Yay it’s Avery cool that you go birdwatching at my country Costa Rica.
I'm a canon guy. Getting ready for my second CR trip. I checked most of the CZcams channels of photographers I follow who have CR trip videos and the most impressive in terms of sharpness and detail is by far Mike Smith. His Sony images were beyond WOW.
My wife is adopted from Guatemala where the Quetzal is the national bird. It's a bird that I hope to photograph someday and make an amazing print for her. Thanks for the great video content, Mark!
You sir are a master. Once again beauty you show the beauty of nature. Interesting how you point out flaws in a picture that looks perfect. Well, if something was wrong you would know, it looked like a great shot to me. I hope you do not tire of people telling you great job, because you really do the best work in your nature photography. I am learning so much seeing your work and it is important to me. I am very lucky to be able to see the works of a modern master.
Thanks so much for the kind words. It is always great to hear.
Love Savegre Mountain Lodge. Best Place for birding in Costa Rica. The Magnificent hummingbird is now the Talamanca hummingbird. Still a beautiful hummer. Before you pack to avoid this crisis, Costa Rica is closed now to tourism, although according to W.H.O. they have a very low case-fatality ratio of 0.88% health authorities are not opening the country yet. My thoughts and prayers are with those in eco-tourism affected by this world crisis.
Tomorrow I am going to monte verde another cloud forest in Costa Rica with similar bird species, like the quetzal the toucans and toucanets.
Mind-blowing shots of such beautiful birds. Love them.
Beautiful film, thank you. I was in Costa Rica in 1983, at that time we had to hike to the Cloud Forest. At a certain point we saw a rough wooden sign pointing up that said “Quetzal” . I looked up and there he was in all his glory. It’s engraved in my mind. So nice to see all these birds up close and personal and captured digitally.
Fantastic photos Mark. Costa Rica is my favourite place for birds and the country's eco-credentials are an example to all the other countries of the world.
Anyone else find these video relaxing?
That was my favorite intro to a CZcams video ever
Gorgeous. Birds really are tiny works of art. Thanks for sharing.
sigh...I wanted to cry when you said "we should go to Costa Rica"...we returned to the US in late March and I am looking forward to heading back as soon as it is safe to do so...did a double take when the area where you saw the Quetzal came up in your video...we stood in the same spot...we were there in May of 2017 and I was lucky enough to get pics of two chicks...the mother and father were taking turns guarding the nest and bringing back food...thanks for bringing back such fond memories and for sharing your beautiful photos/videos...stay safe...
I was in Costa Rica approximately a year ago, but never was lucky enough to spot the Quetzal! Amazing photos, as per usual. You
never disappoint!
Beautiful birds, beautiful photography.
With this you can fold up tent, pack the photographic equipment away, and be content your job is done. It just doesn’t get any better Mark. Superlative work, expertly presented, a true pleasure to watch. Huge thanks for sharing. Ciao.
Amazing ! I love birds
I am just blown away from the sheer beauty of these birds and the awesome talent you pocess to capture them for us to view. Once again Mark, you have produced another magnificent video that I will watch over and over. Love it.
The color is absolutely mind-boggling!
Stunning birds in a magnificent habitat. I was in awe of these beauties.
OMG: Mark, what a place. And I thought we had some special birds here..... Great work Bud. As always. Greetings from total lock down in Ballito in South Africa. Warm regards Tim
Thanks. Really amazing bird.
Beautiful bird photography.
Hey Tim from South Africa. Have to agree with you 100%. Mark is the best. That illusive Sony 200-600 is in my thoughts every day as well. I think the secret to You Mark is you have the love and kindness of nature and the birds see it in you. They seem to know and trust you. From Graham, Cape Town. South Africa.
Your equipment is awesome, and you do a great job using it. The birds were so awesome!!! Thank you.
I love you guys, love your love for nature and birds. You have a great family, stay strong, stay healthy and keep those vids coming.
Definitely one of the best bird photography video I have ever seen. Breathtakingly beautiful shots .

Masterful, masterpiece, and plentiful for the eyes. Brilliant.
I love how passionate you are!
I really should not be on CZcams at 3am. But then again I got to go on a wonderful trip to Costa Rica with one of my favourite photographers in the world and saw all these amazing birds. Now to get some sleep and most likely dream about crazy looking green birds.
Sleep well and thanks for watching.

The two thumbs down are from people who don’t have a passport, and are just jealous because they can’t create the magic with their own cameras. Lol ! Your camera skills are just mesmerizing !! Thank you for bringing Costa Rica to my IPad !!! And thank you for showing the capabilities of the amazing camera equipment you own, and KNOW HOW TO USE !!! You sir, are sent from the photography Gods !!! And we all welcome your powers !!!

Simply stunning mark. Fantastic photo's.👍
Love this! Was in Belize birding last January. So beautiful. West and northwestern. That beautiful and exotic Quetzal kind-of reminds me of the Gartered Trogans. What an amazing world. So glad I happened upon your videos.
special quality in all ways in this youtube video.
I was really suprised to see the acorn woodpecker. I just got some nice shots of them in Az. Really liked the video!

My Bucket List Mark
One thing I like about the R5 is that the de-noise is already built in, and works exceptionally well...
Great shots though!
Fantastico viaggio e foto splendide complimenti Mark !!
Your videos are the best on You Tube, Mark. It was really cool to see some birds I had never seen before, and this gives me ideas for when we can all travel again after the pandemic. Meanwhile I'm happy trying to get some Western Tanager shots in my back yard. :)
Your storytelling and photography are top notch! I’m so glad I found your channel ☺️
I haven't seen any new videos from you Mark, came back here to share this one with a Costa Rican friend. You're absolutely one of my very favorites here. Hope you're well!
All good! Working on one now! 👌

Love the video and love to go to Costa Rica. Been there three times, never saw the bird , so beautiful.
Your videos are really wonderful and inspiring too Mr. Mark
I'd love to see a budget-friendly Sony setup in action from you. Something like the a6400 + 200-600mm or 70-350mm.
That was entertaining to watch, thanks for sharing!
Awesome shots.
Thanks for sharing!! The birds are so pretty💕
Thank you so much for sharing! I love every single shot & your video is totally awesome. 😃😍🤩👍
Excellent video, Mark. Thanks a lot.
Great video. I saw and photographed the resplendent Quetzal rather poorly in 2015. It's what got me excited about birds and photography. Must go back soon to Costa Rica
. I use a Canon r5 with 100-500 lens now.
Amazing footage, keep it coming Mark 👍👍👍
A Master of bird photography indeed. I like you're videos and photos. Great job📸👍
Hey, Mark great video and fantastic shots as always! It's nice to see some shots of places I'm familiar with and of course no matter how many times one sees a Quetzal you never get tired of them. Next time you're down here when all of this current crazy stuff is over let me know!
