  • MEDICAL PROVIDER EDUCATION:
On August 25, 2020, Dr. Brayden Yellman addressed a group of adult and pediatric psychiatrist with the primary intention of supplementing their medical knowledge of ME/CFS as it relates to their specific medical practices.
The purpose of the lecture was to acknowledge that many who suffer from ME/CFS are often mistakenly diagnosed with primary psychiatric conditions, often in the complete absence of any recognition of an underlying severe multi-system illness.
The lecture reviews a case presentation of a patient whom, by official psychiatric diagnostic standards put forth by the DSM V, appears to have multiple primary psychiatric illnesses.
The audience of providers is then challenged to question the utility and weaknesses of the existing diagnostic criteria for these psychiatric illnesses and is given a set of diagnostic tools to assist them in recognizing that the patient in this case presentation is actually suffering from prominent symptoms of ME/CFS.

I am writing this comment with an immense gratitude!! I am a Registered Nurse of almost 25 years and sadly I must say, many of the symptoms presented are ones that I suffer from. I am even more sad to say that I have suffered with those symptoms ++ . My mother experienced the same symptoms and died in 2014 as a result of pneumonia.
I have been researching on my own recently and I am so grateful for the validation of these symptoms!
I say Thank you, first and foremost the patient!
For me it has been most difficult to summarize the symptoms as I have experienced them for more than 1/2 of my life…
I have not been able to connect with providers in my area are are knowledgeable on your research and the research findings globally on myalgic encephalomyelitis!
Thank you to the research staff and all involved with the creation of this video and gathering of the data!!

I get very Potsy if I am exposed to foods I react to, especially hidden corn or gluten. Plus I have hEDS so I have to get enough salt + liquids, but I am stuck on a very limited diet. I do get the restless leg if I am low on certain vitamins. It goes away within 1 hour of I take the right supplement. Sometimes its iron or B1 or calcium/magnesium. It all depends what I am low on that day. And nonfood items can make me potsy too if it contains the hidden corn.
