@@joshuakohlmann9731 Not really. Your starting point is what you base your argument on. If you change that, you aren't making the same argument. Can your starting point be wrong? Obviously. But that doesn't mean that you need to assume the opposing starting point because it somehow makes you more "open-minded" or "rational". That's folly, and you can't expect to make a robust argument if you're changing your terms during the debate.
Unless I misread what you commented. If by "consider", you're meaning to acknowledge different starting points, then sure. But I don't think that's the relevant issue. And you are right about circular reasoning. But Ken Ham isn't suggesting that in the beginning God created because he already believes it. He's saying that when arguing for the God of the Bible, taking the Bible as your source can't be abandoned to appease people who reject the Bible. You don't learn about the God of the Bible by reading the Quran or by studying fossils. You learn about God by reading the Bible, which is about God.

Even secular scholars who are in the field of textual criticism allow most of the Epistles of the Apostle Paul in a debate. Which in his writings that they accept we have access to much of the rest of the Bible. So if someone tells you that you can't use the Bible in a debate it shows their ignorance of the topic. This should force them to admit at least some of the Bible in the debate. If not you can simply proclaim the Gospel and walk away in good faith. With your reason being they're not willing to accept evidence that has been clearly designated by their own piers for use in such debates. God's Word is strong enough that even when they limit your access to it, it will still come out on top.

It’s the righteousness that comes by faith in Christ, the imputed righteousness of God that comes by faith and not by works, and it’s the righteousness of God that we need to enter His Kingdom, which is why faIlen humans are unable to come to God by our own righteousness through works, because imperfect humans can’t achieve the perfect righteousness of God. We’re not going to be compared against the righteousness of other humans to enter God’s kingdom, but our works will be held against the righteousness of a Holy and sînless God, and we will all fall short, which is why we need to receive Christ and HIS righteousness by faith. There was an exchange at the cross for the born again believers in Christ, where our sìns were transferred to our Holy and righteous Creator and Savior, YHVH incarnate in Jesus Christ, and His righteousness was transferred to us by faith, Romans 4. The only way anyone is entering God’s kingdom is through Christ, because without His perfect righteousness imputed by faith, we faIlen humans have no righteousness God will accept. The purpose of the Law was not to make us righteous, but rather, it’s to show us our sìns, so we will understand that without receiving Christ as our righteousness through faith in His redemptive work at the cross, and His resurrection the 3rd day, we are hopelessly lost and separated from God. The Law was a schoolmaster to lead us to faith in Christ, and once faith has come, we have no further need for a schoolmaster, because the Holy Spirit indwells us, and He causes us to live for God, and to love righteousness, and to despise sìn. The Holy Spirit changes the desires of our heart, and He renews our mind, so that we are transformed from within, regenerated spiritually, and reconciled to our Heavenly Father through Christ.

Could it be when people ask questions about the slaughter of the first-born sons of Egypt (or why God "hardened Pharaoh's heart" when he was ready to capitulate)? Or about the 42 young boys ripped to pieces by two bears, for laughing at a man's bald head? Or about the treatment of the Midianite women and children taken prisonner?... Most Christians today will argue from the point of view of this theologian or that one while they are virtually ignorant of the World of God. "My people perishes out of lack of knowledge of God's Word". Let's devour God's Word individually, as families and inside our Churches!

Many people call themselves Christian while refusing to study the Bible and refusing to accept it as truth. I used to be like that, and I wasn't Christian. I hadn't accepted salvation yet, because I didn't truly believe it, I didn't even understand what it meant.

I am grateful everyday to the Grace of GOD! 💞🙏🎉For his new mercies.

The things written inside correlate very well with biology, archaeology, history, geography, other valid historical documents, physical science, prophecy... What obligation? What logic? Every point must be cross examined, for and against the claim. The important thing is the weight of the evidence, and whether the evidence for and against is valid. Without examining all witnesses, the judgment is flawed and evaluation incomplete. And the evidence is examined in the light of correlation with other sources like history, archaeology, science, etc. It applies to ideas found in all historical documents, including religious ones. If it is logical, it will uphold what is for it, but more, takes down what is against it. To be scientific and rational, the claim not only must affirm what is supporting it but able to refute opposing views.

The coding language of molecular biology does indeed point beyond itself to a non material causal agency, because a language code can not work without an intelligence to make a meaningful statement in the coding language, and it requires an intelligence to understand and decode that meaning. I have also read all of the Greek NT and over 90% of the Hebrew & Greek Old Testaments. I am able to make a determination on a matter. Also, in regard to this verse, it is possible that the Greek translation of the Aramaic text influenced the translator's interpretation due to the Greek word's other shade of meaning of "HOLD DOWN (-fast), etc." Or it could be due to the translator's bias, prejudice, ignorance, conditioning, etc.; which is affecting them to give an accurate TRANSLATION (interpretation).
The following translations agree with my interpretation on biblehub: KJV, Aramaic in Plain English, Webster's Bible Translation, - ERV, LSV & Young's partially.
Next time don't assume & think that you must be right based on your preferred Translation. My interpretation is based on the most obvious meaning of the Aramaic text. See the other Aramaic-English Translations such as: (AENT, Etheridge, Bauscher, etc.). Research what I said. Learn the original Languages b/c it is necessary. There is a lot of Biblical mistranslation or the translation isn't the best that it could be. Also, one English word can't always capture the full meaning(s) of the source texts. You're missing out.
Even the Greek word KATEXO also means: to HOLD (have, possess, etc.) elsewhere. See: (Jn. 5:4; 1 Cor. 7:30; 6:10; etc.). Other occurrences of that word can also be translated as "HOLD(-ing), etc."

It is full of prophecies that have been fulfilled and some still awaiting fulfillment. It speaks to the deepest needs and desires that a human has and actually provides the fulfillment of those in Jesus. It actually transforms the people who hear and believe it's words, setting them free from all sorts of bondage.
You can not simply dismiss the millions of people who have testified to being radically changed for the better by hearing and believing God's word.

Why do we need to argue/ convince?
I think the most convincing thing is to live the christian life as Paul laid out so well.
If challenged i simply say my faith is based on evidence. If people want to know more I'm happy to help.
Pointless arguing with those dead set against.

Fortunately we have the Bible. Though I do think that if Christianity is true it should be still be true without the Bible. If it was the case we didn’t have the Bible I believe God would reveal himself. Which is why we have it to begin with.

I guess the problem I have is that languages are invented to convey messages from one intelligence to another. DNA is chemistry that produces reactions, not messages. I suppose you could say God is a chemist and designed the chemistry of DNA but if the point is to find evidence for an actual God, it does appear as though DNA can naturally form, meaning it would only be speculation to tie a God to it. In terms of using the bible, I am not sure that even Christians believe or trust 100% of it because the bible itself does give us reasons for skepticism. The bible certainly contains correct information that would be accepted as such by reasonable people, but there are also errors and contradictions that Christians attempt to poorly explain away. A God existing and the bible being the Word of that God are two separate issues. If a God doesn't exist, then the bible cannot be the Word of God. If a God does exist, the bible could still not be the Word of that God. I sort of see Christianity like Santa Clause, there is enough to make both look believable, but there is also enough to make both fall apart upon deeper inspection. At best, we have fallible humans attempting to record the God they witness. At worse, we have fallible humans attempting to record their superstitious beliefs.
