I think Jeff responded in the correct way to questions, I don't know if they are superficial but very average for most journalists, but I think the most interesting thing about this is seeing him answer something like that. He was adorably beautiful and sincere; All artists and (even more so today) know that art is more business than any other passion, dedication, inspiration and beauty (no one says that earning money is wrong, the question is what money reveals about you; sometimes it only maximizes the defects that were less relevant by not having power (other times what it exerts is that it empowers to help and grow ethically-altruistically but power, as in everything, has a vision according to what dominates the heart of a human being). This man has always seemed magical and super interesting to me because he was actually convinced that his goal was nothing more than art; Maybe that's why it weighed on him - he was so crazy about fame/money, he didn't feel it as a well-being for himself and much less for his art, I have a magazine where he says that you are his "cross" (that happens when your sensitivity is pure and thus it will seem excessive to you), so you will not be very tolerant of hypocrisies or manipulations of any kind that the environment puts pressure on you. And although we all have teachers or colleagues that we admire in art, it is still questioning and therefore disappointing that artists no longer have that deep conviction in the style of Michelangelo, Goya, Van Gogh, etc. that art is a non-existent medium. not only of expression but of transformation of individuals and culture. And Buckley along with a very few others are those who still believed art served to evoke beauty and freedom, which is why I think Jeff was so disruptive. I recently went to an under-recognized art gallery in a city highly sought after by art. art and in most of it I found the same thing that I saw years ago only rudeness, the grotesque, the purposeless stain and almost nothing captivating except for a Swedish-German artist that I met at an exhibition that impacted me with his workmanship, depth, dreamlike atmospheres, lyricism and conceptuality supported by technique, personally I found it brutally poetic and it will surely take many years for its message to be understood because it precisely evokes everything that is not in force. Jack Keruoac has a phrase that identifies and fascinates me (it defines beautiful personalities like Jeff a little) "The only people that interest me are those who are crazy, people who are crazy to live, crazy to talk, crazy to save themselves, wanting everything at the same time, people who never yawn or talk about commonplaces, but rather It burns, it burns like fabulous yellow rockets exploding like spiders among the stars.
