Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church took a few people to Mount Saint Helens shortly after it blew up. He was able to bring back some things like Pumas, and other rocks from the site in a Gorge around the Mount Saint Helens site. He decided to take some of the rocks and send them to Laboratories to find out when they were formed. Now when one laboratory comes up with their answers on when they were formed, they carefully repackage the rocks and send them to four other Laboratories to see if their results are synonymous. When this was all said and done those rocks came back to the original laboratory that Bob took them to. When Bob talked to the scientist he originally gave the rocks to, he asked him, so how old are these rocks? When were they formed? The scientist said all the data from all the Laboratories State they were formed millions of years ago give or take a few million years. Then the scientists asked Bob where did you get these rocks? Bob said at Mount Saint Helens about 2 weeks ago! It left those evolutionary scientists absolutely speechless.

When you look at megalithic structures you cannot conclude the people that built them were dumber than we are today. And therefore, you can't conclude they were made naturally over the process of millions of years, because their architecture was extremely complex. The more complex something is, the higher the chance it was created by a designer and the lesser chance that it was randomly generated overtime.

    So,
I'm sorry for the wall of text that is about to follow but after watching your video, (more than once) there are some points that need to be addressed and I've made my notes below if you are interested in them.
To note, I am agnostic, I find there is much missing in science as well as in religious texts but I try to understand as much as i can and keep an open mind about most things.
I do feel that you could make a very interesting video about nothing else than the absolute morality topic at the end of this video, but I've made an interesting comment on that myself in the notes below.
This didn't shatter my worldview but also didn't really tell me anything new.
    My notes.
02:50 you state that words couldn't appear spontaneously however most kids have at some point seen a word that formed within their alphabet spaghetti without direct intervention.
within this same arch, the "Language" you define for DNA is a set of codes we as humans have assigned them based on the chemical compositions that are contained.
05:00 timescales are important, current estimates put the theory of abiogenesis at approximately 4 - 4.3 Billion years ago, a few million years as quoted, is the typical estimation for most noticeable divergences of speciation, you may think of this as the time for a new species of dog to have emerged naturally (not selectively bred for).
05:20 All life is at it's most basic parts simply a series of repeating chemical reactions, this "life from matter" speech is a little misconstrued in this context.
05:30 there are many different religious people from different faith backgrounds within the scientific community.
06:00 we've not seen new matter naturally come into existence because of those previously noted timescales. the planet is approx 4.6 Billion years old, early chemical reactions started within the first 500 million - 1 billion years by which point most chemical reactions have built chains of order, one feeding on the byproduct of another and in some cases combining as a result, the current understanding of science (broadly used) has been around only a few thousand years. Our observable conditions are drastically different from when they first emerged. throughout human history however we have synthetized many new constructs including basically all known medicine.
06:30 one book is not indicative of all knowledge, this is as much the truth for science as it is religion.
07:30 Quite underhanded to assume that the moment someone stops to think over the best way to answer a question is indicative of not having an answer, nor would giving an answer without the correct context make any greater sense.
08:40 you asked about intelligent design, he responded with an answer around intelligent design, one of many theories that surround the origin of life and in this case is on a par scale of a biblical creation, the idea that something we can't prove or disprove created everything we know. please see also the simulation hypothesis or Abiogenesis for some other alternatives.
09:30 continuation of the above point. He answered a question with one theory, interestingly a similar (if somewhat simplified) process of this is often in use today, selectively breading particular species for a desired result. we call it animal husbandry and is used to create cows with a higher milk yield for example.
10:00 again misconstrued and simplified that you would assume this is a cyclic event, it is a singular theory not one supported by all scientists, indeed the general view is to not assume Aliens for anything until all other more rational ideas are exhausted.
10:45 The bible is known to have been written and rewritten multiple times over and over to appeal to modern cultures and thinking, true of all beliefs (in this context science is included), however the term blind faith is indicative of one without evidence. your evidence is that you can see complex things but don't understand how they came to be a process that science tries to answer rather than accept.
