I remember watching Wild America with Marty Stouffer. He, like you worked with his family and created some phenomenal Wildlife Documentaries. Since the advent of all this digital technology and especially now, I wonder what could that guy have done with all this modern equipment? It would have been epic for sure. I said this before to you and you replied your were thinking about it. If you dived into your work, you could be easily be the next Marty Stouffer! The world wide television market could be your playground.

Great photographer; great subjects; great location; more great storytelling.
You so elegantly and eloquently convey the essence of wild places through your images and storytelling. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us all.
I spent six years of my 34-year career with the National Park Service living in and helping to protect Grand Teton National Park. Your fine photography, understanding of the subjects you photograph and gift for sharing what you see and experience through your lenses, in images and words, contributes greatly to greater awareness, understanding and protection of these wonderful places and the amazing life with which we share the earth. Awareness promotes Understanding which leads to greater Appreciation support for Protection. Thank you for your contributions in this respect. On a personal note, you and your family are in our thoughts. Stay healthy and safe.

Wow, thanks for the footage of the Ruffed Grouse. I knew what was making that sound the first time it appeared in this video. Many years ago, about 60 as a matter of fact, I was camping in rural New York State and we kept on hearing this mysterious noise that we thought was someone trying to start a farm tractor. I later learned that it was mating season for Ruffed Grouse and that the males made this noise by "drumming" on a hollow log but I've never seen one doing it until today. I had mistakenly thought they were beating on the log with their wings.
As for the photos of the rocketing swallows, I'm left speechless. Super cool stuff. Thanks again!!

Beautiful work, Mark. The perfect antidote for the news of late. With your combination of spectacular photography and engrossing narration, I feel like I took a short trip to the Tetons in summer. Thanks for that. Here in Virginia, we hear the rufffed grouse drumming in the spring. I’ve seen them stand on a hollow log to amplify the effect. Pretty cool.

I loved the pics of the Teton skyline - my favorite mountain views on the planet! Your views brought back memories of my cross country bicycle trip in '78. I well remember battling the switchbacks, crossing over into Jackson Hole and being rewarded with the sight of those gorgeous peaks. I took a 'day off' and pedaled 125 miles through the area. (Well, it certainly FELT like a day off, not having to carry panniers loaded with camping and biking gear!) I wish I had been into photography back then!
I look forward to more views of your road trip!

Fantastic shots and video! Speaking as someone who has gotten some decent Tree Swallow shots yours are fantastic. I don't see them going after insects on the water much around here but they do go after feathers for nesting. So a little trick is to collect some feathers to drop on the water and then focusing on the them and timing a swallow hit.
