New RIG OF THE WEEK - Trying out the Engl Fireball 25. Monday morning chugging man
Ola Englund Nice chuck. I love the Engl sound.
This Fing sounds good
(pre) New Ink? ..and pre db meter fix?
Its always a good time to chug #ChugLife
Bro that solar axe in the opening is mint
Anything "Engl" just sounds so fucking incredible!
Even with extreme saturation, there's still a hell of a lot of stringiness and clarity.
Swear he was about to play Seasons in the Abyss at the start there...
Thought so too!! haha!! \,,,/
Savage balls in fact.
What is that song he plays?
Yup!
At first I was like "...it's time to play the gaaaame!" then he hit the high strings and then it turned into a slayer vibe.
Thank you for letting us hear the amp through real speaker and a room mike. And Not through some DAW IRs.
This gives best impression about how the amp really sounds when playing live.
Much appreciated.
+1 DI IRs can show the ceiling but real room sounds are needed for baselining
The Anthrax riff at 5:58 sounded really good with that amp. That thing smokes the PRS MT15.
One of the best sounds in the last months on Ola's channel.
There’s just something magical about ENGL tones, in general! And this little amp is quite adorable!
Agreed. I'm not even into real amps but this sounds great. And I don't think he post processes audio much.
@@bikesnbeerz how can someone not be into real amps?! I mean even using modeler software, they are modeling real amps
@@TheApsodist Agreed. I mean, I would love many many amp but my Axe III and Neural DSP stuff does enough.
You are a much better guitar player than Ola, love your channel too.
@@TheAnalyticalObservers brother, I appreciate the support but it’s not about who’s better and that’s all subjective. Ola is an awesome riff master!
Holy shit that opening riff though!
Sounds like mouth for war
I thought it was kinda like seasons of the abyss
I picked up a Fireball yesterday. I love it.
I've got the big version of this, the 100 watt, and it's only a few hundred dollars more, and all you need to do is put the the lead gain on four, and the, "chug" is incredible on this thing. The low end is absolutely beautiful, and articulate, the mids are amazing, highs...well...you get the point.
This is the kind of amp that makes you never want to stop playing guitar. I will gladly pay the large price tag for this amp
I first thought it's a "large price tag" aswell but i think i paid around 850€ and actually it's one of my best gear purchases ever. I'm glad i bought this instead of wasting more money on "cheaper" amps.
1:02 Hilariously self-aware! Love the levity, Ola.
9:06 that's like literally the guitar tone I've been searching for my entire life
Nice lol
My Fireball 60 Chrome grill (2005) is still my #1 amp, after 15 years. Such a beast!
Just ordered one ! thanks again Ola for helping me make a decision on a new purchase .
I was waiting for that adorable singing during opening riff like it was on Sunday with OLA #11 :)
That's Engl quality as well. It's crazy how you don't need that much power to play in a room. Even 25 W would quite enough to do a small gig.
Nice video Olaé
I own the Ironball 25, very similar features and very versatile. I really love this amp. I’ve sold all other physical amps, using plugins but kept the ironball because it is just a small kick ass sounding amp!
Awesome amps, that tone in the intro tune was something else
Ola...hell yeah.... Love that intro man...that will get u going.... The Fireball 25 sounds gr8 to me man
,,,,,,,,,,dude..hello,from land o' lakes,wi........just want to tell you MR.OLA.!....thank you for being the DIMEBAG- KEEPER OF THE FLAME.......you,by far , are the best CZcams personality that keeps me updated of all that he was and still is today...........at least once a week you remind me of great days gone by...we need you to continue his for all us devoted fans for life.............it means so much............thank you,MR.OLA...pat.
This tone is crushing. Holy shit. Not too much low, not too much high.... friggin perfect. Jesus that sounded awesome
11:15 Ohhhhhh baby! I was in another tab when that hit me, immediately switched back over. Good shit Ola!
the mid tone lead sounds at 6:30 or so very hardrock or even bluesrock. but the rythm sound is absolute phantastic.
that sounds fucking great, crisp, with a nice grimey hum on the chug, but very sharp response, amazing
I really want that amp after watching this , that tone is incredible! Chug for days! thanks Ola great review !
I ESPECIALLY love the opening riffs on this one! That's some mosh material right there!
Awesome video! First person to demo the power soak! I just ordered one!
I’ve been waiting so long for you demo this amp, Ola! Well, not that long, but thanks regardless! Stay chugging 🤘
Love the little anthrax riff there for a few seconds! Amp sounds kick ass!
I have the Powerball 2 and it is an awesome beast!Engle are the best amps on the market!!Great cleans and massive gains with sound sculpting!!!