10:50 "... and it does, over and over again." (confirm the existence of god), could you please give some examples of this confirmation?
11:15 If we all come from just one descendant, then surely our entire gene pool should be littered with the effects known from inbreeding.
11:50 just to confirm, but did you just akin the fossil records to the great flood? even though their time range as understood from carbon dating (among other processes) differs massively from those in the bible.
12:18 "I believe..." (in the context of flood water), arguably the biggest factor in the whole debate, science can give you a reason for how and why those different layers exist but what knowledgebase do you have to support your belief?
15:15 You acknowledge that the process typically takes much longer periods of time and that the layers observed have a variable makeup, i implore you to look up geo sampling techniques to further your understanding on the topic but in short there ways in which rapid changes in atmosphere (specifically in local regions) such as this eruption, are logged. this acknowledges that such extreme changes can occur but in for example the grand canyon, rock samples at different depths will result the variable changes over many many years.
15:55 you are even using biblical articles to uphold your argument, attempting to highlight them as real news, as before, i implore you to review more than a single source of information before making such claims.
17:50 while we are on the topic of "the great flood", could you please explain to me where all this water came from and where it went after, with all the previous articles you've mentioned large bodies of water rapidly shaping the landscape and used a real world example to try to uphold this ideal, but in the real world examples, geological events impacted current bodies of water in isolated environments not globally and without a starting event.
18:00 the process of fossilization takes a long time (normally), the death of the object being fossilized may have come rather swiftly. once immobile, that fossilization process could take as long as is needed, dead things rarely move.
18:40 this accounts for the laboratory conditions, many of the bacteria and other processes that would be natures way of acting this process are removed (as much as possible) to test specific reactions as desired by an experiment. this is generally a standard practice in labs to understand specifics rather than try to identify which process did what.
22:50 Ice ages (glaciation events) have occurred many time in our history and can be found in rock samples around the world as well as in the polar regions themselves. the preceding video to this was littered with factual inadequacies and missing information, again, please look up some information on these events and their supporting evidence.
23:00 "This explains the world" I'm not following... nothing you have said or shown has helped to interpret any of the multitude of events that lead us to where we are nor do they take into account a great deal of our history
24:00 basically what i just said above, you choose to ignore a great deal of the known history of earth.
26:00 You seem to hinge the argument here on the age of the earth being around 6,000 years old, even though you admit things like dinosaurs and thorns and even cavemen came before this period.
26:30 "One creation scientist i know..." again, singular sample sizes are not the most reliable, that is often considered one of the corner stones of science. Typically, if it is not replicable, it's refutable.
27:25 "one infallible dating method..." again my last point, singular sample sizes are not reliable.
27:45 absolute morality... this is a wonderful topic that really deserves more of your time. Right and Wrong are not fixed concepts, if they were our legal system would have no need for change, topics such as war and slavery which were often considered to be in the name of religion and progress would still be in place today as an absolute word, however we know this is not the right way. acknowledging change, difference and understanding, developing culture over time (one might say culturally evolving) is what has moved us from a tribal species into a global one.
A good example of this is the indigenous people of North sentinel island, they have had very little interaction with the outside world and ate the last missionary that tried to tell them they were wrong.
Thank you for anyone who reads this.

I assume you haven’t given much thought to your answer, nor could you wrap your mind around what was said in the video. I suggest you do more research on your own with an open mind. Your rhetoric indicates a mind set on continuing with the failed Darwinian course of thinking. One of your greatest points of pure ignorance is the statement about the Bible having been written over and over. However, it has not been changed from the first known existence of God’s word. So, I believe you have it confused with the Quran, which has been changed and several different examples exist today. I stopped reading your monologue after that false Bible statement. I know it’s hard for a brain washed mind to grasp the important truths of this video. So read the Bible, study it daily, and continue to do your research. Maybe you will be able to grasp the truth eventually. God said in his word, seek and you shall find. But, you have to want to find the truth regardless of where it leads. If you refuse to consider that your enemy could possibly be right you can never, just as Dawkins, come to the full knowledge of the truth.

