Never thought that i`d see Mr Fisk (sorry for the joke lol) playing a Drop C tunning through a engl and esp, but it was a nice surprise, Phillip!
Best demo of this amp out of the 20 I must've watched. Great job dude!
Thank you Phil. I've been looking a long time for great bedroom tube amp that is more than a one trick pony and this one seems to be the best I've seen.
Phil knows this amp very well. I own one and it is quite amazing how wildly versatile it is. Great amp!
Very versatile and a ton of useful tones and sounds and being able to drop between 1-25W is helpful. Thanks for sharing
This amp sounds fantastic and your playing is absolutely magic!
Thank you, that is very kind of you to say. Have a great day
I had the Screamer. That was one of the best crunch tones I ever heard. As I remember, because of the 4 (kinda fake channels) you had 2 crunch channels. The high gain channel probably needed a booster, but I didn't know that at that time.
Great video! Thanks!
Is this amp “bright” sounding?
I play a Mesa Mark V:25 and it is very dark and “woofy” to my ears. Im looking at the Fireball 25 as a replacement.
Great playing by the way Phil.
Heck yeah! Awesome to finally see that prs hollowbody II in action! I've been really curious about it for a while now.
Great review btw! Love the content.
The all time best ever real deep deep review of an amp I have ever seen with me trully writing down your settings one by one for each guitar you bring up so I can do the same with my laney irt 15h. Thank you so much!! Now I want to buy this beast......oh!
I have this ENGL and it's great. Higain is perfect, clean&crunch are great too. Power soak works perfectly, volume adjustment is very smooth
Wow thanks for this demonstration I'm sold on this it's so versatile and sounds different with each guitar!🤘
Best gear video, ever! Real thorough and great sound 👍
I am so impressed by this amp! Want to do some heavy blues and never thought about this amp as a possibility until you worked those cleans! They are absolutely beautiful. I am still shocked! Thank you for a GREAT review. Walking all those tones through the different guitars.
You got some fire on you Phil! That initial riffing was sick!!!
Phil, I bought this for my studio specifically because of your review. I've been after a 6l6 tube amp for a while to compliment my JCM900. Great review!
Phil, you are definitely my favorite guitar gear guy on youtube. You can and do your damndest to make sure whatever you review or show gets a fair and broad shake.
Ive got the Joyo Firebrand, which is 'inspired', I suppose, by the Fireball, and this just confirms that everything i love about it is present and more with the legit Fireball. This might be my next amp purchase.
I really love your playing on these reviews! I’m a total beginner and it gives me something to shoot for!
That E-ii horizon is amazing. I recently bought the E-ii M-ii after playing on a ltd m1000 and m400m for 7 years.
That was really great demo phil!! That amp is sick!! 🤘🏻🇦🇺🤘🏻
Great amp man. Just been playing with mine. It's so versatile! Loved it last year at gear street and never stopped. You could say its got all the 'bells' and whistles 😉👍
My god! That blue sparkle on that Charvel is just gorgeous!
great video. i wish a lot of amp review had this format.
Wow, just wow. Great job!
Great video Sir! This video shed some light for me. Thanks again. Cheers 🍻
What a sweet sounding amp, great playing !
You’ve got a killer collection of 🎸. I personally love Engl amps ( hell all German amps for that matter. I own or have owned Engls, HK’s Bogner- my all time fav). Your demo really shows the versatility of this Engl.
Impressive demoing! Your skill really sells the amp!
Incredible video, probably one of the best I have seen on accessing a variety of amazing tones by simple changes in settings! My only amp is a Soldano Hot Rod 25...gives me the sound I have dreamed of after 50 years of playing...without the need to be a master of amp fine tuning. Although this ENGL amp produces my favorite sounds, I would find this too stressful trying to get the tones you were able to get so easily. ENGL should pay YOU to produce a comprehensive video with a detailed explanation of the visual settings for each tone, then maybe I would consider buying one. This amp reminds me of why I stopped playing Mesa Boogie amps after I sold my too easy to use Triaxis preamp and Mesa 20/20 power amp rack setup built for me by David Friedman many years ago, I do not have the time or skills to spend hours turning a variety of knobs trying to get the sounds possible from a Mesa Mk 5 amp. Again, well done my friend!
That sounds REALLY good!
Man Phil, you upped your review game. Also that Charvelle.....Muuah!!! Fabulous sound!
