The Nexen drag radials really hook much better and the suspension does what it is supposed to. Plus line lock (havent used it yet) and trans brake out of the Demon is awesome and fun to play with. I opted for rear delete but added the pass seat. it has the hellcat (old style) hood... it has the demon trans brake, half shafts, torque reserve, drag suspension, steet slicks, line locks, drag lugs, beadlock/aluminum drag rims, drag button in the lower cluster... lighter, louder, quicker, then my shaker scat.

I feel it all depends on what you want the car for. If you don't go to the drag strip but love kicking it on the highway from time to time then the ScatPack with the Dynamics package will do the trick, you just won't have the upgraded suspension even though the Bilstein suspension is not that bad.

  • @lovethesmellofracefuelinth7374

The 1320 is an awesome addition to the Mopar lineup, and would probably be my choice if I replaced my chally (as far as an NA vehicle goes anyway). I would most definitely pick it over the shaker, and am really surprised that it's actually less money. You could do an aftermarket shaker pretty easily anyway, so that's no big deal and personally always favor an increase in performance over form. Love it how Chrysler is focusing on their performance minded customers, and are bringing us the goods. It was very smart of them to create the demon after producing hellcat, because it inspires the competition and is good for all gearheads. But most importantly, it keeps mopar on top and you got to love that. With the release of the new redeye widebodys as well as 1320, Dodge/SRT is top innovator and rule the blacktop 👍🏽

The 1320 you reviewed was close to 51k because it had the "Plus" package on it, which gives it the Alcantara seats, power adjustable steering column, and few other power goodies. A base 1320 comes in at around 44k, and has cloth seats, manual adjustable steering column, no nav, or anything else that isn't standard. I'm sure that this saves weight on the car. The 1320 only comes with a drivers seat as well, like the Demon. You have to option in the passenger seat and the rear seat if you want them for $1 each. My dealer optioned all of their 1320 with all of the seats for the first batch. The only options mine has is a sunroof (which I NEVER would've ordered, but the dealer ordered all of theirs the same way) and the red brake calipers. I originally wouldn't have ordered the red calipers either, but now that I've had the car for 3 months, I've gotten used to them and I think they look pretty cool. My 1320 with the optional sunroof and red calipers stickered at 47k. The dealership where I bought mine is pretty aggressive on pricing and is one of the highest volume Dodge dealers in the area. Mine was discounted down to 38k when it came off the truck. I bought mine two days after it was delivered. I think I bought the first 1320 sold at that dealership. I love the car so far. It rides really great (I keep mine in Sport mode for normal driving), and the gas mileage isn't bad for what you're getting. I just took mine on a 500 mile round trip to the beach and I averaged 22 mpg with the cruise set at 80 and the a/c on.

EDIT: I AM kind of a noob, though lol just my two cents. i think the 1320 has some great options that help ppl function on a drag strip a little easier. but, besides the suspension, imo if you throw wider wheels and a good compound tire on the Scat Pack you can achieve the same thing without mods. same power plant, just a few extra cool knick knacks. i wouldn't trade my 18 for a 1320. i definitely admire it, though!

4 main things make the 1320 a 1320. Wheels/tires, drag mode, the better axles but most importantly it has a trans brake. I can't believe you left out that it has a trans brake. That's one of the biggest features. That and the axles. A car can bolt up a set of wheels and tires. Not so easy with the axles or the trans brake if you wanted to keep warranty.

Caught this 2 years after you did the video. You might not have known. The 1320 has the similar torque converter as the demon as well. I did buy a new 2021 1320, and my only complaint is when you do drive it around.. it takes a but for the transmission to get going.. so, many times I do use the paddles, as having come from a M6 Shaker.. Also, the drag radials are nice, but do not like weather temps about 32 degrees. So, I replaced mine with AS tires to drive around. Great video as always.

@demarcuslett8419 honestly, without knowing your situation, or you personally. I couldn't tell you yes or no. Gas, oil changes , insurance, ect aren't cheap on these cars. The 6.4 is at least mid grade for fuel. As well as newer drivers having issues keeping them on the street and not losing control is another issue. Also, depending upon where you live. Most of these cars have become theft magnets..
Not saying you shouldn't or couldn't whatever. But, there's a risk.
However, if you do decide to buy one. Make sure you change out the tires from the 245s that you'll find come with most of the 6.4, and even 5.7..
I bought my 1320 to race, as well as street driving.. The 1320, I wouldn't suggest getting for a daily if you do, but that's due to the way the car is set up.
I will say that the Challenger itself is a comfortable car. I'm 6'4, and 220.. IF, you're not worried about power, and being the hemi.. the 3.6 is a great starter.. with a few mods.. it'll look like the higher models. Plus, the 3.6 comes in AWD, and the hemi models don't.
But, again not knowing you, your situation, or your capabilities.. I couldn't tell you whether the 1320 or other Challenger is right for you. Plus, unless you test drive one. You might not even like it, as every person has different taste. Hope it helps.

When you tell people it costs in the low 50s a lot of people don't realize that price is with several options and it might scare folks away from purchasing one. 2. How HARD does the tranny shift? Does it HIT HARDER than a regular Scat? Please give me some feedback on this because you own a regular Scat. Does this have a torque converter from a Demon?