      Deal
      1. He claims that DNA supports God's existence because DNA is not info itself without a language, and that this language must've been created by God.
This is a misunderstanding of DNA on a very basic level. If you throw a ball, you're not sending the ball secret encrypted messages in a hidden language, you're just causing a reaction that, due to the laws of our universe, causes the ball the move. As such, although it can be helpful to imagine DNA as a language, this is simply not true. At its core level, DNA is just molecules arranged in a way so that when other molecules interact with it, it does certain things. This requires no secret languages or intelligent beings, it's simply how the universe works.
      2. I think for a second there he started talking about how DNA only comes from DNA and can't come from nonliving matter?
Yes, it is true that scientists aren't 100% sure how the first life formed, but this doesn't mean you can just god-of-the-gaps your way in and claim it proves your God. The ancient Greeks didn't understand lightning, they guessed that it was a god, and they were wrong. Why is now any different?
It then spends multiple minutes rambling about DNA being a language with God the author, yada yada. Yeah no, as I said, although it's similar to a language, DNA is really nothing more than chemicals arranged in a way that, under the right circumstances, creates life.
      4. He then says life is too complicated to be formed by natural processes. Uh, no, life today is extremely complicated, but the very first life forms were extremely simple, simple enough that certain chemical reactions with a bit of luck could easily form it.
      5. Then he says how life requires information, and matter "never produces information," which makes me think this guy literally has no idea what he's talking about. If a rock rolls into a pond, it creates ripples. These ripples are obviously information- they can be observed and measured, and they weren't there before you threw the rock. Does this mean that rocks are secretly powered by God? Of course not, the information arose as a result of the unique interactions between the rock and its environment. Same with DNA.
Yaps about the same stuff a while longer, yada yada yada yada… *yawns*
      6. Shows a clip of Richard Dawkins not responding to a question about how new information evolves in matter, where he blanks out. Woah, an old guy blanks out for 5 seconds?! Darn, our entire theory is out the window! Might as well throw the research in the trash right now!! …like what is this dude on
By the way, in case you're wondering what and acceptable answer would've been... uh, mutations? That's kinda how evolution works. Mutations are born and selected upon by environmental pressures, bringing about changes in a species over generations. Nothing hard to understand about that. This is elementary school level science, and I don't understand why this man can't grasp it.
      7. I really don't know what Dawkins was talking about but even if that is what he meant, 1 dude saying something that vaguely aligns with what you believe doesn't mean a darn thing. We could have every single scientist in the world suddenly say that evolution is fake and it wouldn't change the fact that it isn't. Maybe Dawkins genuinely thinks this, maybe he has no idea what he's saying, maybe he's just crazy. I don't know, and I don't really care.
      8. He says that atheists don't have evidence for evolution... uh, we do? Like, has this guy ever been to, I don't know, a school? Fossil records, genetics, radiometric dating, every bit of evidence we can possibly find supports the theory.
      9. He says that the Bible "makes sense of the world..." yeah, this is funny by now. He's saying a story about worldwide floods, talking snakes, and magic powers is a good explanation for reality?
      10. He then claims we have good evidence of Noah's flood because we have fossils deposited by water all over the Earth. Uh, no, it just happens that the primary method of fossilization involves the fossil being submerged in water. Also, if a flood buried the fossils, wouldn't we expect them to be all mixed up in different layers? Why do fossils get more complex the higher and more recent they are? If it was all from a flood, we would certainly expect the water to mix them all around.
He then talks about how his view of reality somehow supports the formation of the Grand Canyon? Like what
      11. Then he says that Mt. Saint Helens produced large geologic changes over a short period of time. Yes, extremely large events can produce changes to the surface in a small area around them. Remember though, eruptions like this are quite rare, and only effect very small areas. For the incredible geology we have worldwide to form, it would require these types of events to be occurring for, you guessed it, millions of years.
Also, may I ask, how does this man suggest all the water appeared? The Earth doesn't contain anywhere even remotely close to the amount of water described in the Bible. Did God just, like, give the clouds magic infinite water powers, and then suck the water back into heaven when he was done or something?
      12. The video says that modern rivers don't generally dig into the Earth. Uh, what? Source please? Like what? This guy is just making up stuff at this point.
AND THEN THIS IS SO FUNNY LOL
LIKE 30 SECONDS LATER HE SAYS THAT RAINSTORMS CAN CREATE MINIATURE CANYONS!!! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL WHAT IS THIS GUY ON, HE LITERALLY CALLS IT FALSE WHEN IT SUPPORTS SCIENCE AND TRUE WHEN IT SUPPORTS HIM!!! LOL
      SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HECK LOL
"Modern rivers don't generally cut downward into the solid rock"
"A rainstorm can create miniature canyons in only minutes"
Man you just can't make this up xD
Then he says a bunch of nonsense about how canyons only form during "catastrophic processes" again, source please? Sir, you are not a geologist, please stop pretending...
He names a bunch more perfectly normal geologic processes and says they somehow support Noah's flood...
      13. FINALLY we're done with geology. OK, now he's saying that fossils only form over short periods of time. Again, source please? Also, just cause stuff can fossilize fast doesn't mean that instantly proves the Earth is some 6000 years old.
Alright, I think I've said enough. If there's any more of his nonsense you want me to explain, feel free to ask.

