This video is dedicated to William Lane Craig.
Jeff Buckley and his band, performing the title track from the album, Grace, live on The Late Show (BBC).
Recorded on 17 January 1995, in London, England.
Host: Tracey MacLeod
Special thanks to TREON for his patience and perseverance, which made it possible to enhance this amazing performance, both audio-wise and visually. He used Topaz Video AI to upscale the footage and combined that with the soundboard recording from the Grace Around the World CD, which resulted in greater volume and sound clarity.

His debates with Christopher Hitchens are worth checking out!
Why to him? haha
@@LittleUST most notable
@@LittleUST Because he’s a legend (with a hard G).
@@MojoPin1983 he's the end of a leg?
There are VERY few musicians who can be called timeless, but Jeff is indisputably one of them. He only scratched the surface of what he he was capable of; he had so much more to give us. He is truly missed.
I dno there are quite a few
Indeed
Yes incredible musician & very sadly missed.
This is an authentic testimony of what an imortal soul is and what immortality is all about. That strength that is released from his voice is more than sound and vibration, it is from the mysterious meanders of the soul.
Couldn’t agree more…. He is timeless and we never saw or heard the best of him as he was only just getting started….so sad!!
Seeing him flip the bird after she compared him to his father is 😂😂😂
The way she says "critically fated" sounds fucking ominous too. Her word choice is interesting
This is about my 50th time watching this, never bothered to notice that.
@@WestwoodC21 *Feted*
Lmao the way he pumps his arms
Hahahaa I've watched this about 30 times and had never noticed hahah good spot
watching the cameraman fall in love with him is hilarious
Like we all did - completely relatable. ❤
So many angles 😂
bass goes insanely hard in this version
Miss it on the album version ever since… especially the development at 04:31 💀
A bass is a fish
@@WiseRiley so what youre saying is that "tHe BaSs iS sOOoOO unDErRatED"
Love the bass…
they basically muted the lead guitar, thank you for helping me see the silver lining
This is hands down the single greatest vocal performance I have ever heard in my life. I'm blown away.
@SURGASURGE12 His Live at Sin-e version of The Way Young Lovers Do is arguably better; not to mention his Glastonbury version of Mojo Pin.
You should check out Dream Brother at Live in Chicago. The acoustics in that auditorium are smooth. Brings forward his vocals.
@@MojoPin1983 ya mojo pin and dream brother from glastonbury 95 are closer to an interdimension rift opening than a vocal performance. Unreal.
Yes but was it also 'underrated 'humble' and 'on point'? And what about that 'narrative'?
I agree completely
the quality is better than my eyesight wow
@aslovsoy750 It looks even better on my computer. Unfortunately, CZcams compresses every upload, thereby reducing the quality. This is still quite good, though, all things considered.
@MojoPin1983 it really is, considering the age!!
Listening to this with good earphones is FANTASTIC. The ending is simply heart-stopping, this must be one of the most amazing musical performances ever captured in a TV studio.
It's on Spotify as well
Yeah, spot on. I don't have the vocabulary for what he's doing vocally, but when he pulls out of the loud intense bit into the final heavenly trill, it's just perfection.
0:14 jeff in the background help 😭
5:18
Perhaps one of the greatest moments in 90s live music. That moment when he opened his eyes he knew he nailed it.
Nobody will ever top this
@ILoveLinkinPark23 I diff to begger.