Fantastic amp and great review
The amp's versatility and tone make it worth its somewhat lofty price. Nice playing on the E-II, by the way!
Thanks for the great demo j
😳 That amp sounds amazing.
Everytime you pick up that Tele I get impressed by how good looking it is
Would love to have one. Great demo..thanks!
You do know your gear Phill. Great review!
"I'm going to simulate a Fender Bassman, cranked" (followed by a 'kid in a candy shop' grin). Thanks for all you do, Phil!
Good demo man 👍
Engl make the best amps out there. So versatile, my only gear selling regret is selling my thunder head
I was considering the Orange Rocker 15, but I may have to get the Engl. An amp that can do blues to vintage rock to high gain balls to the wall metal is perfect for me. I need one that does everything. And this does everything so well that it's like having an amp designed for each style. That's beyond impressive.
Great review!
I have a Fireball 60 awesome sound and great clean channel. I also have a Engl 530 stereo tube preamp in my rack setup. The savage is next on my list, I love engl amps they are killer for high gain and they have a terrific clean channel, I will say the powerball in any configuration is their worst amp. Glad to see you liked the lunch box. ENGL RULES!!!
Versatile yes top shelf demo actually..... all those guitars come in handy....its a great little amp
I didn't know how versatile this amp can be. Could be the home studio amp I'm interested in.
Ive had one on order for 2 month and the us delivery gets pushed back constantly! I’m super excited to plug into it!
I like that ESP. I'd play it in standard tuning or half step down (for Slayer songs) though. That PRS hollow body has a lovely clean sound. Very close to a real acoustic. Anyway it's an amazing amp. I must research the price
Faaaaark that sounds heeeectic!!! Hell yeah bro Phill getting his chug on!!
🤘🏻🇦🇺🤘🏻
Thanks for the clever review. Knowing how to play is a thing, knowing how to dial an amp is another. There are actually few demos in there where the musicians are actually dialing amps. I enjoyed the video, I might consider testing, if not buying a Fireball 25 one of these days :).
Great review Phil! You’ve got my curiosity peeked.
*piqued
Very nice demo and sound, glad i found this in my google search!
Nice review.
This is the perfect amp for me, a stay at home metalhead.
That amp is el super Beasto! Writing a letter to Santa ASAP!🎅🎸
Sounds good wish I could get one.
Terriffic review! Shows your enthusiasm for the amp. 🤘🎸
Very premo guitar playing boi c:
I love that bassie crunch
That Charvel is sweeeeeet!!!
Good god that’s with no pedals? If so that’s insane! That’s cd quality produced mastered tone straight out! Maybe the best chunk tone I’ve heard.
Ahhhh dude love the esp
Amazing sounding amp but I can't stop looking at that purple Wolfgang 👀 I love those guitars. I wish that I had more than one.
I have the ENGL Powerball pedal. Into the clean channel of my Marshall TSL it basically turns it into the Fireball. Great option if you only have a couple hundred bucks to spend.
Thanks Phil.
Greeeeeat video!!!
Nice one Phil, I reckon the switching pedals will already be in the post : )
The riff on the esp was actually so freaking sick esp the lick before the chorus of it
Kind of reminded me of Ra “Do You Call My Name.”
Carmina burana Taste
It does sound like O Fortuna
Esp on the esp..? Lolz.
Howz abouts a ltd run of LTD, Pty. Ltd, guitars..?
We're going Pun-tastic! 🙄
You play really well Phillip. And that amp sounds nice. Personally I don't like foot switches. I have two for my Marshall TSL60s and I keep them in the closet. As I don't want to trip over them.
Nice vid phil 👍
you aint even watch it its 10 minutes he just posted it
Damn when I heard the price I was like ehhh idk that's expensive. Then I heard it and was blown away. Sounds amazing!
It's waaay cheaper in europe. I think it's around 900 bucks here in germany
@@user-dh1yh1tc5h Can you pls send me one? :)
1:24 first time hearing the bad things about fireball 100
Indeed this amp is pretty versatile
Ty
Great demo and great sounding amp! Although for $1300, it's a crying shame that footswitches are not included.
Gives you everything you need if you are as good a player as Phil. I suck so I’ll stick with my Blackstar, it gives me what I need for my ability of playing.