I enjoy looking at these comments. It really shows how people can think differently and not understand what others can understand so well. Listen... It takes more than just the Bible to understand God. It takes a Church, a strong spiritual community, and most importantly a priest that stands with the very first traditions of Christ and Holiness. I come from a Catholic background, but didn't understand God much at all, however I am learning more and more about it all as I am now aspiring into Greek Eastern Christian Orthodoxy. It takes more than words for someone to understand. It takes time, patience, and courage.
For the atheist, believe what you want, just don't call us foolish for wanting to believe that we were meant to have a purpose.
For Christians, stay strong. Our Lord will come serve our hearts justice at the time of the Second Resurrection, whenever that time may be. Follow Christ with all your heart, do not be afraid of the fallen world of which has tainted our hearts with fear, anger, and hatred. And most importantly, pray for the ones who have gone against us. I have degrees in biology and biochemistry. I know the inter-workings of DNA pretty well seeing as how it’s my field of study. DNA is described as a language by Ken here. This is not entirely accurate or true. The genetic code can be thought of as a language that we read but that is only we have assigned language-like aspects to it. This is because DNA “language” is physical properties of DNA not a language that conveys abstract information. That’s like calling the color of a car in a lineup at a dealership a language. The letters associated with DNA provide different shapes and binding opportunities for enzymes to conform to. Think of it like a boulder falling down a hill and landing in a hole big enough for the boulder. You wouldn’t say that the rock knew it would land in that spot nor that the spot was a language for the rock or that the spot was made for said rock. It just happens to fit. This is similar to how enzymes interact with DNA. Of course now, over the course of millions of years enzymes have been selected for the ability to better bind to DNA. That was done by little mistakes in the process of crating proteins. That’s what we call mutations. Mutations can be deleterious, advantageous, or silent and in this case they are advantageous. It’s not a language.
Also the clip of Richard Dawkins is taken out of context and cut in a way to make him look bad.
Ken does nothing but pure uneducated propaganda on this channel. He makes fallacy after fallacy and keeps on going. It is not informative nor accurate information.

      2. Peter's letter, chapter 3, verses 3-6 and 9-10: 3Most importantly, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.a 4“Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.”
5But they deliberately overlook the fact that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6through which the world of that time perished in the flood.
9The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
10But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare.
      Matthew chapter 24, verses 37-39:
37As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. 39And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.

