- I couldn't let this one go. After getting the two trucks next to it running in a previous video, • Will it run? 3 three o... I kept thinking about this one just sitting there waiting for a turn at life. It is in bad shape. The engine is seized tight and parts are missing all over. Come along while I give this one a try!

Good morning Christine! We missed you. In the last show! Welcome!!!
I'm here! I didn't let people know I existed for a while:-)
Those ol' 4.9s have been bullet proof for me. Had a '78, '80 and I still have my '88.
Thanks 👍 That Custom is still pretty solid for her age.
With the current price of new and even used trucks so friggin high, she might be worth the trouble...
I agree. With about $1000 in parts, add some tires, and you would have a work truck that will last forever.
@@whattherust And NO smog checks!
Wow! I thought that thing was doomed. Well done!
Thanks! It was a lot of fun.
those are real trucks. Strong then the tin cans they sell these days
We novices learn so much from your revival 'teaching' when you show all your work when getting those beauties running again. The younger generations don't know what their missing when you can fix stuff yourself, especially on the old classic cars. So easy! Also Will and Teresa Saying hi from Chandler AZ!
Thank you and hello from Nashville!
''Six in a row and you're ready to go, If it's six inline she'll be fine, Inline Six is easy to fix.'' My father always used to say those, be it a GM, Ford, Chrysler gas or diesel inline 6 is the most durable, cheapest and easiest to repair of all engines. Having watched him own many, and owning many myself in my 54 years I'd have to agree. Glad I found your channel about a week ago. Been marathoning your videos in my free time. Absolutely love your gravity fed fuel funnel technique, I might have to steal that myself. haha Great work getting this, and all of the other old iron going again!
Thank you! I love that "inline six is easy to fix". I had not heard it before, but it certainly is true. I have been using that :funnel fuel system" for more years than I can remember, and it has never let me down. It is surprising how much fuel pressure it makes.
My grandpa swore by these engines ford 200,240,300 inline 6 are the one's And the gm 250 inline 6 cyl the 200-300 inline 6 cyl Ford motors are torquey and have decent hp, and the gm 250 L6 are so reliable they are almost bulletproof and durable good low end torque but no power lol, and the gm292 L6 would run off and leave the gm250L6...
Keep reviving these old Fords and I’ll keep watching. 👍🏻. As soon as I saw this one was a straight 6, I knew it was gonna fire up!
Me too. I just couldn't leave it for dead.
"IT'S ALIVE!" lol. Another great victory.
Thanks! I really like that red one, even though it is very rough. All of them are still in that field waiting to be sold.
Oh my god your smile when that thing started up said it all. :D that's my favorite feeling in the world is fixing a car .
Cool vid! I’d pull that carb apart before it catches fire! Lol
yet another great restore well done
You didn’t give up and we’re determine to make it run. Great video engine sounded very good.
Thanks! Never give up.
straight 6 one of my favourite engines
Nice one u didn't give up
Hope this one is saved. Love those old Fords.
Love your Videos . I like that you start these forgotten cars and trucks . Nice work 😊
Thanks very much! I am pretty sure this red Ford was going to be junked if I wasn't able to start it. I was happy to be able to save it.
Hey Prague. Good video. I enjoyed it. You are one of those guys that just go looking for trouble.👀😏 And you find it. It is a cool old truck. Amazing my friend what you are getting done. You said that it was hot there. I live in Ontario Canada and it is still cold here. I put out a cold start challenge last week, but I will put this OLD START in the first place. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
Thanks Andy! This one gave me some trouble for sure.
Now you got to find a three or four speed transmission.... Instrument cluster lot of wiring welding some flooring but hell yeah I take that truck and a split second
Right, and the transmission is there, just not installed.
SKILZ you have them in spades Richard.👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you Dan.
Ya time to quit before you catch the forest on fire, great video
Thanks. Yes I had the fire extinguisher on the ready!
@@whattherust I enjoy your videos, but please don't set yourself on fire. That open exhaust manifold with fuel dripping on it, possibly spewing hot carbon particles from dirty combustion chambers --- yikes.
@@johnwsimpson3153 Yes, that was unfortunate and ended any further progress on the truck.
I just got my inline 6 started after about 3 months of sitting after an axle/oil pan breaking accident. I cut the muffler and cat out, and man it puts a smile on my face every time I hear it. I love open exhaust 6 cyls. Awesome video!!! Have a good and blessed one! (Or two)
Thanks! Yes, that sound is fantastic.
Need to go north and do one in the winter adds a whole new dimension snow etc. I’m from IL and had plenty of it working on cars outside in the snow and cold. Would be fun to watch you experience a cold weather rescue you would earn even more respect points and bet it would be a popular episode.
I might be able to do that right here in Tennessee. This morning the temperature was -1!
amazing start
Thanks Kevin. I really enjoyed this one, because the truck had zero chance of survival the way it was.
