What ever happened to androgyny? I've been dressing masculine since I was 13 but never felt the need to change my pronouns because it's not necessary unless you have gender dysphoria. It's okay to be masculine and still be a WOMAN.
EXACTAMUNDO!! When I was a kid I was inspired by women like Grace Jones, Chyna, Xena warrior princess, and GI Jane. You can be masculine and tough and still be a woman.
that's why they talk about the need to change pronouns as a trend, because it is unnecessary like you say
There's no such thing as 'dressing masculine'- that's appealing to harmful gender-based stereotypes/generalizations.
Only bodies can be masculine or feminine (as a result of testosterone or estrogen influenced physical development).
@@TheEarthRealm just because you say there is no such thing does not make it true dear.
@@genapp3603 Duh. Stating an obvious _fact_ isn't what makes said obvious fact true.
It being true does.
But that's okay, sexist- the good news is you don't have to be the brightest colour in the rainbow to (eventually) be able to grasp that concept.
Demi identifies as a woman again and uses she/her pronouns again. Blaire predicted this coming 🤣
Yeaaah was looking for a comment like this, Blaire called it out
No demi still uses they/them too but okay
We all knew she was right.

Lmfao I know! I was a tomboy growing up and was labelled a "dyke" by most boys when I was a child, now these bitches are using it as a personality trait!

Bingo. Enby's are either autistic or pick-me's. Enby boys are just men who are in touch with their feminine side, enby girls are not like other girls 🥹

You can be androgynous and not non-binary. I feel like she doesn’t really understand that.
I feel like most of these people don't understand that.
David Bowie and Prince was pretty androgynous and both of them wasn’t non-binary! So yes a lot don’t understand this

Demi isn’t even androgynous, cutting your hair doesn’t make you look any less femme- especially when you still wear feminine clothing and a face full of make up.
@@guddytooshoes this right here! I'm genuinely androgynous, people mistake me for a boy sometimes and identify me as a girl other times, and it's not just because I have a haircut. It's more complex than that.

The man is a cult leader

If that dude can convince you to do anything then you should just stop.... like breathing.
Demi is definitely a trend hopper. When ED became a big issue, she came forward. And then she came out as bisexual. And then as a lesbian, which got her that gig on GLEE. And then non-binary. And then... you get it.
THIS is the kind of behavior that makes people say bigoted stuff like "oh, it's just a phase" to ANY LGBT person.
A million dollars to the person predict the next trend she hops on.
@@beewest5704 I predict tourettes
She is an alien
I feel bad for real LGBT people they are either taken advantage of or discriminated
She never stated she is a lesbian, only bisexual. At least get your facts straight, if you're bashing her.
I'm a woman, but I don't spend my days thinking "I'm a woman." I just feel like a person, and sometimes I feel more masculine while other times I feel more feminine. I've long felt that the whole nonbinary thing is very much a trend that will fade with time (much like bisexuality in the early 2000s). Sure, it genuinely applies to small minority of people, but so many these days are doing it to be trendy and to get attention.
I'm a 58 year old female. I split and stack wood.
Does that make me trans??? This kind of thing is so alien to me. There were only a few when I was young now everyone has to join the party.🥴Young people that is.
Bisexuality is not a trend tho I get what you mean.
@@honda-akari it was a trend in those years ..and i dare to say that it still being a trend for some people. You know, lgbt is a big thing now and almost everyone want to be part of the oppresed ones, so claiming yourself bi or nb is an easy way to feel part of the comunity (of course bisexuality is real and theres a lot of bi people, im just saying this for the sjw)
@@honda-akari Bisexuality was most certainly a trend during the early 2000s, as I stated above. If you weren’t alive then or are too young to remember that era, you’ll just have to take the rest of our word for it :) I honestly lost count though of how many people I knew who came out as “bi” in those years, only to never actually be with someone of the same sex, later on admit they were “just in a phase,” and/or quietly let it die and never talk about it again. I have zero doubts that exact same pattern is going to happen with many of the kids coming out as trans or non-binary today.
I think being bisexual is becoming a trend again, especially among young girls, like they can slap on the label because it's the cool thing these days, which as an actual bisexual woman makes me doubt almost every girl I meet who says they are so because it makes me think an possible relationship there could be will be dishonest and superficial on their part because at any point they can get bored of their playing and go back to being straight as they always were. I don't see anyone talking about this, and I'd like to hear from anyone that might think this too, because I think I'm alone with this view and I can't wait until this trend dies out.
It's crazy that Blaire is seen as a "controversial" figure in the trans community for literally just having some fucking common sense
So true!!
I mean if u actually watch videos on Blaire , she has done controversial things , there’s actually good points against some of her behavior. She’s definitely not perfect. Just cuz she has some good takes that doesn’t take away her bad takes ijs.
That's considered controversial in any community these days sadly
@@yugen8195 well I mean, on trans related topics I don't think she's ever said something inherently problematic. He started going on about how they are trans and how im being unfair blah blah blah, I just kept repeating that they are a drug smoking transphobe for misgendering me until they broke down and left.
Fact is, I'm a normal, right wing guy who really doesn't give two shits about all this gender crap but damn was it ever so sweet to cripple a triggered lefty. Reminds me of 2016.... food ass times back then

