He would then screw it into the cork, both peices of metal give it leverage for him. Using a screw driver he also twisted out. Found it on the ground. It was someones property that i was on so i picked it up and set it on one of their trucks for them
In Poland, for 12-25 PLN (3-6 $) you can easily buy a regular professional pneumatic opener that works on the same principle, but is about 15 cm (6 inches) in size. :D Leave the car pump for cars. XD

In the 70s we had a hand held pump which a 3 inch hollow needle for exactly this purpose.
These pumps will always have some oil or grease lubricants for O-ring. Some will come out with every stroke.
I prefer my wine without little bits of cork from a screw driver
