Uriah Heep, los grandes olvidados 😢.
La Trinidad Impía los opacó, pero, son grandes!!
Lo mismo sucedió con ELO.
Adoro éstos genios de mi adolescencia 😊💓❤️💜
I love this whole album...
URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS from 1969 and still going were way ahead of their time.
Produced many masterpieces
They came to the Orlando Sports Stadium in mid 70's. I couldn't hear for 2 days. Loudest band ive ever heard✌️
I’m shocked! I seem to remember Uriah Heep quite often on the radio in the 70s. I had no idea that they were obscure. I remember that album art too
They followed this up in 1973 with Stealin'. Another great track.
Nope, the next album is The Magician's Birthday.
The Wizard is one you should also listen to.
Love some Heep. Magician's Birthday and Demons And Wizards are 2 of my favorite albums ever.
If you want some clever lyrics by Uriah Heep, listen to "Stealin'".
Well I stood on a ridge and shun religion, thinking the world was mine. I made my break and a big mistake, stealin’ when I should of been buying.
Or Magicans Birthday - my favorite of U.H.
Yes!
The entire album is excellent from start to finish.
I thought I was the only person in the world to have Uriah Heep albums.
Uriah Heep is an acquired taste, it's not for everyone. I, myself, actually love their uniqueness. There's really no one else like them.
URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS
I mean, I love them, but sometimes they sound a lot like early Deep Purple.
Not quite sure about their uniqueness
@@alexseraofficial9765 Well, yeah, I kinda get what you mean, but still, to me, there's a bit of distinction between them. Uriah Heep made songs like, "The Wizard", "Magician's Birthday", "Gypsy" and "Sunrise", these songs tell stories that give a person that feeling of like, fantasy and or something from the medieval time period and to me, that's unique. I've never got that type of feeling, listening to Deep Purple's music, but, I do respect your opinion. They implement the same type of instruments, so in that way, I know what you mean, they have that kind of sound.
This is one of those albums that you should listen to from beginning to end.
I was living on Mt Etna when I found Uriah Heep. Volcanic was the word. (1973, post Vietnam, doing physical therapy.)
Uriah Heep has gained more notoriety in recent years as pioneers of combining heavy rock and progressive pop / rock. "Look At Yourself" is another trademark song, likewise "July Morning".
"Why ?" is a piece containing arguably one of guitarist Mick Box' moments as a whole. He is the only original member in the band's current line-up all though it has been stable for years.
Circle of Hands ✋️
A short and sweet burning jam.
So many great 70's rock bands. Each seemed to have their own identity.
I saw these guys in concert with Wishbone Ash in the early '70's. It took place in a relatively small concert hall that sat about 3,200 people. Both bands were absolutely incredible and one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
The entire Demons and Wizards is a fantastic album. One song you must, you must, you must do is Phoenix by Wishbone Ash off of their debut album.
To me The better version of The Phoenix is on live dates but I am so envious you got see both of these in there prime.
@@bobcorbin3294
I believe those live versions are from the mid-eighties if I remember correctly. I'd say the original studio version would be the best listen. Live would be great but I'm not sure it's the original band.
they have dozens of incredible songs. Look At Yourself
Bird of Prey, Sweet Freedom. Sunshine., Pilgrim, Prisoner, Thats The Way That It Is, Salisbury, July Morning, Stealing, Sweet Lorraine, Circus, Lady In Black, Time To Live, etc
Yes the list goes on, great unique music from this Legendary talented Band.
Demons & Wizards, Magician's Birthday & Sweet Freedom are 3 great Albums
@@mrdemocracy7106 Salisbury is the most perfect!!!
When I was a kid (born in 70) my dad had ALL their albums, so I love them, and hearing them makes me feel like I'm home! To this day when we get to visit, we play old Uriah Heep. My favorite has always been Blind Eye, and dad's favorite is Poet's Justice. I love your reactions and how thorough you guys always are, taking your time with each song and pointing out all elements while having an open mind to music from way before your time. I appreciate you guys, and you crack me up!!!
Saxon and Uriah heep are on tour right now
"Sweet Loraine" that's the song from this album.
Infectious FM gold from the magnificent seventies. Hints and traces of Yes, Boston, Deep Purple and KISS. The abrupt ending is reminiscent of the ending of “Detroit Rock City”.
Magician's Birthday is killer.
OMG! I forgot how much I liked this tune……thanks for this reaction 🥰🔥
"Stealin", "Rainbow Demon" and "Lady In Black" by them should be on your list. For a few more mellow, "Rain" and "Tales" are great also.
Love the art work on the record albums. I remember staring at them while listening to the lp and if the lyrics were on the inside, following along with that as well my grandson loves the song the Wizard from this album not a very long tune, but a great one!
