    this helmet suits round oval shaped head better? im a 59cm with intermediate shape, does it suit me?

      HJC say it suits intermediate oval so that's a good start for you. Cheers, Tony

    So you suggest to buy Large if you are between Medium and Large?
    I am 58cm and I had only Medium size racing helmets.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před měsícem +1

      You might be OK with a medium. My head measures 59cm, but I almost always wear a medium, even if listed at 57-58cm. That didn't work for this helmet - and a large would be too loose. I wouldn't want to go up a size to make an unsuitable helmet fit me, especially for track or racing use. Cheers, Tony

      @@sportsbikeshop I tried the Medium size standing and I felt some pain in the forehead after 10 minutes time.
      Large was too comfortable but not so sporty. It is frustrating because Rpha 11 was like a glove.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před měsícem +1

      It was the same for me - I've just tried the new RPHA-12 and that is ideal for my head shape too, but the RPHA-1 doesn't suit it at all. I believe that sometimes we just have to accept that a particular helmet model will not work for our head shape. Cheers, Tony

      @@sportsbikeshopunfortunately yes. I like it a lot but I cannot risk to choose this over other similar helmets because of the bad fit.
      Thank you for your response!

    Whats the difference between this and the rpha1n?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před měsícem

      The 1N designation is for the United States market. As far as I can tell the specification is the same for both helmets, though sometimes manufacturers alter the internal shape of the helmet to better suit the dominant head shapes in that market. Cheers, Tony

    this or shark race r pro gp. i wanna get a gp helmet, but the new shark aeron gp doesnt have speaker pockets, which is a no for me. beside the ece2205 on the shark race r pro gp. would u go for a shark or this hjc if fit isnt a issue?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If fit wasn't an issue and I was going racing then I'd prefer the HJC for its FIM approval, which proves performance in higher speed impacts. For the road, I would be happier with the Race-R Pro as its foam comfort liner is more suited to longer rides. Hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

    Which would you choose for road use.
    This or scorpion exo 14000 air carbon

    • @sportsbikeshop

      For road use I would choose the Scorpion as the HJC is designed with track riding and racing in mind. Cheers, Tony

    Hi Tony,
    Would you say there is any fit difference between it and the RPHA 11? I personally like helmets where the cheek pads cover a large area, with a narrow gap between, as I have a very narrow jaw (otherwise ordinary size M).
    I notice that /visually/ there seems to be more space between them on the 1 than the 11, which is a tad disappointing from my respective, though a lot of other people will see it as a plus.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před rokem +2

      There's definitely a fit difference around the top of the head (I suffered undue pressure at the sides of my forehead on the RPHA-1, which I didn't experience at all on the RPHA-11). I've just checked again and I think the fit between the cheekpads is very close on both. Race helmets are good for this as a tight fit here stops the chinbar pushing back into the rider's face at speed. Thanks for getting in touch and I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony

      Thanks Tony,
      Funny you should say that. There are well-regarded brands (Arai and AGV being two) in whose racing helmets I can get my mouth to touch the chin bar, because their cheek pads have less coverage. Wouldn't want to wear them in a crash, I'd have no teeth left. Problem is IMO fit seems to be moving a bit that way in general.

    which one is better for tuono v4? x spirit 3 or rpha 1 ? noise and tight fit is important for me.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před rokem +1

      It's always going to depend on how well a helmet fits you, but if someone gave me a Tuono V4 for the weekend, and a choice of an XSIII or RPHA-1 then I'd choose the Shoei. Not just because it suits my head shape better (which it does), but because there's more padding at the forehead and that's important on a rapid naked bike like that. Cheers, Tony

    What head shape do you have?

    • @sportsbikeshop

      It's roughly the same in width and length, so I think that counts as round (even though it looks more like a square from above). Cheers, Tony

      Really surprised this lid doesn't fit you but the RPHA 11 is a good fit. I have both and get similar fits except for the much tighter on off of the RPHA 1N.

    • @BaconBitties
      @BaconBitties Před 5 měsíci

      thats the thing lol none of the shops near me carry it but I did try the rpha 11 on and it was one of the only helmets that didn't give me bad pressure. I ended up goin with a arai quantum x but wanted something a lil more sleek so I been eyeing this one for awhile. Reviews as far as fit seem conflicting but thanks I might pull the trigger on a sale @@peytonhibdon7659