She will do and say anything for attention
@@gerard7417 And it's not helping our community at all. When Demi says stuff like gender reveal parties are transphobic that hurts US.
@@SerafiniAGaunt this makes 0 sense to me. When you ask a trans person when they realized they were trans. They say stuff like " oh well at a young age I liked playing with dolls and dressing up/doing girl things". They justify it with that. But I thought gender was a construct and assigning certain likes/traits to genders was harmful.? Yet they still dress like a "girl"would or "guy" would
@@alejandroc7357 It can be harmful, but biologically trans women have similar brain structures to that of a cis woman, so it goes beyond just wanting to play with dolls.
People on Twitter are saying to respect her pronouns lol but Demi is not non-binory. She doing it for attention which is so messed up. I heard Demi also. Forgot her own pronouns which was funny
In my opinion of the gender reveal parties, they were never really about making the kids gender a big deal. It's mainly just a party for the adults and friends of the parents to celebrate the fact that the pregnancy was successful enough so far to have made it to the point where the sex could be determined. It's celebrating a healthy pregnancy.

Some time around 2012.
@@possumfriend2335 I was gonna say about 2013 lol.
Now that "everything is political", some people's identities not only revolve around their politics, but their politics *are* their identity.
Victim complex, if you’re just a woman/man and transpeople are getting attention, so you want to be a part of that without the struggle. The (faux) power of pushing certain pronouns when most transpeople aren’t that obnoxious.
@@Sigurther True, most “non-binary” are hardcore leftists. And I’m saying that as a left leaning centrist.

I have similar issues with identify and if I had grown up in today's culture I would have for sure felt that I was NB, when really, i'm just a woman who struggles with her identity due to mental health.

@@Goat.Cheese I for sure would have grown up feeling agender or nonbinary if I had grown up today’s world. But now that I have a solid identity, I completely identify with my male sex.
Yeah I agree, she may also being mislead/misinformed by this new dodgy none binary friend.
"I'll be officially changing my pronouns to they/them."
This pretty much encapsulates how out of touch narcissistic celebrities are. You can see by the way she announces it that to her it's some sort thing of major geo-political significance that the world should pay special attention to, as though she were head of state in a major world country or something. Most people (even transexuals) don't even have their own special set of pronouns and just want to be called either by the ordinary pronoun that matches their sex, or by that of the opposite sex to reduce dysphoria. Most "non-binary people" are self-absorbed women with big egos who want to look like they're super unique or something. Circa 2013 the word snowflake was used to denote this idea of cultivating nonsense personalities to seem special; now the meaning changed to mean something more like fragile, but it's a shame because the earlier sense of the word was useful and there's no equivalent now.
Tbf loads of people post it online ...even non celebrities it's an easy way to let many ppl know which pronouns you want to use without having to go to each one face to face ...and let's be real it's not that celebrities don't get coverage on everything they do/say.
I think your first definition of snowflake does make that person fragile, so the term still makes sense. You have to be fragile minded to scream at the world "Look how special I am, pay attention to me"
Seriously though, I’ve never encountered a man coming out as non-binary. Why is it usually specifically women?
@@x_slaughotto_x3129 In my opinion, (young) women tend to focus more into themselves to the point that a good amount hyper focus and try to grasp onto what they “are”- that’s why back in my day (god I sound old), girls were more focused into not being a “prep” or they claim to be “scene,” “goth.” Nowadays it’s astrology and sexualities that especially a lot of young women want to define themselves by (and seem more unique than the “others”).
Of course this is just my opinion, and not saying guys can’t do those things, I just think gals tend to do this more

