Screamin' Eagle components are the key to greater acceleration, increased passing muscle, & more of that rip roaring raw exhaust note that makes power more than a little addicting. Big fan of stage 3 119/122. BUT..
    heads up MoCo replaced the designed for the higher 11-1 compression stage 3 kit, 498 cam & springs for the can’t breathe or rev 447 torque cam.
    I think this was done because a stage 3 could produce power just a smidge short of the cash cow stage 4 kits. MoCo didn’t want you to know you could get 95% of the power for less than 50% of the kit & labor price of the stage 4.
    Just tell your dealership you want the 498 cam & springs instead of the 447 cam & springs with your stage 3 119/122.
    FWIW the 498 cam doesn’t lose bottom end torque like the stage 4 515 cam it simply doesn’t make quite as much top end HP. I have a fall of 2019 stage 3 114ci with 498 cam. It dynoed 116 HP and pulls at 2k rpm in town better than my stocker did.

      Lol no. For starters, it's easier to conform to EPA regulations if at stock the bikes are more "tame". It's also cheaper manufacturing, so they can sell the bikes a lower price, sell these kits to enthusiasts (which you are probably not), and stay within the limits of what regulations consider "premium"

      UKFlamesey stock push rods will be fine. The only reason to use the adjustable ones on stage II is to keep from taking off the heads. This is my opinion only but skip stage III and go to IV or best bang for the buck Stage II. I have the 4 and my buddy has a 2 on streetglides. 0-60 I have just over a bike length on him. I had picked up an Ultra Limited with a 107 for a good price, bumped it up to a stage 3 and it was a loud torquey beast….couple yrs later i moved to a Road Glide with a 114 and for what its worth to me that 114 in my 2021 has more balls than the 2018 stage 3 107. To keep it fair and honest tho my new 114 does have the screaming eagle stage 1 bump on it. And Granted there are some weight differences and diff suspensions but I prefer this factory 114. Now, i just gotta convince the wife to let me take this 114 up to the 122 lol. Fingers crossed

    • @harleydavidson
      @harleydavidson  Před 5 lety +4

      Hey, Joseph. A drop in mpg is to be expected with the addition of the kit. How much it drops really depends on the rider and how aggressive they are on the throttle.

      Yes, you can expect a decrease in gas mileage with the Stage 1 upgrade with the trade-off of more torque and a more powerful bike. But, how much the mpg drops will still fall on the rider.

    If you own a M8 like my 2018 Fatbob, 2017 and 2019 CVOs don't waste money on Harley stage kits. The engine will blow up due to oil pump design flaws and/or plastic tappet guides. Yeah and $50k motorcycle with plastic tappet guides. Neither the dealer who installs it or H corp office will disclose this. S&S, Fueling or Zipper all make higher quality performance kits.
