    Nice assessment Brock. I appreciate how much you emphasize maintaining your equipment. A little preventative maintenance can go a long way towards protecting your investment. Take care of your tools and they will take care of you... or some such thing lol! Thanks for sharing - good stuff! 🤠

    Looks like a well built piece of equipment for sure. Don't forget to lube the PTO u-joints, telescoping slide and the spline coupler

    I assume that the roller height is adjustable??? the dirt is as bad on hammer wear if not worse than a few rocks. Having all the hammers making contact at or with ground level also robs horse power from your tractor having it set higher relieves that concern and helps not pull the engine down as much. That’s a very nice mower for sure!! I’m liking it! 👍👍

    Brock I am watching your vidio wearing my safty "grasses". All because l just walked away from the "tractors & the Implements " with my eyes still in tact. Had my big mower(60 inch fabricated deck= 300lbs) up in the AIR scraping out debris for winter storage. Worked in industry & construction for 40 years & not a single Serious Eye injury ( just dust) put have seen others "hauled off" by the dozens. Gravity never stops & inertia almost never quits, but Sight can be LOST in" Less than a blink of the Eye". Best to keep us all straightened-out by setting a good example. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

      You’re absolutely right. I had a commentary in the video about the fact I should’ve been wearing safety glasses but I think it got cut out in the final edit.

    Excellent information I got a Hayes flail mower here in Australia. Far better finish than slasher. The organic matter decomposes far quicker after the flail mower because it cuts them into fine pieces.
    Don’t forget to wear eye protection.

    Great inspirational and well made video!
    You for sure have a piece of high quality machine there. Italians makes great agriculture equipment (specially Maschio)
    I have an (another Italian brand) "Agrimaster" KL 190 on an old IH 434 (43 hp) that works perfect. It has "Y-knifes" (not hammers) which makes it best suited for grass and smaller bushes.

    Maybe a good practice is to give it a shot of grease before you use it. I hope that you have a great Holiday Season.

    I wonder if the squeaking you heard wasn't the hammers rocking on their pins.

    Great review Brock. I'm really surprised by the quality of the cut. A very nice implement!

    Very nice maintenance overview, Brock! I have been wanting a flail mower for a while, but my brush cutter is still working adequately, so I think I'm just gonna have to wait. There are other implements I'd like to pick up, so I can't justify buying an implement that does the same job as my brush cutter (even though the cut quality is better with a flail mower).
    Take care and God Bless - and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!

    I can't hardly remember a time I went to grease a mower or tractor that I didn't have to change the grease tube. The tubes seem to run out every time I use the tool.

    Got one of those on my wish list. Would work for cleaning up along the driveway, on my trails, and some places in the yard. Not as unwieldy as a bush hog. I navigate some tight places. 😏

      I like it better than a rotary cutter.
      Cost more though. Thanks for watching

    FYI The bar where your top link attaches, you can take a nylon tow strap and with your loader lift the front of the mower up and set it on its back side exposing the underside. I lay 3 moving blankets down in my shop and have done this many times with my Maschio Bufalo. The hammers are self sharpening, I never grind them except if I hit something and nick a hammer. The steel Maschio uses in their hammers is very strong, and unless you hit metal or a rock repeatedly, they should last a very long time.

    If you need to lube something but don't want it to attract dust you should be using a dry lube, hope that helps.

    How easy are those hammers to replace? Could you do a quick video of taking one in and out? Thank you for the good content.

    • @CountryboyCale
      @CountryboyCale Před rokem

      They are easy. It’s just one bolt that you take out and the hammer will fall away.

    I think I have a 5 foot equivalent of what you have, re-badge from China. Today, I chainsaw down some stuff in parallel cuts from above. Push it with the tractor and then put the flail mower on top. There is no way I will ever sharpen. Those hammers hammers are not sharp. They're just heavy hitters

  • @johnevans6053
    @johnevans6053 Před rokem +2

    Brock... Before you climb under anything like that, you need to put on a pair of safety glasses. A small piece of loose grass falling in your eye might very well lead to an emergency room visit to have it flushed out.