Guys, thanks for the reaction! I strongly recommend you listen and react to PILGRIM. The power of the vocals and an all-out performance from the band! Cheers!
amazing prog with their ' Salisbury ' track from the album of the same name
Great song from a really good band.
Uriah Heep is an acquired taste. That said; they one of.my favorite bands.
Got the bobble head action goin …. Love it!
Great tune off an album with artwork by the legendary artist Roger Dean
This is a good band I remember hearing them on my brothers turn table. It’s a great tune 🎵 I remember the singer being skinny and tall wearing leopard pants
Magicians BIRTHDAY!!
If you get it, you get it ❤
"July Morning" from this album is FABULOUS!!! You react please!!!
July Morning is from another album! This composition is from Demons and Wizards, and July Morning is from Look at Yourself!
Try their song "Shadows of Grief" -- a very heavy song for '71. "July Morning" is awesome, too.
Try "look At Yourself" and "July Morning" from the album, Look At Yourself. Great all around album and my introduction to them after coming home from Southeast Asia.
This whole album is worth a listen. I never heard of them til a few years ago.
one of the coolest bands of all time - soundtrack to my teens - you should consider doing the entire album - every song is a banger
ive heard someone do the cover of this song but ive never heard the Uriah Heep version
One of many tunes of my teenage years!
This song is perfect
Stealin' has one of my favorite lines of any Rock Song - I done the rancher's daughter,
And I sure did hurt his pride
My favorite of their songs. I have a couple of their albums that belonged to my ex husband. They will go to my kids. 😀
In the army in Germany out of everyone having stereos I was the only who had this album. One guy heard it and borrowed it
As always I enjoy the chemistry on this channel . It's almost more fun when you don't always agree. Music likes are the results of where you have been ....
Saw them and Deep Purple live in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1995
Their songs "The Wizard" and "Lady In Black" are great tunes that you also have to check out.
Love this song.. good choice ❤
Saw Heep in Detroit as a warm up band for Kiss musically they blew Kiss out of the water.
Me too, in Ft Worth.
I like their song Stealin" .
They are known for using a tea kettle in their songs.
Give a listen to these two songs on Heep's Look at Yourself album: "Look at Yourself" and "Tears in My Eyes". Cheers.
Lady in black is a great song too.
U guys really whiffed in this one! Great song!!!!
He actually has an awesome voice. Try Sweet Lorraine, Spider Woman. A song that has become a fav of mine which isn't normally my style is the song Rain. A slow but beautiful song.
Actually saw them at the Texas Jam in the early 1980s in Houston.
magician's birthday...a must listen
I forgot you had done them before... It for sure is a 70's song! It does remind me of Yes... It's a solid song. Not a go to song but it is good and fun! Base is pretty prominent. Lead singer is good!
Great, heavy song: especially when cranked to 10.
This whole album is exceptional it's my favorite by the band
David Byron is an exceptional singer you might want to rethink it and wait till you hear other stuff?
🍀🍀
Nice choice. Moody Blues at some point - "Lovely to See You" perhaps? And I truly love to see youngsters in appreciation of sounds that I grew up with.
👍✌
Except for the cars and surrounding scenery, "Dog Day Afternoon" holds up well. "And Justice For All" is another one while you're checking out young Pacino films.
Opened for Kiss in Ft Worth about 1976. Much better musically.
Nice way to keep mixing up the genres and time periods, guys. If there is an interest in diving into more "eclectic" sounding British music from the late 1960s/1970s, Jethro Tull might be worth a shot. Some of the more highly recognized Tull songs could include "Aqualung," "Locomotive Breath," "Living In The Past," and "Bungle in the Jungle" among others. If there is interest in going with a more direct 1970s rock sound from a British band, Bad Company might be a choice. Song options include: "Bad Company," "Can't Get Enough," "Feel Like Makin' Love," "Shooting Star," and "Rock and Roll Fantasy" as all recognizable hits. Hope the suggestions may help...keep up the great work!