Exactly what I've been saying!!!
You can't say "I'm not like other girls" anymore because it apparently means you have 'internalized misogyny.' That, and being told, 'why wouldn't you want to be like other girls, other girls are AMAZING!' I don't believe half of the celebrities at all like come on guys especially from our past NO ONE was like that FOR YEARS UNTIL NOW!, I don't believe it I don't
As someone who also has permanent brain damage one of the weirdest parts is your personality often changes. It’s a weird sensation one moment being one person and the next being another. It took me many years to rediscover myself because all of a sudden I had traits I didn’t have before. I hope Demi can work through this because flipping between labels is not the answer and it’ll just confuse them more
As a "nonbinary" person who has never come out as nonbinary but just always been myself, I don't understand the point of coming out. Just wear what you want and act how you want. It's not that big of a deal and no one cares. I told a friend once I think I am and they laughed and were like, "yeah and?" and I realized how little of a deal it is. Like who actually cares
This. I don't care who people are and what they identify with, but it's time to stop the ideological craziness. If some people feel uncomfortable in their bodies or have a different sexuality, they should be accepted and supported, that doesn't mean they have to wear it like a national flag and go persuade other people they should feel like this too. My daughter is 15, is comfortable being a girl, likes fashion and wears long hair, feels apparently perfectly heterossexual. But today she told me a girl in her class said she looks like a lesbian, and she felt uncomfortable. It had already happened with another girl last year. I mean, what the fuck. Even kids at 15 are throwing these kind of stuff at each other now. That's how much the agenda is being pushed everywhere. I've always been open to these issues and tolerant but I'm getting very tired of the propaganda and the nonsense. Mostly, leave the kids alone unless they express these kind of issues, in an age where they are vulnerable and already dealing with so many doubts and insecurities.
Do you use special pronouns
I'm not nonbinary, but it seems like an open ended term that people interpret and express differently. While you may not face ridicule for how you express your gender, i'm sure other nonbinary people do, so I think it's unfair to say, "like who actually cares"
People who get misgendered and disrespected frequently on the basis of their sexuality and gender do care
@@nidhisawant4313 sort of goes with the territory. Nazis and KKK members get disrespected all the time for going against the norm. I grew up with diabetic parents.
The whole being "triggered" by sugar-free toppings is ridiculous.
My doctor says I should reduce sugar intake among other things for reasons that have nothing to do with weight. Demi wants to put any place that services that need out of business. But naturally she limits herself to dealing with a small operation that she can bully.
Weight is about the balance between calories in vs. calories out. Some things do a better job of putting calories in and others do a better job of taking calories out. No one thing is an evil influence in that process. Neither is there anything that is a magic thing that solves the problem.
Eat in a way that results in less calories going in (for you). Act in a way that results in more calories going out (for you). Or do both. Anybody that is triggered by just one tiny element in the process is actually avoiding dealing with what they claim is an issue for them. It is definitely no one else's fault if you fail to do either of the obvious ways of dealing with weight.
I'm type 1 diabetic , when I saw her stories about the small business I felt like screaming my lungs out , small businesses that provide options for people who follow a certain diet and or diabetics should be encouraged not the opposite, My God , Demi embarrassed herself big time.