That voice is unreal. Wow.
I can only imagine what he would have blessed everyone musicly with had lived. Brilliant musician song writer and seemed like just a normal guy though blessed with a very special gift.
He Was/Is a Normal Guy With an Incredible Talent Who Happens To Have a Little Something Extra!!
The suspended silence after that last note pure bliss
Loving the sarcastic hands in the air in relation to his dad being mentioned
Middle fingers to the heavens if you look carefully 🤣
This just cured my migraine. I love hearing songs live first before hearing the studio version 😌
The vocals gave me a migraine. Funny how that works.
Perfect vocals. Dude was a beast
this performance is incredible, wow. i’ve always loved this song, and this performance in particular is just amazing. the sound is so crisp you can hear everyone. the entire performance is so good, but man Jeff’s singing towards the end is beautiful.
Man I have been obsessed with this performance for years - shit is straight existential
Incredible performance by the entire band. Bassist was really stretching out without overplaying and drummer was on top of the record. And ya know Jeff is Jeff. You are missed by many but thankful for the music you were able to create. It has gotten me through many things in life and will continue to do so. RIP
5:35 - 5:45 ... 10 seconds of an immaculate expressiveness
anger-sadness-grief and relief...
I hope he is never, ever forgotten for his poetry, love, amazing musical performances and inventiveness regarding music. Such a genuine and soulful writer/musician/singer is nearly impossible to come across. We all love you forever, beautiful Buckley. No one does it like you.
He was not human. God bless.
@carlosmauricio6493 He was. God bless you, too.
i think my face just melted
The guy I like just sent this song to me 😊
The epitome of being passionated about what you do
OMG Mick Grondahl has always made big impression on me, and 30 years later, he still does! HE should be accounted has 1 of the greatest bass player!
Matt Johnson in this is perfect. This band is perfect. tbey must miss the fuck out of this performance.
Thank you for re-uploading this masterpiece of a performance.
@Gonecommando99 You’re welcome.
@@MojoPin1983 Thankyou, best uploading on par with the german one in sound quality. Thankyou very much x
Jeff had the voice of a seraph, utterly sublime. If he were here today, he would unequivocally hold the station of God amongst musicians.
who pays you ppl to muck up the comment sections of videos with maudlin garbage like this
ive been addicted to jeff since i first heard him during COVID. his vocals, songcraft, so effortless yet so meaningful. As is obvious, such a shame he was taken far too soon. But the irony with the ones that burn too bright, is that they always leave you wanting. Atleast we were lucky enough for good master recordings. Both the BBC and some german recordings are of exceptional quality and really bring alive the abulm in a new light. A gift that definitely keeps on giving. RIP Jeff, you are missed, but you made a mark. Legend.
There's the moon asking to stay
Long enough for the clouds to fly me away
Oh, it's my time coming,
I'm not afraid
Afraid to die
My fading voice sings of love,
But she cries to the clicking of time.
Of time
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
The fire.
And she weeps on my arm
Walking to the bright lights in sorrow
Oh drink a bit of wine
We both might go tomorrow
Oh my love
And the rain is falling,
I believe my time has come
It reminds me of the pain
I might leave
Leave behind
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
The fire.
It reminds me of the pain
I might leave
Leave behind
And I feel them drown my name
So easy to know and forget with this kiss
I'm not afraid to go but it goes so slow
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire
Bloody hell Jeff. He’s unique, the most emotive singer. He gets totally immersed in his music and just goes for it. He is incomparable lady 🙇🏻♀️👌🏻
"... he shares the vocal elasticity...."
... and Jeff in the background giving her the double finger hahaha 0:14
@BerndThomasSchuller He was seeing which way the wind was blowing in the studio.
@@MojoPin1983 🤣
Yeah I saw that. So funny 🤣
Did NOT even notice that. Thanks for pointing that out,
Giving HIM.
Chills every time I hear it, what a great live performance. Jeff was a fantastic artist!
got give some love to the drummer on this one too...his playing style is as delicate as Jeff's vocals...not too little, not too much but absolute perfect for what the song required...and played so gentle...just an amazing band
@jdgonzo Matt Johnson and the rest of the band complemented Jeff very well.
hands down top three greatest live performances by a male singer that I have ever seen I get chills every single time
I will never stop recommending him to people, he’s my favorite singer ever
This is an authentic testimony of what an imortal soul is and what immortality is all about. That strength that is released from his voice is more than sound and vibration, it is from the mysterious meanders of the soul.
He’s beautiful 😍
He did NOT have to be this SEXY but also SO GOOD
Simply staggering vocals and stunning playing. One of the finest performances in music history
His high note towards the end echoes the vocals in Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd. A magical creative soul from the stars - miss him terribly and wish I had been able to appreciate him perform live x
@cosmicmoonmaiden I’ve always thought the exact same thing; the same goes for the crescendo in So Real.
La music de cette période étais vraiment incroyable. Que de bon souvenir de ma jeunesse. Rip bro :'(
his voice was just incredible.
Art is no game
What a Huge Song! Great Composer, Immense Vocalist! At 5mn21s, the "greatest craziest vocal note ever"!!! Thanks, Mr Buckley! Wherever you are! We are listening to your Masterpieces!
Only he could rock that fucking v neck
what a masterpiece. Beautiful in all senses.
This version !!!Unreal
Wow.
Still!
F me grew up listening to his father but by god this boy has some pipes... what a massive loss both of them were 😥
Masterpiece in every aspect. Musically, vocally, artisticlly.
ICON!
I should have mentioned....the other musicians in his band were excellent!
So underrated, what a brilliant singer and musician
Always remembered Jeff
A song/performance has never made me cry before until now...
I am honestly blown away.
Such a shame he died so young, world robbed of a truly generational talent
I love till infinity my love ❤️✨ Jeff Buckley, such a beautiful & unique voice
Playing like the clappers and a voice that doubles as another instrument. Truly missed.
Beautiful
Just sublime saw him at the Borderline 94 and again at Garage Islington still get shivers RIP young Jeff 🙏🙏
I saw him at the Borderline too. James Dean Bradfield was at the bar.
I love this performance
Amazing performance
I WISH I’d seen him play live! Love him!
Fantastic
this is insane omgomg
What do I see with my very own eyes?!
It's back! ❤🎉
Thanks S

Just got this on vinyl today!
Good god, what a talent.
@Beneluxer A God-given talent.
This is the definitive version, including the double birds he flips when his dad is mentioned
Beautiful in every possible way. Sublime.
Breathtaking! Nearly shook me out of bed.
So legendary i remember when i first heard this song, it was this live version video that i stumbled upon like 6 years ago, it was like a checkpoint moment in my life
Holy Shit. That was breathtaking
Thank youuuu
OM G what a performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5:20 That extended high note is something not of this world. What the fuck?
And the growl at the end of it…
incredible live performance ♡
Just wow
Absolutely perfection in my opinion.

i need him so bad
YES!! thank you a million for this!!

@@MojoPin1983 oh man... i would be happy to give you! Sign that i had way more in my bank
"I feel them drown my name"
Eerie how he seemed to predict his own death. Imagine what could have been had he lived...easily one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
That guitar distortion is huge.
His beauty 🌹
Such a unique talent…
Thank you for posting ! ( amazing video )
Goosebumps