Just talking with my Sweetwater sales guy and he told me about your demo you did there. Im new to this channel so it's fun to learn about who you are. Have a great day
That sounds great! Luv my Engl Ironball 20!
That lil amp is brutal! 🤘👿🤘 I need a smoke after all that riffage! 😎🚬
Wow this amp sounds absolutely crushing!
Nice snarly sound right off the bat. Am a fan.
First time I've been here this early, Love the videos ola you're a huge inspiration to me
Oh heck yeah the Hesu’s back! I still miss the one with Demon speakers but I love the Hesu sound in general
HI Ola! Love your content dude, always watching the new stuff AND the old stuff! My question to you is would it be possible to go through your entire microphone set for us in a video? Thanks dude and keep being awesome!
I mean, who doesn't have a good time tweaking their knobs?
I see you seriously everywhere, Hoppo. See ya in a couple hours if Josh decides to stream today!
Combine it with some twiddling and you're in heaven.
@@JT-jb7ux I get around!
Not allways haha if Yourre struggling to find a sweet tone and it doesn't suit your needs
The Engl amps are special, they all sound amazing.
I could listen to Ola do this for 1 hour straight. Nice amp....I want one.
That intro song was fire, then it stepped into double time and blew my freaking mind!
Intro riff sounds sickk man. Thought it was Seasons for a sec, but even better
almost☠️☠️☠️
dig the intro this week. super groovy!
Nice! Sounds Killer. I want one Now!!
Always impressed with the TLM 102, this is the real deal for micing up an Metal Amp IMO. The Engl sounds Beautiful
I remember when I saw a clip on CZcams (ages ago!) where Jeff Loomis played through an ENGL Fireball...and that's why I have one now. Not the best cleans, but the rhythm tone is just awesome!
My go-to amp. You actually dialed in a damn near similar tone that i use.
The intro riffs were sooooo sickkkk!!!
Thank you finally! Been waiting for this ever since you teased it in your closet a few months ago
That first groove,,,dope!
That Neumann condenser mic was rly kickass! It always manages to handle the entirety of the spectrum.
The intro riffage was stunning! And the tone - that's the perfect metal tone for me, right there, it's got the "Marshall'y" grit with more punch and clarity. I've got some good time with ENGL Screamer, this looks like a nice upgrade in the future.
I love that hesu 2×12. So much character.
Ola with the Anthrax made me smile! :)
That Engl Fireball 25 is a little beast! It sounds killer through your Hesu 212.
This is one of the best tones I've ever heard in this series.
Too much prescence for me
@@fredriksvard2603 I can see that but I like it personally
dont know what you like from that fizzy machine.it sound like a cheap marchal with better mids
@@xdx2653 I think you should put fresh batteries in your hearing aids...
@@markuso1862 why?? Can't say my opinion?coz I can say the same with you if you find that tone good for 900 euros
The ENGL Powerball and Fireball have always been on my wish list.
I have never tried a fireball but I relay love the Powerball amp on my GE250 and I’m hoping the fireball will be better as that’s what I’m wanting to buy next
Great sounding amp!!
That opening is wicked.
I had a Fireball 60. I wish I had kept it. Best sounding rock/metal amp I have ever owned. And I have had many.
I love ENGL amps their amps are dark sounding but in a good way
*EVERYTHING* in this video makes me happy, but man... dat bass tone though... 💖
dude you made it sound fucking great. Good choice with the 2x12!
Ola, for the next "In the room" could you set up your Marshall DSL-1 (if you still own it). We all know it chugs, but I'd really like to hear the full sound, I'm thinking about picking up one.
great tone!!
Absolutely beautiful sounding amp, wish I could afford one. If you ever get a chance, would love to see you do a Mesa stiletto deuce stage 1, mainly because I would love to see what you could get out of it.
Hell yeah... That riffage is sick. Love the Dimey flavor....
Love your stuff. Watch your vids all the time, but, I am curious. Are there any plans to make a 4 and 5 string Solar Bass? Would be badass, especially with that reverse headstock!
Ola, so very nice to hear you play composition. Someone mentioned it sounded like a song that's already out there. That makes no difference to me. I mean zero disrespect when I say this, but you tend to just do the same chug over an over when testing equipment. When you do what you've done here, and may toss in a short lead, it really displays the sound of the amp. I want to go out and buy one of these now. No Sh*t! Keep up the good work. Metal Man
“Yeah, I mean the amp itself doesn’t necessarily need the boost.” No shit! 😂😂😂
Sounds great!
Ola playing some Anthrax!!!! That makes my day.
Possibly my favorite tone ever.
I have Ironball 20 and Fireball 60. Now I really wanna try this little monster as well)) Noise gate - that's great, I only miss Reverb like in Ironball)
Hell yeah, I need one of those! Well that...and a Sigil...and a SLO30...and a JJ Jr...and a Ecstasy 3534.....
