  • Hi guys! I figured that this was the perfect opportunity to not only talk about these 2 popular straightening treatments but SHOW you what the results will look like (at least for the Japanese straightening option). I absolutely love my hair and pride myself in taking great care of it. If you also love your hair and/or want to pursue a treatment that will help you manage it a little better, I hope that this video helps you make the right decision for you.

    Hey, thanks for the video, very detailed and helpful.
    I know you said we can use any shampoo but just wanna check if you can suggest any good shampoo and the conditioner.
    I checked with the salon and the one she suggested was super expensive.
    I got my hair straightened with Japanese treatment 2 days ago and still need to get my first wash done.
    So bit curious and nervous too as in how they’ll look like after first wash.

    What if w/ the Japanese treatment, as it grows out, can’t you blow dry that part to be straight or use a 1” flat iron to smooth that?

      Thank you :) and the pricing for the treatment is usually based on how much/how long your hair is. I have A LOT of hair and during this period it was quite long also. Price can also vary depending on where you live as well so it's also good to get a quote before committing to doing the treatment :)

      @SassyKarol  Pƙed rokem +2

      Hi! Agreed but I found that the keratin washes off the hair overtime and you get 1 even texture eventually. With the Japanese treatment your only option to return to that 1 even texture is to cut your hair

    Is doing keratin treatment twice a year fine or should I just stick to 1 time only in a year

    • @SassyKarol
      @SassyKarol  Pƙed 2 lety

      I think that it depends on your hair. Is it healthy and strong? Do you dye it regularly? 2x a year shouldn't be a problem though but if you can get by only doing it once I think that's probably the best way to go

    • @SassyKarol
      @SassyKarol  Pƙed 2 lety

      Hi! You’re welcome :) I think pricing is very specific to where you live, the salons in your area and your hair length. I’d suggest looking up pricing at your local salons online or by calling them. I wanna say that pricing probably starts at $250+ for the Japanese treatment

    Going to Tokyo, and considering getting the Japanese treatment done. Can you curl your hair with a curling iron after? Will putting your hair up damage your hair with either the Brazilian Blowout or Japanese straightening treatment? I’m a nurse and have to wear my long hair in a bun or ponytail. Thanks for the informative video!

    • @s.b.1814
      @s.b.1814 Pƙed 2 lety +4

      This is the challenge that I had after the Japanese treatment... I couldn't quite curly my hair how I used to do it before the treatment. It can be done but you'll need a good hair spray. It may also not hold all day but you can definitely get it somewhat wavy. You won't damage your hair with either treatment by putting it up on a ponytail :) Brazilian treatment may require 72hrs of no bending but the Japanese should be good after you leave the salon (although I'd still recommend waiting a bit before putting it up).

    I feel like the keratin treatment wouldn't be worth it for me. I wash my hair everyday (i workout almost daily so i sweat and i have oily scalp) so i feel like it would wash off quickly. On top of that i have super long hair so paying 400-500 dollars every couple months wouldn't make sense financially. Definitely looking into the Japanese straightening.

    • @SassyKarol
      @SassyKarol  Pƙed rokem +2

      If you wash your hair often I wouldn't recommend the keratin treatment because you definitely won't get as long of a use with it. Sounds like the Japanese treatment is the better option for you if you want more permanent results

      A stylist told me she doesn’t do keratin treatments anymore on clients because all of them contain formaldehyde even they claim to be formaldehyde free. She was having lung and breathing problems issues because of it so she quit doing them. She recommended me to get japanese straightening instead.

    • @DelilahAndre1

      I have super long oily type hair, workout almost daily and I’m leaning towards the Japanese Straightening too. My hair does not grow out curly, it grows out fairly straight but ends up with an unruly beach wave that requires styling and can get annoying when I just want to wash, air dry and go, lol.

    • @SassyKarol
      @SassyKarol  Pƙed 8 měsĂci

      I wouldn't recommend it because keratin is meant to combat frizz so you'd be taking away from a treatment that you paid for and also I'm not a fan of personally doing too much too soon for my hair

    • @SassyKarol
      @SassyKarol  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      So I think you can definitely ask but unsure how wavy it’ll be. I told them that I didn’t want pin straight and I definitely noticed that they didn’t straighten my hair as much in order to accommodate that. But as you can tell in my video, my hair is still pretty straight. I’ve seen videos of hair that became even more straight/sleek than mine after treatment so perhaps you can assume a result similar to mine?
