastest laps, just wanted to test the camera and microphone setup. But you´re right, 2nd in tight spots would be a bit faster.
Changed already many things, but the car looks almost stock:
Suspension, ZR1 spoilers and sway bars.
Engine everything NA related except cam.
Roll bar, Recaro seats and ZR1 brake(steel).
Longtube headers, x-pipe, custom welded OEM exhaust.

@@corvetteZ3r drive something different now. upgrade to zr1 would make everything stiffer, but the handling (especially the loose rear) would remain because both bars are just thicker.
I switched to PROGRESS sway bars. so I now have almost the thickness of a T1 (35mm) in the front, but in the rear I am at the thickness of a Z51 (25mm). Now I have a front that is very solid and a rear that twists slightly and thus the rear wheels have a lot of grip and almost no oversteer occurs.
But have a roll bar installed additionally.

@@halblegal You've done it EXACTLY the right way, you want that rear end to have the slightest give, or twist as you put it, so that it can absorb road irregularities and just corner better. A lot of people get the ass end too tight and it has a tendency to break traction.
Is that a Corsa Sport or Extreme Exhaust - sounds like it. Sounds awesome.

I just got a 09 zr1 zr3 the car is so fast omg its built 925 to the rear i honestly did not think it would be as fast as it is. We were doing 75 on the highway and broke them loose with ease. Tires coming it needs way better.traction its scary right now.

What you revving to in 2nd gear? My top end in 2nd gear is like 60mph. Shift at 7k in my camaro.
in 2nd around 90mph, 3-> 125 and 4-> 165.
redline in this setup right now is about 7200.
@halblegal gears must be different then mine. 3:42 gears and t56 I run. 113 is top of 3rd gear.

But i´m running now the 19/20 cup wheels with pretty new tires.
Tested 100-200kph (60~130mph in US) and was running into the limiter at GPS 201,7kph=125mph.

Car sounds spicy AF. What top speed did you hit?
on this track around 260kph/160mph GPS.
Why are you not downshifting? Yes, it makes torque down low and you can ride it out but everything works better using the correct gear, especially in low speed corners where being in a lower gear gets the diff working better on decel so you can tuck in better.
Tried, and i was faster. But not much faster. But the torque was much higher and the car oversteered more. I've done there longruns and was not searching for the last second....

24fps is more cinematic/real for action videos, thats why i choosed this.
maybe one addition, motion blur was too high from FCPX. Thats right.. already removed on newest video.

Upgrade those factory lifters and the LS7 is probably the best factory LS aside from the LS6.
And don´t forget the valve guides :) But after that you can have a lot of fun.