I would only throw a shit fit if they lied about the sugar free toppings and I ate them.
@@LenaClaire91232 Yes. We have all heard of something called an eating disorder. It is just that we don't know what your point is.
I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2011. A MAJOR part of this disorder is a lack of, or confusion about, a personal identity. I didn't know who I was unless I was around other people; then I could give them what I thought they wanted. But alone, I was completely blank. There were so many different iterations of me throughout the years, well past the normal adolescent time frame. I have since recovered by the extreme luck of finding an incredible doctor who worked directly with the woman who discovered that this disorder could not just be treated, but actually cured. No one in the psychiatric/psychology world even thought it was possible to treat the disorder, and many patients were actually sent away by their caregivers. This actually happened to my sister. I strongly believe that many, many people with this disorder are being confused into believing they're trans, and there's even a rush involved with finding a new identity when you have BPD. But it's dangerous. It's extremely dangerous. The affirmative therapy method is killing people, and it's becoming the standard across the Western World. We WILL see thousands and thousands of detransitioners in just the next few years, and suicides will reach epidemic proportions.
And now, Demi is back to she/her 🤷🏻♀️
So many excellent points. You can see in Demi’s eyes that she isn’t all the way there. And she’s got the non binary cookie cutter haircut now, like you can make a meme out of it. She’s lost.
Well she hasn't put on the Rachel Maddow glasses just yet, so there's still hope.
The haircut thing is so annoying. Demi isn't the first person to rock that haircut. Annie Lennox and demi Moore, for example, and neither have claimed they are non-binary.

Why can't these people acknowledge that you can express yourself in any way you want, and you REALLY don't have to put yourself any label because... Labels are just a way to normalize yourself? I don't get the point with the label thing. Is so counter intuitive in regards to sexual and gender liberation.
Edit: btw, Michel McDaniel's video about Demi's Karen moment on that froyo shop is top notch. I highly recommend it.
Thats exactly what I have been thinking. Thank you so much for put it in words
That video was great!
Lol, Michelle McDaniel is one of my fav YTere
I agree! I honestly hate labels. And now there are so many of them. How about embracing being an individual?
@Nicole Whitfield I completely understand that and I agree. The thing I was criticizing is the fixation with labels that is so common nowadays. In my opinion, is also a matter of epystemological violence when it becomes the only way to express identity, instead of letting the personal complexity reveal itself as a whole. I also think that (and it's what worries me the most) it has become a way to normalize diference and reframe it within a rationalized, classifiable spectrum of human sexuality/identity/expression of the self. I think, as you say, that the fact that people are trying now to "objectify" something that is just a subjective consideration of themselves, is very problematic. It becomes something shallow and something you can say you are because is fashionable or because it means to be accepted by other groups.
this video aged like wine

I think that label could fit most celebrities.
Perfectly said!
I agree 100%. I think Demi is having an identity crisis, and I can empathize. Demi was a child star, struggled with an ED and a substance problem that led to the OD. There's also A LOT of pressure on female pop stars to look a certain way so I can see why Demi would push back at that by saying "I don't identify as male or female" because then there's literally no expectation as to how a no binary person should dress, what their body should look like, how long their hair should be. Whereas for women in the public there's a lot of pressure to look attractive, sexy, etc. And for someone like Demi that pressure leads to unhealthy eating habits and substance use and self-destructive behaviors stemming of this feeling of "not being good enough". And that's 100% valid. However, coming out as non-binary seems disingenuous. It seems less of "this is who I truly am" and more of a "phew now they can leave me alone about my weight and appearance, stop speculating about when I'll get married and have a baby, and as a bonus I can be more than an ally to the LGBTQ community-based".
This comment. Yep.
She did say she had Bipolar disorder on top of everything she'd been through. When she OD, she did had some brain damage also. So, I bet she's having identity crisis.
This is a humane and thorough analysis
@@ad_kk16 tbf later on Demi said that other psychiatrists believed that the first diagnosis wasn't correct and that that's not the case.
It's really a lot of pressure. The pressure to look perfect feminine is so much that Demi still feels the need to have a full face of standard make-up, even identifying as non-binary. That's uncommon for most afab non-binary people
Edit: it's uncommon when they're already socially transitioning, not before
Ahhh the brain damage def makes sense.. as someone whose worked w a lot of people w Brian injuries it’s absolutely a spectrum , you can still be “functional” in the common sense but really not all there … especially these celebs who have a million people running their lives, they’re just existing and things get weird when boredom combines w mental illness/injury
The thing with Demi is that even before her overdose, she was troubled. She had issues with depression, self-harm and EDs. Now the whole gender identity stuff is the new emo, so it's not suprising that she's going there.
Demi's "comeback" album flopped spectacularly. So Demi tried to be woke about diet culture with the whole yogurt shop thing. And then, that backfired. So now she's non binary. That's literally it.

