Looking forwards to the episode where you investigate the theft of a KTM, the finding of its true identity and the magic reunion with the rightful owner. That will be an epic video.
@@leuvenlife and Rory being out 2 grand
@@mazdarx-8rotary.97 he knew it was dodgy. He even commented that the chassis number had been tampered with and that it wasn’t the model it claimed to be. He knew all that, but bought it. He deserves to lose two grand. He doesn’t learn or listen. We have a name for people that repeatedly do foolish things..
Stolen bike boys, you can't do nothing with it.
I agree mate I own a ktm rc125 and id sob if it was nicked@@leuvenlife
Gareth - That needs torquing
Rory - It is!
Gareth - To what?
Rory - Erm, 3 ugga duggas?
🤣🤣🤣
I cracked up at that to be honest 😂😂 the amount of times 3 ugga duggas has been the correct garage measurement, is hilarious 🤣😇
This made me chuckle to the point I had to pause the video 😂😂
Made me LOL at work, thankfully lunchtime 😁😁
Oh Rory, what have you done. That bike IS the later model. The frames are different and it isn't possible to fit the later parts to the older bike. I work with bikes and have experience with both of these models. You have a cloned stolen motorcycle. Best you can do is involve the police and try not to get so excited every time you see something for sale..
I hope they do the right thing and involve the police, it'd be very disappointing to see them ignore it.
This comment was read by Alex on the latest podcast…they will do the right thing.
Love that Gareth works all week so that he can spend his spare time doing more work with his friends…. Dudes the perfect bro
The frame number has to be fake because the 2014 duke didn't have a separate rear subframe, meaning that the mainframe isn't the one it identifies as... I suggest some more investigation is required.
Stolen bike with a doctored vin. Pretty embarrassing for a channel like this.
@@aniynagreed and the fact they haven't addressed the elephant in the room is pretty bit bad, as they would've seen the hundreds of comments mentioning its dodgey, also it's pretty rich considering their sponsor cv is literally made to help avoid buying dodgey motors.
It’d be a massive shame if they didn’t address it, especially after the rightful emotion when Taylor’s trailer got stolen
@@ratgreenyou can dry your eyes now because they addressed it on the podcast
@@ratgreenthey have got the police involved luckily now
Love seeing Gareth coming back. Been enjoying his company since car throttle.
Why? He's a muppet that almost blinded himself working on a stolen bike with a VIN scrubbed off, none of them should be working on bikes as proven in this clip the only guy I would even let near a bike with a spa ner is taylor and he doesn't care about them, they are gonna kill themselves
@@fzr600daveThen don’t watch the channel if that is such a concern to you.
@@fzr600dave This is how you learn, by researching, trying and figuring out.
May need to chalk this one up to Rory's 90k lost money tab - that seems like a total ringer I fear...
Definitely a ringer. They’ve used the categorised bikes vin and plate on a stolen 2020 bike. That frame isn’t off 2012
Thinking the exact same thing
Its why the chain didn't fit, its for the 2014 not 2020 model 😂
Bit annoying they bought it, I’m sure they’d be whining if theirs got nicked.
I'd be absolutely thrilled if they could somehow find out who it belonged to and give it back
How would they get the cat d vin onto the 2020 frame?
It’s nice to see Rory getting the opportunity to lead an episode 😀
No it’s not, he’s insufferable
It’s really not

Gareth… another legend.. bring him into the auto Alex team 😊😊
Run a car vertical check, find out your bike is written off, and buy it anyway.
And have sketchy papers
Its stolen too
Nothing wrong with buying a write off as long as it's been repaired properly. This highlights an issue with the process though, if that frame is off another bike but with the 2012 VIN (as others have suggested) a HPI/Carvertical check isn't going to highlight any issue with theft
@@Taylorjay99 love it nonethelesss
@@Taylorjay99 Most of us won't be able to tell if its been repaired properly though
Great to see Gareth on the channel. Missed the might South African
The bikes a ringer it’s not a 2012 plate just a stolen 2020 bike on a 2012 vin and reg
Agreed.
Also agreed. Little things like the headlight not working makes me believe it even more.
Totally agree. I am a bike dealer and also have had both 2012 and 2019 dukes and I know that the frames are different, the latter having a separate rear subframe, It isn't possible to be the 2012 frame with the rest fitting as even the front half of the frames are different. 100% guaranteed this is just another example of Rory wasting more money through his desire to have everything he sees.
@@leuvenlife Mummy and Daddy's money....
@@leuvenlife When you're a spoilt child with rich parents, that comes with the territory. Having said that, I take no joy in the fact he's bought a ringer. He's lost out, and so has the person who had their bike stolen in the first place. Makes me wonder if this Martin chap knew about it....
Whats the car vertical say on the bike? Its the vehicle that most needs it!
They checked it in one of last episodes I think
It's in a video on the main channel. It's a Cat D.