Love that riff 😎
Love the intro riff.
"Speaker off" has too much mid-range.
I was thinking about buying this amp just for that. So that I could apply an IR later. You're talking like you already have this amp: would you mind recording some riffing through that line out and share it, so that I could see what I would be able to do with it?
@@bertalanolah6565 it was a joke 😁. Speaker off = No sound. When he played with the Speaker off said something like the sound was fantastic. 😝
The evh 5150 sounds better tone wise I would think and it’s a bit cheaper. But I couldn’t really say unless I hear this in person
@@bertalanolah6565 if you wanna go down the IR route I woukd consider a Mooer Radar. If you don't know what it is check it out! Ola even did a vid of it. Cradle of filth use them live as of 2018.
@@clintbeastwood6149 in the used market, not anymore.
I missed that hesu. Those speakers sound amazing.
V30 i think
@@jesus4pincho nope demon speaker
He mentioned in the video it's a T-75, this particular hesu has one of these and a V30 (which was not mic'ed)
@@jesus4pincho beauuut
@@plumbummusic2051 my fault
Would love an IR of this rig. Best t75 sound I've heard
Kicks, chugs, and doinates. Love it?
What i hoped for with the engl fireball
5:58 finally some freaking anthrax on this channel!!! thank you!
The intro sounds like blues mixed with metal which sounds awsome
That Hesu cab is sick but this video would have been so much better if you got your hands on the Engl E212 VB cab to go with that Fireball 25. Its such a wicked looking cab and would have been a perfect combo for this video.
it's official. if i ever went back to tube amps, this would be the one. i've been using the line 6 fireball model for more years than i can remember. but this little guy sounds amazing.
Same with me. Live rig is fireball on my helix
@@DalbyMetalHead666
I'll join the ANGL Meteor fangroup. Sooo good.
Always love to hear Ola playing those tasty Machine Head licks
exactly want i need to see as a review
after my fireball 100 missing me so much
Dang it Ola I was gonna get the Peavey Invective but now I’m interested in an ENGL Fireball help!
That opening riff is so fucking killer
Sick guitar 🤘🤘
Starting to really like the sounds i hear from ENGL!!
Nobody:
Ola Testing something and checking the sound: ta na ta na ta na...
Awesome anyhow whenever it was made - Diobolis in musica riff there from Anthrax, nice!
What's up Ola love Preachers of Death one of my favorite songs hope to have a Solar one day the look amazing and look like they play awesome as well
I bought this amp last month and it absolutely slays!
Hey man I was wondering how are you getting on with this amp as I’m wanting to buy it.I’ve only ever played a powerball through the Mooer GE250 on the amp section but I love it and I’m hoping the fireball will actually be an upgrade on it
I got some AJFA vibes in the last part of that little chuggidy chug at the beginning
Hell Yeah! I own this amp and I love it. I hoped so much for Ola testing it on video. My sound is great, but Ola's sound is from a DIFFERENT DIMENSION!
Hi Dirk,I currently have a MT-15.Would you say this amp is a big upgrade on that amp or not really ?thanks
@@gazzaduce3424 Hi Gazza, i tested the MT-15 once in a store. I liked the wonderful clean tone very much. I think the lead tone of the MT-15 is more "traditional" compard to the Fireball 25, which is more "modern", but also realy nice. In the end this is a matter of taste. I love the typical Engl-gain which is powerful, but stays precise.
My main reason for buying the Fireball is the powersoak. I can do silent recording and practising with power off at home without disturbing our two small children. I go from the line out into a Torpedo C.A.B. M from Two notes and than into a mixer, headphone, PC... 1 W or 5 W Power is nice for band practice, 25 W is really loud and in most cases enough for stage.
The amp is really flexible. If you appreciate the powersoak/silent recording and the specific sound of the amp it's an upgrage from my point of view, if not, you can stay with the MT-15, which is also a great amp.
@@dirkjanson8808 thanks for the reply man.Yeah the MT-15 is too loud for bedroom use so the fireball would be handy.I have just bough the Mooer GE250 and been playing through some amps on there and I was really digging the fireball.I have a Yamaha THR10X for low jamming in the house and I reckon that’s the best little bit of kit I’ve spent money on.The distortion is great and it’s so convenient to take places.
Ola, sounds awesome!
Your mike mix stuff is always interesting. Especially since we know alot gets lost in translation through CZcams. It be fun for you to do some reviews of snipits from your past videos where you give commentary of your thoughts how the video sounds to you compared to when you shot it live in studio. Especially your opinions of the differences, and what you feel does not make through the mix to viewers.
Love your content, keep it coming!