Spoiler alert, she's a trender.
She's gotten into so many nontroversies that you have to be intellectually dishonest if you think she isn't grasping for clout.
Dying her hair pink and cutting it short… her new style looks like she wants to be accepted by the left mainstream so bad. Why would she even need to change her looks? Isn’t it enough that she identifies as non binary or trans?
Do you thing the same about Eliot Page, former name (Ellen Page)? Not disagreeing or agreeing, I just love opinions so much.
@@thatnerdrachel I do not think Eliot is a trend follower.
@@thatnerdrachel i feel like he is genuine
But now that she's "trans" you can't hold her accountable for her bs. Unless she's conservative...
It drove me crazy when they interviewed Demi and they asked her about how she knew she was non-binary. Her response was "I just liked boy stuff. I laughed at farts. I loved hanging out with boys" Not only are those statements painfully sexist. It gender stereotypes "boy stuff" which is total crap. Many many girls LOVE "boy stuff". She completely over simplified the DEEP struggles that non-binary individuals go through and she contributed to harmful gender norms. It was painful watching that interview. I think it was clear her transition was inauthentic. You could feel it through the screen.
It is a very hard question even for "true" NBs.
It is a question without an answer because the concept of NB is dumb.
@@lol-ot4pn not really dumb itself, it's just the justification behind it which I find a bit strange
@@coffepot4800
Yeah, its the logic behind it.
Sure there should technically be NBs but the mere fact that it is a thing that we seriously think about as a society is what i think is dumb.
@@lol-ot4pn I mean, I personally don't think so. It's because society set so many standards for women and men separately that the concept of NBs exist. I think it's perfectly fine for ppl to be NB and identify as such but at the same time, they do it because NB ppl don't have expectations on how they should dress, act, date, etc based on what's on their pants. So I think that it is kind of dumb since instead of changing these standards ppl create new genders or things like that but simultaneously I also get it.
@@coffepot4800
Well you can still get it but also acknowledge how ridiculous it sounds.
Here is my thing. There is a man and a woman. You can dress, behave, look, present yourself however you like. Have whatever interests, aesthetics, hobbies that you want. You dont need the term NB for you to be that.
For me its just an unnecesary developemnt of a new term.
You can break those expectations without screaming to the world that you are.

The fact that so many Trans and gay people constantly have to argue that it's not a choice to so many people. And then have Demi over here just like I'm non binary for now later maybe I'll be a man or women idk yet. 😓
Ngl I hate when people judge us because of these kinds of people wanting attention. We are called so many names like disgusting, narcissistic, when all of us aren’t like that..
If you’re coming out on CZcams, then you’re probably attention-seeking but it really hurts when people mix us in with them.
"I'm non binary for now later maybe I'll be a man or women idk yet."
When did they say that?
It is a choice but demi playin frogger with gender really invalidates people who just wanna be happy with their choice. It gives everyone else a stigma, a nasty one at best.
It's a philosophical stance that's not worth debating, because in the end it's about how you feel about your body and how you project yourself to the world. Is it a "choice" to be trans?
No, is it a choice to change your pronouns and get gender reassignment surgery? Yes of course. How you feel about who you are isn't something you can manipulate too much, but you DO have a lot of choice in how you navigate those feelings.
@@astxrism8236 What's your font?
I worked for a magazine back in 2013-15. Demi was on the cover once and for a whole month we had featured videos , photos and interviews. I can tell you personally she was the meanest, rudest person I have ever worked with. I worked with so many celebrities that were so nice and down to earth. Demi was horrible, she truly was a narcissist. The month was all about Demi and she still wasn’t happy. She was rude to interviewers, staff and anyone that was around her.
She constantly told people how much she didn’t want to be there. She would roll her eyes at people constantly. She didn’t like the meals that were provided (she ignored us when we asked for meal options she wanted before the shoots) so we got her something else that she asked for refused to eat it and then later told a staff member that she would never eat that and then laughed and walked away.
It was such an awful experience. All that being said I know she has had a history of drug use, mental health issues and more. So I sympathize with those struggles but still it’s never a reason to be awful to people. We all struggle with stuff and most of us treat people like people still.
Quick question why a whole month , like what do they do for a whole month. Which magazine was this ?
thank you for the insight! pretty interesting
my closest guess would be Seventeen Magazine
@@dstoc7427 I'm not the op, but don't most magazines come out one issue per month? So if it were a magazine that focuses on an individual per issue, then that one issue would be a whole month dedicated to her.
Thanks for that insight. I could never stand the snippy full of herself wench... and you've just confirmed why. I don't read any mags or follow these "so-called" celebrities to know what she's done.... but have seen her as a judge on some talent show via youtube. Just pathetic !!
Years ago when I watched Demi’s documentary on Disney channel following her release from rehab for her eating disorder, I really thought she had gotten better and I was so proud of her. Now I’ve realised that she never truly got better and has just been trapped in a downward spiral of drugs, eating disorders and personality disorders
My favourite part of this video was the fact that the subtitles changed alok vaid menon to alok fade banana

