- Alex Albon is one of the most exciting talents in Formula 1, currently driving for Williams Racing. He has previously raced for Scuderia Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing where he was teammate to the current Drivers Champion, Max Verstappen.

This episode was recorded across two occasions, with the first taking place at the Williams Racing headquarters just days after the now infamous Qatar Grand Prix, which saw Alex need medical attention due to the heat in the car. The second half was recorded in London when Alex returned from an early exit in Sao Paulo. This is the second half of that conversation.
The conversations cover Alex’s rise through the ranks of racing, and his struggles when he was dropped by Red Bull, electing to stay with the team and improve the car for his teammates. Alex opens up on the learnings he has taken through difficult periods in his career and his personal life, which he believes have enabled him to develop the mental resilience needed to become a champion.

Albon would be a good team principal.
He not only has high performance skills, he also has good communication and leadership qualities.
His speech about turning things around and overcoming the past sounds more like a TP than a driver.
It also sounds like he's learning a lot from James Patrick Vowles. I'm sure Alex was data driven before James joined Williams but it really feels like the importance that James puts in data has rubbed onto Alex. So he's learning a lot from James on how to run a team so who knows, sometime in the future we might have Alex being a TP.

I love how Alex is constantly on the brink of bursting out in tears of laughter to being dead serious within 0.2 seconds.

I really love his way of thinking. I believe actually our thinking process is pretty similar and I found super interesting to hear how he overcomes hurdles and what kind of thinking patterns he uses to relax and keep himself centered.

In F1 there has to be a level of aggression flirting with that limit but knowing when to back off ... Verstappen just took that aggression & ran with it smh lol not taking anything from Max .. great driver but I do question he's aggression to the point pushing another driver off the track. Aggression but clean. Alex is a great driver
in some ways they've had exact opposite careers, Max's first race with RB was a film level stunning win vs Alex having almost the opposite but as they've developed one has increased his aggressiveness and confidence and other has mellowed down a bit. Ends of the spectrum moving towards meeting in the middle.

Great guy, great driver but unfortunately not world championship material, I wish I was wrong but I am not.
It's amazing how a driver's confidence and happiness is improved by having Latifi and Sargeant as your teammates for 2 years. But glad he's finding a good place to develop as an F1 driver without the pressure of being in a team that revolves around Max.

Alex is a amazing driver and very talented but he is Mr Nice guy. You need to be a bit of a Alpha Dog in the shark tank that is F1 or you will be walked over and made a number 2. If he can toughen up and be a team leader he may be a champion

Every driver primarily wants to win races. He's unfortunately unlikely to win anything in Williams. If he does go to Red Bull, I hope he can handle the pressure better than last time. But I'd like it more if he went to a different top team, like Mercedes.