We have to have a massive moon to stabilize our revolutions.
We have to have a large iron core to set up a magnetic field with a sun that’s stable enough not to be burning through it all the time.
We have to have a Jupiter to protect the inner solos system, and we need a Saturn to keep Jupiter from becoming a hot Jupiter
We also couldn’t get much closer to the inner galaxy or we would be cooked. In the last two to three billion years we couldn’t be too close to a hot star
We are a Goldilocks planet, around a Goldilocks star, in a Goldilocks system, in a Goldilocks galactic orbit with out big ugly bears close to-us now or too close since at least the Cambrian explosion.
And that not even accounting for the remarkable string of ‘random events’ that all had to go our way before our six time Goldilocks planet came in to existance
It does no good to evolve to fit your planet if your going to be burned by an unstable sun, swallowed by a hot Jupiter, burned by close by super novas, or not given stable enough rotation to provide the time to evolve.
Draw a random card from a deck. There is a one in fifty two chance of drawing the ace of spades, but you randomly draw all four aces then all four kings then all four queens it becomes hard to call it random.

Well yes carbon dating alone cannot give us the age of the earth (assuming its over 50,000 years old). We can cross compare carbon 14 dating to other forms of dating methods such as ice sheets, tree rings, plate tectonics, other forms of radiometric dating & to even known dates of ancient events (i.e. Mt Vesuvius eruption) to find out how accurate these dating methods are to each other. This allows us to know that these methods of dating are consistent with each other & we can use longer & longer dating methods to measure the age of things. Using U-Pb dating, we have around 4.5 billion years worth of half-life decay. This is 1 of the several ways how we know the age of the earth.
Ken didn't necessarily discredit carbon dating in this video, but even with just carbon 14 dating alone we can preclude creationism if we have any half-life dates older than 6 thousand years.
A common counter point creationist give is that decay rates maybe used to be faster, but if you had the 4.5 billion years of decay we have crammed into the time span of only 6,000 years, you would create enough heat to melt off the crust of the earth.
You seem like a person with genuine curiosity, & I'm not attacking Christianity or God. Creationism is a misguided interpretation of the bible that is simply not compatible with our observations of the universe.

    • @Yipper64
      @Yipper64 Před 6 měsíci

@@tone9358 Ok so that is just his carbon dating point, which I get, but honestly it gets so complex I cant be sure. Its just in general radiometric dating requires some kind of assumption of how much of the original isotope was there, which can change the result. And then if that type of thing is used for a basis of say ice sheets, then that would make the ice sheets flawed.
I think that whole thing could easily have the issue of them kind of circularly proving each other, because if you have a flawed reference point, then use that to determine one method and then the next, and all that, then all of the dating methods are using the wrong reference point.
As a random side note, I did notice he kind of mis-represented Richard Dawkin's argument, so im with you if you would bring that up. He was indulging the hypothetical, not agreeing with it.
Here's the big thing for me, as it has more specifically to do with my faith then the science itself, and that's his later point, being that sin causes death, and death could not have happened before man, but of course, going off all of this, you find death before man.
I just dont think as a Christian you can believe in evolution at least, something has to give because these two concepts contradict eachother, natural selection requiring death and all. The closest I can see is the idea of genesis being a metaphor of some kind but "its a metaphor" is a very sloppy way to interpret the bible when you dont understand something, and again as shown in the video Jesus clearly did not treat Genesis in that way. Amongst other issues with that interpretation.
I would also note that, even as explained in the video, the bible never states how old the earth is, young earth creationism is just predicated on the assumptions of lifespan and that kind of thing. So I am open to at least the concept of; 7 days didnt mean literally 7 days.
That is pretty much the only thing im currently willing to budge on at this moment, if push comes to shove. Because basically, the bible has proven itself to me, much of so called science has not.
I know you may think that's backwards, but it isnt to me.
I would like to hear your thoughts on the flood explanations, because it explains the layers and such being made in a much shorter amount of time due to a larger quantity of water. It seems to make sense but also logically more water doesnt JUST mean that it does more things, at least, that was my thought before the brought up the effects of the volcano creating those canyons by making those mud flows happen. Unless they are misleading people, those mud flows show that a canyon can in fact take a lot less time then those dating methods would assume.