Couldn’t agree more.. everything about her irritates me.. and the whole yogurt shop debacle just solidified my negative opinion of her
Demi is annoying since like 2015. Not to be mean but all those therapies must have taken a toll.
People are confusing identity and gender. Especially the younger generation. You don’t change your gender because you are feeling more masculine one day and more feminine later on or because it’s up and down. Demi is a woman who I believe is a lesbian if I’m not mistaken, why does she think being more masculine makes her not have a gender?
not a lesbian, «pansexual»
right? this has confused me so much. i see genderfluid people online change their pronouns when they’re “feeling a bit masculine today” like what does that even mean?? men can be feminine and women can be masculine. they act like gender expression and personality determines your gender.
Shes bi
This. Just because some days I dress more “masculine” doesn’t make me non binary or trans. It’s because it’s what I felt like putting on that day. Many of these people are conflating clothes to gender identity.
Absolutely I couldn’t agree more with you because nowadays if you were a tomboy and you’re a girl you are getting pure pressured and getting words put into your mouth saying that this is who you are my older sister she is a girl she identifies as a girl but she’s a tomboy complete tomboy she hates dresses she hates make up she’s not the froufrou type she loves playing sports rugby is her thing but she identifies as a straight Woman and that’s getting looked down upon. This is just a sadbut if you truly are non-binary I get it you are I have some friends who are and I support you but alot of people are completely confused or pure pressured or they’re getting words put into their mouth this is just like this incident of a father and his daughter happened in BC but his old girl who is a young child was a tomboy had a crush on her male teacher got sent to the office and then was taken to the hospital without parents knowledge or consent the parents thought this child was still at schoolThen at the hospital she got diagnosed without parents knowledge and then we started given puberty blockers without parent consent or knowledge about this and the dad is going to jail because he thinks it’s ridiculous that this happened to his little girl without a conversation without going through therapy to make sure this is legit because that little girls never gonna be able to have children after that and he’s not allowed to talk about it because he can get sued and because he keeps trying to bring it up he is now going to jail and this is getting targeted to young mainly young girls because God for bid that you can be a tomboy and like sports and don’t really have any interest in Barbie.
It's so strange to me, that so many people are so eager to jump into a category or box. I thought the name of the game was "escape the box".
Whilst I feel for Demi for what she's been through, I will not excuse her vile and disgusting behavior. She rallied a hate mob of her own fans against that small WOMAN OWNED froyo business simply because they had sugar free and gluten free food options. Personally I think she might have "Come out" simply to take the focus away from what she had done. She tends to that often.
I would've thought it would've been considerate to provide such options in a shop.

She has always been a trend hopper. She stopped doing her pop rock music when it started not being as popular of a genre and she started following the sound pop was going. She stood out doing pop rock as it suited her well and really suited her voice. And once music was shifting, so did she. She's never been a trend setter since then and she's always been a trend follower and trying to make it her own. So yeah her trend hopping, no surprise
You describe this whole process as if singers aren't under labels and just out of the blue make all the creative choices themselves. No hate but this ain't true, also it was always on the poppy side with some rock elements.
@@dstoc7427 yeah pop rock. I literally said pop rock. which is way more rock than just flat out pop. And if you dont think she doesnt have a say, you're just as naive. They dont control everything.