Another 1960s/early 1970s UK band that might, unfortunately, not be as well remembered but worth a shot for a reaction is Badfinger. For those that may not be aware, the band that would become Badfinger auditioned in front of The Beatles for that band's Apple Recods and after The Beatles, Badfinger was reportedly the 2nd act signed to the label. There is an urban (musical) legend that some music fans of the time, as Badfinger was gaining popularity and due to their close relationships with The Beatles (who were in the midst of their breakup but still individually continued to work with Badfinger), could possibly be The Beatles recording under a different name. During Badfinger's peak, the group had 4 top 10 hits in the US and 3 top 10 hits in the UK during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their most recognizable songs might include: "Come and Get It" (written by Paul McCartney), "No Matter What," "Day After Day" (performed on and produced by George Harrison), and "Baby Blue" (produced by the successful American artist Todd Rundgren; This song was significantly featured in the series finale of "Breaking Bad," which Nick may be a fan of if his choice of t-shirts in earlier reactions is any indication). While the group's biggest success was limited to just a few years, many musicians and music critics have pointed out Badfinger as a group besides The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and other heavyweights that could switch between pop and rock music at a time when that might be more uncommon for bands. A great example of this is the fact that the very well known ballad "Without You" (written by members of Badfinger) was a smash hit by Harry Nilson, a close friend of John Lennon's at the time. Unfortunately, Badfinger's fate became a terrible cautionary tale of the music business. With Apple Records struggling due to the litigation and in-fighting among The Beatles, along with what some believe was not equitable treatment by Badfinger's management, two of the members tragically took their own lives. Despite such an unfortunate development, Badfinger left behind a lot of very interesting music for its time period and helped show, in some ways, the types of directions that former Beatles members may take in their own future solo musical endeavors. Badfinger is definitely worth giving a shot to on the channel if the guys want to continue down this 1970s UK musical journey.
Guys, what you need to try and remember and appreciate is while we were growing up with all these amazing bands, that each and every one were completely new sounds to us. We were inundated with a barrage of some of the greatest music of all time. We'd catch these bands on the radio and then explore them by buying albums and going to their concerts. As a generation we matured musically with each band on each of their new releases. It became somewhat of a friendly contest to see who could discover the newest up and coming hot band and introduce them to our crowd of friends. When they say it was the time of "sex, drugs and rock and roll" accept it as gospel.
Sweet Lorraine from The Magician's Birthday is good.
Any time you listen to Uriah Heep it MUST BE FROM THEIR LIVE ALBUM January 1973.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if this was one of Tom Scholz's influences. Can hear a lot of this in Boston.
Try stealin and July morning...great songs
The hottest 2 minutes ish in rock history.
In honor of Black History Month
Sly & Family Stone- Thank You ( Faletme be mice elf agin) ( 70) 🔥
The funkiest song ever written.
July Morning is more your style live
5:23 LOL
I can hear the opening riff in my head before you even start the video.
Easy Livin'. Failed to charter in the UK, unlike several of the albums.
They are 50yrs just Mick Box guitar and founder left all have died
Saw them open for Jethro Tull at Madison Square Garden and The Spectrum. 78 or 79 ?
I saw that too but in Kalamazoo Mi I think it was oct 78 it was an amazing show!
Saxon y’all got to listen Saxon there metal gods
I have heard this before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dog Day Afternoon, so it wasn’t from there. But I do like it. It has a great classic rock feel to it along the lines of some Deep Purple or Grand Funk Railroad songs I’ve heard. And I agree - MUCH better than the first one you played.
Listen to the band Three Man Army CD 1971
Try Lady In Black next
Off topic:
Do you love saxophone? Please give a listen to Lady Blue by Leon Russell
Try Sweet freedom or Circle oh Hands by them
Uriah Heep is the band that Deep Purple was striving to be
richardcranium5048...
So glad Deep Purple fired Rod Evans.
He landed in.......
CAPTAIN BEYOND 🤘
if you like this you should really check out "30 Days in the Hole" from Humble Pie. Sex,Drugs and Rock&Roll.
David Byron was a very talented vocalist--had his own style but was right up there with Ian Gillan and Robert Plant at the time. You can hear him shine in "July Morning" and "Circle of Hands". One of my favorites, a longer song with a section highlighting Mick Box's guitar and Lee Kerslake's drumming, is "The Magician's Birthday". Kerslake was a top drummer and, I believe, was in Ozzie Osborne's first solo band. "Stealin'" is well worth a listen as are many others.
please do Phil Collins I don’t care anymore and or Genesis - Mama
Listen to that organ man ........................................
I’m with you Ryan. I grew up with the music of this period and despite my friends having this album in their collections I was never able to gel with Uriah Heep. I wanted to but just couldn’t
Come Away Melinda.
It was fucking popular rock!
I don't know if anyone talked about this in these comments but this song is about a guy who is rejoicing because he has just put his faith in Jesus and he is overjoyed in the happiness he has found. That is what Uriah Heep was all about, believe it or not!
Nice!
I recommend look at yourself
That driving saturated overdriven keyboard.
Ken Hensly's Hammond organ and Leslie speaker. There's more organ than guitar on this track.
I always took this to be a Christian song; same with "Stealin'," which by the way you should definitely listen to because that's a much better song than this. ("Easy Livin'" is just okay for me.) Also definitely listen to "The Wizard" and "That's The Way That It Is," which was done nearly a decade later with their third lead singer. (R.I.P. original lead singer David Byron.🌹)