No... the Earth had very little Carbon-14 in the environment pre-Flood... After the Flood Carbon-14 levels were drastically increased by water coming up from deep inside the mantle (Ringwoodite). This increase in Carbon-14 levels were picked up by every carbon-based lifeform... specifically plants first... then by herbivores that eat the C-14 laced plants... finally by humans that eat BOTH... C-14 laced plants and C-14 laced animals!
Carbon-14 is a tiny nuclear explosion throwing out radiation that rips through DNA sequences damaging their information and causing mutations and cancers... the more radiation... the more damage... the more cancers!
This is why the age of humans post-Flood drop off over time(600 years, 450, 250, 200, 175 years) as the C-14 becomes more and more integrated into the biome... It's also why fossils have very low C-14 levels, all of them were pre-Flood...

So I decided to give "Answers" in Genesis another chance to make sense. The outcome?
    1. 0:34 - 5:06 The same old apologist DNA argument, "it's really complex, therefore god."
    2. 5:06 - 8:40 "We don't know how life started, therefore god." God of the gaps again.
    3. 9:30: misquotes Dawkins and twists what he obviously said - par for the course for Lies in Genesis.
    4. Interlude of "The Bible Tells Me So."
    5. 11:35 - 18:00 Standard creationist misuse of Mt St Helens eruption - "it looks like a small canyon, so ALL canyons could only have formed this way." "That mud looks like layers, so ALL layers must have formed this way." Geology by pre-schoolers.
6: Followed by fantasies about a global flood creating things no such event could possibly have created - counting on the ignorance of the audience, which is the same thing as lying.
    7. 23:38 Everything ate plants...I'd love to see Lies in Genesis produce evidence for herbivorous lions, herbivorous wolves, herbivorous tyrannosaurs...sure. Like all such claims, evidence level zero.
    8. And concludes from 23:56 to the end with "for the bible tells me so." Thus we are supposed to accept that all science MUST be crammed by brute force into a bronze-age myth, because those bronze-age Canaanite priests knew everything. Right.
People can of course believe whatever they want. The U.S.A. is still a free country (despite the best efforts of the christians). If you want to restrict your understanding of the universe to what humans knew in the bronze age, be my guest.
But that is not what Lies in Genesis wants. They pretend to be doing science in the hope that, if they fool enough people, they can wedge their religion into the public school system and cram it down everyone else's throats by force of law. And THAT is where I draw the line.

    • @L-8
      @L-8 Před 5 měsíci +1

@@knowone11111 You don’t need to “demonstrate” something to prove it. No one has watched Neptune orbit the sun, as it takes 165 years, but we still know scientifically that Neptune does in fact orbit the Sun, through rational inference. Macroevolution is grounded in extensive irrefutable evidence from paleontology and genetics. The fossil record showcases the progressive development of species in a way that can only be explained by evolution, and practically single-handedly proves it - but that isn’t necessary because genetic studies further prove the shared ancestry of lifeforms, as well as the fact that the Earth has been dated thousands of times showing that it has been around for the billions of years that evolution requires. On the other hand, creationism and Noah’s Flood lack empirical support and contradict established principles in paleontology and biology. These so-called ‘alternative interpretations of the evidence’ fall short in addressing the robust scientific foundation supporting macroevolution. There is no single accepted scientific theory of abiogenesis, although we certainly have discovered evidence that tells us how it likely occured (like the Miller-Urey experiment, but certainly not only that). Abiogenesis in some way or another is the most scientific and plausible explanation.

    • @njhoepner
      @njhoepner Před 5 měsíci +1

@@knowone11111 1. The presentation invites mockery, in fact begs for it. 2. As for "demonstrate abiogenesis," I don't really have to, for two reasons:
      a) Evolution is well enough supported by the evidence we already observe - something of which creationism has zero.
      b) For science, " we don't [yet] know" is the beginning. It's only for religious people that it is the end.
"We don't know x, therefore god" is god of the gaps by definition...and would bring about the end of science if real scientists were foolish and lazy enough to buy into it. Just because you see something you can't [yet] explain does not mean it is the work of an invisible magical superbeing. That kind of lazy thinking would be the end of science. Fortunately, the deceivers at Lies in Genesis and The Anti-Discovery Institute are only convincing to their own choirs.

Look how many videos they have on their Channel talking about Charles Darwin and biological evolution, and all they do is misrepresent and lie about the subject.