Guys, if the pistons are stuck just use the master cylinder to pop the the pistons out don't use compressed air
Knowledge ❤
The piston that isnt stuck pops out , the other sits and says ``lets see you shift me now then mate ``
Almost lost my fingers redoing the brakes on my E32, it has one massive cylinder in the fronts. Was trying to get the rusted cylinder out with compressed air and just as i changed my grip on the caliper it shot out and i became deaf for a few seconds from the noise. I was so mad at myself i threw the caliper into the woods and ordered new ones.
@godzillas6301 it's more the fact that using compressed air to push pistons out can lead to as shown brake fluid going in their eyes, to pistons flying out at high speeds
FFS. I've been working on my own bikes for 20 years and this has never occurred to me. Always used air. Cheers dude
I'm surprised you guys haven't looked a bit deeper into the bikes history. Surely you were dubious the frame fits perfectly with a 2020 model. The 2012 is different in so many ways. Possibly someones pride and joy you have.
If it has been stolen at least it’ll get returned to the owner running and driving.
13:18 that chipmunk face in helmet xD
Can we call this KTM “Hammond”?
History of crashes.
That's kinda messed up lol
@@Chronostra I wouldn't think so, Hammond made a career from it and even though don't think he wants to deliberately crash stuff, he doesn't mind it.
as a bike vet - i love seeing new riders ( or back to CBT riders) and their excitement. i still remember doing my test for the A1 and opening the throttle and the child like giggle when i was like this is what its liek to be on a NASA rocket :D
The learner burner I bought was a honda cbr125r. It was 1500 Australian so about 6 pounds UK. But that $1500 AUD the thing had 12 months rego. It had 21k kms on it and was filthy, but the only other thing the seller said was the fuel guage didn't work. Well a wash and the thing looks mint, fuel guage was an easy fix, it had no fuel in it. new oil, spark plug and tyres and its good. Did put a Yoshimura stainless exhaust on it as it was scary quiet to ride in traffic, now its irritating enough to others to not blindly change lanes. It has nothing under 8k rpm, but theres room as it revs to a tad over 11k. Its still slow, but its only 130kgs with a full tank so weighs next to nothing.
lads someone owns that bike that frame does not come on a 12 plate a 12 plate frame is a single unit that frame you guys got has a bolt on back subframe so not possible that frame is a 12 plate lol
could be a private plate ? thats the only thing i can think of .
other than that its 100% not the bike the logbook says its just got a stamped/vin plate on a nicked bike , dead giveaway is if its a plate vin like the old days if its stamped properly itll be harder to notice
In the video when they bought it they said that the vin number was filed off so it’s clearly been stolen at some point and replated as a 2012 plate
@@Honestlycryabtit bike has no value at all unless its broken for parts
I'm with Garth, it is very satisfying squashing the rivet in with the chain tool.
Not gonna lie Rory… you got yourself a ringer my boy a 12 plate is a big stretch for that model
Looks as if it’s been rung to a older model that was bought crash damaged
Nobody sober would have ever bought this absolute hound.
I feel this pain, just last year bought my first bike ever, cheap mutt mongrel 125, drove about 300 miles, after exhaust bracket broke I've decided to strip whole bike to fix rust spots and get at least basic know-how in how bikes are built and now I'm stuck with my bike in 8 different bags and frame in a bedroom :D
Next episode: They all get arrested when they try to MOT the bike because its stolen and they all go to jail....only Taylor is happy about being in jail 😏
Yes Gareth nice to see u again!
Put the baffle back in fgs. A 125 single is never going to sound good.
Fgs? get a life mate hahahahahahahahaha
it sounds like an old farm bike or something
I wish someone would tell that to the person who rides one with seemingly no exhaust past my house every morning at 6AM.

We need more of Gareth! The man's a legend
Not to alert anybody but this is possibly a VIN swapped bike. That frame is not from 2012. I have a 2012. It has no detachable rear subframe. The frames different. The engine is different. The front folks are different. 2012 does not have ABS does not have an LCD screen everything about that rear sub-frame could be putting afterwards as a something I do plan to do to my own but that frame is not from 2012
Nice one Rory! And good job Gareth. Nice to have Rory back on 2 wheels again.
Did Rory had a bike previously?
@@_skrzypo Used to have a 125 apparently.

Banger - Gareths back!
Nice to see a bike on the channel! May be some more? I’m into both bikes and cars 🤙🏼
I think it would be amazing to find the right owner of the bike and give it back to him, the worst part is you sponsored by a company that prevents you from buying a stolen vehicle and you still go and buy one lol 😂 find the rightful owner and get he’s old pride and joy back to him.
You don’t want to take motorcycles for granted even a 125, I used to road race but I was hit off my road bike by a learner car driver, spent 4 months in icu with fractured spine and broken tendons that control my right arm! But all that aside, great videos, keep up the good work