The 300 straight 6 is pretty much bullet proof . My daily driver is a 96 F150 with the 351 windsor. It has a 178. 000 and runs like a top. I religiously maintain it. Take care of your old Ford and it will take care of you. Great work sir. Amazing what can be accomplished with a little work and patience.
So true.
Those 300s are a good engine
They are. I love them.
Good luck sir❤
Great video man I can't wait to see more
Thanks! More are coming!
Nice Ford, great video, ty
Thanks!
Awesome! She sounds great! 👍 I think this truck is definitely worth getting on the road again. Even if just as a work truck. Great job!
Exactly! It will never be a show truck, but it could be a good work truck.
Nice job Prague
Thank you Robert!
Watching here mindoro occidental province Philippines....
Smooths sounds!
That one was quite a challenge. Hopefully someone will at least save that engine.
Hopefully someone makes a work truck out of it.
Once you got that 300 six where it would turn over there was no doubt that it would at least run.
That is what I was thinking. Those engines are so good it was going to run.
That old Ford will take a lot of time and patience, and some money, but it could reasonably be repaired and put back on the road as a driver. It can never be a new truck again but as a daily driver or work truck it's perfect.
100% agree. $1,000 + tires and this would be safely back on the road.
If a little hammer doesn't work get a bigger one!
I own a dually wrecker
I’d love to see you acquire and sell more of these like the other Red one you sold. Eventually I might be able to buy one lol! Cool videos and great work and knowledge!!
Thanks! I am working on buying a couple of vehicles shortly. Plus you can check out my series on the blue 1980 F100. I bought that one and it come out pretty good.
who would have thought it'd run after the first turn of the crank? :D
but it runs, as neglected and as stripped as it may be.
you know, here is a thought... I had it happen that neglected vehicles had mufflers rusted inside and collapsed to block the exhaust. here, there was no resistance at all, and nothign to blow free first... it might be worth the experiment of removing exhaust pipes from engines that won't really start first, or won't idle.
I have seen that happen, although not often. Pipes get bent or a muffler baffles rusts and blocks flow.
OK. You did a great job getting those 3 trucks running. What's next for these little jewels?
Thanks! They are still for sale, but the owner is thinking of keeping the white one now. All of them can be saved,
when u take the cap of the starter ,,be sure and GREASE the ends of the brass bushings
That's right. I do the same, and I stay away from using the sticky grease that is common today.
You can mark your plug wires with wooden closes pins numbered 1 through 6 or 8
Maybe you can do a find and restore with Vice Grip Garage, he just moved to Tennessee. He does these finds like you do.
That would be cool. He knows his stuff.
The resistance from the old cable screwed up the starter
This old truck that was scavenged for parts maybe the best one, engine wise.
Definitely better than the green one. I really liked this truck, even though it was very rough.
I bet it would actually idle, or at least run better, if you hooked that rubber PCV hose to the PCV valve. Huge vacuum leak there, my man. Easy to overlook the "small" stuff.
That would be nice dropped on a Crown Victoria or Town Car chassis
Too low.
Personally I blame squirrels
What's up
Hey, make life easier...pick up a remote switch, sure makes starting these oldies easier, especially Fords.
I finally have one. It makes life a lot easier whenever the starter solenoid is reachable.
Need to do something about the volume of sound it's real low even with phone up full but grat videos
Thanks! I am picking up a mic this weekend. Strange though it sounds fine on mine.
You can mark your with widened clothes pines numbered
Hi
Did you yank that good starter an d return or shelf it? Coil?
I put the old starter back in when I was done. I don't recall what I did with the coil, but I think I found one for it and left it installed in the truck.
How did you come up with Prague life
I lived in Prague for many years. When youtube was new I needed a channel name and just thought that since I lived there I would name it Prague Life.
Have you seen what velocity restorations has been building there's a CZcams channel with the name..?
Why does it have a new oil filter on it if you haven't done anything to it prior to this vedio?
It isn't new. The owner told me that truck had been sitting in a field with the parts removed long before he got it, and that was years ago.
how long have you been out of Massachusetts? What gave it away was when you said it doesn't have to be "MINT"Lol.. 300 inline 6 in my opinion is the best engine Ford ever made. What do you think is causing the massive leak? Big fan of your channel, Keep up the good work.
Ah yes, "mint". That was, maybe still is, such a popular term up there. I was there until 2003. I find it interesting how people in Mass have their own vernacular that is totally different from other parts of the country. Most of the stars in Hollywood that try to mimic the accent and the words used fail terribly, but the "smart park" Volkswagen commercial nails it.
Hey that's my last name
Gas in hot exhaust pipe😕
🚒 😂 great videos keep them coming! 🙂
Where is your wife?
Sometimes I go solo, but not too often.
Typical ford, your GM junk would still be stuck!
