Wow! Thanks for doing this video. I can't believe you pulled both bearings when they didn't need to be changed just to give us an education. You're a scholar and a gentleman for sure!!

I really appreciate that you took the time to make and share this video. It was very helpful after a catastrophic failure of one my main bearings on a 78H. I ended up replacing both housings, too, but luckily they aren't that expensive.

My problem was a piece of field fence caught up by the blades and jammed into the small space next to the bearing. This video was perfect for me. Would not have looked for the "built in" pulley puller. Nice!. Only thing I would add, is that the belts come off really easy if you remove the pulley first. In my case, I couldn't turn the pulley to help get the belts off. With the pulley removed, just slipped right out! I only got the rotor back in place today and quit for the evening. All told I have spent about seven hours on this, but part was removing the wrapped fence wire, I am working outside, and only have hand tools.

  • @christiancheape

I know I’m 6 years late but when putting the bearings back on the flail shaft, do you use grub screws on the shaft through the bearing?

How many hours are on this mower?

It's a dial indicator, not a gauge or meter. Just FYI, for the future.

Looks too new to be changing bearings. Thought about buying one, not so sure now!

David Home, did you even watch the video? There's nothing wrong with the bearings. He even says so about 4 times. The video is instructional on how to change bearings...the machine didn't need them replaced. You must be another low information Democrat. They draw conclusions without regard to facts all the time.