Best!
channel
Amp has a meaty distortion without sounding fuzzy
Omfg.... I Love Your Charvel ... Your tone from that beautiful metallic blue beast from your fingers to the strings into the pickups into the Engl amp out of the FX loop through your pedals back into the Engl through the FX in loop Jack Wow..!!! What size speaker are you playing through..??? However, through my experience most microphones can’t distinguish between a 6” speaker or a 10” or 12” speaker ...
well that blew me away, seriously! so this is a jack of all trades kinda amp, any other amps you could say are this flexible?
Its really this vs g20 for me, both seem very versatile
that is crunchy AF!
Great amp demo Phil, clear & concise as always. Could you please tell me if the person that did the custom paint job on your Charvel takes orders/jobs from Europe?
Great demo Phil! That is a super versatile amp! What do you think about this amp vs. One of the 2 channel Friedman amps?
CHUGGING in drop C by Phil. Life is complete.
Nice demo, Philip! Do any of the readily available generic Marshall-style latching footswitches work with this amp?
Nice E2 👍🏻
I wish all reviews were like this. Just a few bars for each sound/guitar combo instead of 4 mins of chugging. 5 stars
Hi Phillip, fantastic episode as usual... do you mean the channel cannot be switched without a pedal on this amp ? want to get one of these but should I buy a pedal to switch channels actually ? Keep up the good work man.
That's a nice E2
ENGL is such a quality Amp Brand and your demo is only reinforcing my decision to get the Fireball. I've owned the ENGL Ironball for about 7 years and is hands down my favorite lunchbox head. It does heavy, it does edge of breakup, along with great cleans, takes pedals well, and has built in Attenuation. I've tried others but there has not been anything good enough to dethrone it LOL. That list includes: EVH 5150 III LBX 2, Peavey 6505MH, Orange Brent Hinds Terror(still have it, cool amp overall but it's not a high gain amp, needs a boost to do modern metal), ENGL Gigmaster 15, Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18, & Blackstar HT5.
The special edition or regular ironball
@@jaychen2000metal The original Ironball. The SE is relatively new.
Hey i love your channel and wanted to ask supersonic vs deluxe reverb. And can you do a heritage semi hollow vs gibson semi hollow
Definitely not a one trick pony. Great demonstration of the amps versatility.
I gotta say, I love the sound of the Fireball in that demo, unfortunately, I do not have the $$, or even the space to play it without turning my family bat-crap crazy... So I turned to my beloved Sparks, tuned in the first Engl Fireball present I could find, tuned it a bit, and I have something very close to the original's sound. And I can play it with my headphones.
Gotta love those Sparks.
Someday I may buy the real deal, but for now, the Sparks will do
I'm thinking that's the best sounding amp out there.
Hey Phil which amp do you think would be the best for 70s hard rock to 90s grunge (AiC/Soundgarden) the Engl Fireball 25, PRS MT-15 or the Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini 20? I have a couple of Power Soaks for bedroom volume. ????
Nice video as usual and nice E-II, sir. I really wish that ESP would just put ESP on their american made guitars. Or of they wanted to brand them differently then make it ESPA, or ESPa, so that people knew that it was the ESP USA custom shop, as opposed to E-II which sounds like a step below ESP. I mean, it is not like an LTD which is not even made by ESP, just licensed like all overseas guitars that are not made by Fender USA, or Ibanez Japan, etc., for example. Just drives me nuts, sir!
Thanks for the great video as usual.
Normally don’t really go wow on any Amp demos - most sound pretty good in one type of style or another and not really a heavy type of player, but that amp sounded very ‘musical’ in all the modes - no harshness in anything. Very pleasing sounding every mode, very cool.
I would love to see a comparison between this and the Ironball head.
So I've heard Phil use one of these recently (his Badlands guitar vid), and I'm wondering if he kept the fireball and sold the Ironball SE despite all its bells and whistles.
Niiice. Loved the settings on the Def Lep riffage. And then on the Telecaster .... with that amount of break-up. That things sounds sweet. And really versatile. Cool amp. I've seen HP42 rock that thing too.
I looked at the price of this, and ran into my studio to give my Tweaker 15 a hug
@andy bosik That they are lol
That tele wow
Very off topic, but what is the blue guitar with the P-90s in it behind you?
Can't decide what to get, the firball 25 or prs mt15 which one sound heavier and darker. Hard to decide based on youtube sound.
Any suggestions from any one who tried both live?