I love Gareth he is a proper good bloke.
What a great episode ! Well done yall
Great vod Roraaay! That’s a great looking and now, sounding bike. Wouldn’t mind one myself (if I knew how to ride one 🙁)
Spectacular! More bike content please🥲
Good to see Gareth again & good to see that KTM going. Yes it needs a new livery with a hamster sticker somewhere!
So when is Taylor getting a motorbike? The 4 of you could do the Isle of Man trip. Also, might be a good episode to go to Jurby to the airfield there & race cars!
Always a good day when there's some moto content on here. Looks to me like Alex and Gareth need to both get 125s too, then do a trio roadtrip somewhere, backroads all the way, with camping at the end 👀
Great to see some bike content 👍
It's videos like this that make me regret not learning how to ride a bike, this looks like a lot of fun

That frame is not the age that it said..... it is a different vin on a stolen bike
I use to work for a bike motorcycle dealer and we had a phrase for KTMs and it was “Keep Taking Money” as we had to order parts for them quite frequently

It's most likely running lean after switching the exhaust over. You might want to tweak the fuelling. You'll be able to tell if the EGTs are very high. Or you could take it to Big CC Racing in Wokingham and put it on the dyno, for a laugh. Would be an entertaining video.
Nice to see Gareth back on channel.
Happy to meet up for a ride out anytime you like guys!
Great to have Gareth back
You have to do a top gear style series where they race different modes of transport. Rory on the bike. Taylor and Alex in the mini.
Aww look at his little squishy face in the helmet 😂
This brings back memories of my KTM Duke 125 that I had from new in 2015! I had it for 3 weeks and put about 200 miles on it before it got stolen 😢
Been missing Gareth, great to see him back
Sooo, was it stolen? What about vin number?
(very likely) Stolen 2020 model with the original VIN removed, a written off 2012 bike's vin and plate attached to it now. Plate makes no sense for the model year of this bike.
More bike stuff that was awesome 🎉
Just as well you purchased it from a bona-fide, purveyor of fine motor vehicles to the (as we all know, none too dodgy) upper classes. And, yes, I have at least one mate that falls into this category.
CBT then test! Have fun!
Putting a fart can on a hairdryer is not cool. Give it 3 weeks before it's full of expanding foam from a pissed off neighbour
Nice to see Gareth again 👍

I'd love to see more motorcycle content!
7:38 for all future Autoalex videos.. can we compare pressure/tightness to the Rory Ugg a Dugga scale please 😊😄
It's nicked. If you've ever had a bike stolen that you've struggled to buy and run, you might not find these episodes quite as funny.
This bike has been stolen and had its logbook swapped with a bike that was written off, and likely broken for parts/scraped. I'd honestly take off all the parts you put on the bike, put it back to how it was when you bought it, and report it to the police. It's too much of a liability given your public profile. If you were any Joe soap, you could probably get away with it (if the ethical side of riding a stolen bike didn't bother you) but given you're a public figure, it'd take one person who didn't like you to make a report to the police and watch it escalate. It isn't worth that shit. Get rid of it asap.
And you know that how?
@@jamesmaybrick2001 It's not possible for a 2012 to have that rear subframe. They were one piece until like 2017, this is a later bike that was stolen and then replated with a written off 2012. The cats out of the bag, loads of people who know their stuff have commented here saying the same thing.
And I just went back and watched the video where they picked it up, Rory even picked up on the fact it was dodgy. The VIN was gone.
"I think this was stolen" but he bought it anyway. Gobshite.
Looking at the history of it according to motorscan it hasn’t had an MOT since 2022 but it was road taxed until February of this year and according to the MOT it should only have 2146 miles on it. Also if this was a 2012 bike it would’ve needed an mot in 2015 and in 2021 when it had its first MOT it only had 401 miles on it.
@@luissera1296 I'm going to guess the original bike was written off sometime before it needed an MOT. And it sat for a number of years in someone's shed. Was then sold to someone, and that someone stole the bike we see here, and then broke the original 2012 bike for parts.
I think that's possible explanation of what happened.
"Don't wanna be to yobish" Rory mate wait till you ride with us blackwidow exhaust 125 guys 😂😂
So is it stolen, written off or what? It’s a 2020 with a 2012 number plate 🤷♂️
It’s a 2012 frame with 2020 bits on it. Sounds to me that a bike was stolen and stripped and the thieves fitted the parts on a cheap frame.
@@luissera1296It's definitely stolen with a fake VIN. 2012 small KTMs have a single piece frame. They changed to a separate subframe in 2017 when Gen 2s were released. The entire frame geometry is different. You can't just swap parts over from one to the other. The engine, yes, but nothing else will fit. That thing is definitely nicked
Alright, Rory is going to need to do some sitting on bike shopping to become initiated. Que the road trip!!!!
Is there really numbers on the frame / chassis?? 🤔🤔 I remember you saying they was scratched off
ive had same ktm 2018 plate and it was horrible bought new and had problems straight away kept on cutting out randomly when setting of, lcd screen kept on turning of while riding and it used a lot of oil
Only thing missing was editing in some Jeremy Clarkson hating on Motorbiking from that iconic Top Gear roadtrip
Cheers to Gareth listening to Rory winge endlessly...lol

125cc is still mighty fine and fun, don't let anyone says otherwise. I owned several bikes on 90-150cc range, and the least I ride is my 2013 Yamaha Xeon RC scooter which still clocked at 84k KM as of today.
