Jeff Buckley and his band performing the title track from the album, Grace, on the French television program, Nulle Part Ailleurs. Filmed in Paris, France, on 19 January 1995.
Thanks to Pascal (a former employee of NPA), for digitizing this footage, directly from the master tape, and supplying me with this copy.
This video is dedicated to my sister, who turned 15 when this performance originally aired, on this day, 27 years ago. I love you. God bless you.

Is the footage you posted about late last year, that you were trying to acquire? I thought you'd said that footage was previously unseen, but it sounds like this has been posted before, just in lower quality.
@@dj51c488 No. I am still waiting for the videographer to send me that footage, which was suppose to happen a few months ago. I’ve reached out to him a few other times since, and he promises that he will send it out, but he continually fails to deliver. I’m getting incredibly impatient with his inability to perform such a simple, mundane task as going to a post office, filling out the necessary paper work, and sending me his footage; it’s inexcusable.

@@beffjuckley He had a cold this night and had very bad jet lag, so yeah it was an off night but he performed to his limit

Did Jeff Buckley ever even have an "off night" performance? (The third time I saw him in person back in May 1995, he was fighting a bad head cold, and he still delivered an elegiac concert for those of us fortunate enough to be in attendance that night.)

I've listened to a lot of rock music and for my money that final sustained vocal note is a contender for the best ever recorded
@mostlytranslucent He sings that part even more powerfully in the BBC Late Show version, along with hitting the crescendo more cleanly. In this version, he is a bit flat at the apex.
You can hear that his voice is tired and almost on the brink of collapsing, but he still went through with the soaring screams in the end, and generally got through all the tough vocal parts this song holds.
@jonathangroholdt I believe that Jeff had a cold, at the time, hence the congested tone of his voice during the verses. Personally, I like the quality that his sickness lends his voice. It reminds me of the story behind Kim Carnes raspy voice in Bette Davis Eyes.

You should really upload your collection to the internet archive. I download everyone of your uploads, but even the highest quality from CZcams is compressed from the original file. Those are history, and should be preserved
@Lázaro Villela Yeah, unfortunately, CZcams compresses everything, but it is the biggest media platform in the world, therefore, it will garner the most views and exposure with regard to Jeff's musical genius. The audio-visual quality of the raw video file in question is so much better than what people are able to perceive, here. I've thought about the prospect of documenting everything in an archive that has no compression.

@@MojoPin1983 the nin live archive did that sort of thing for the last 11 years, sooooo good but their host cut them off last November - very sad - I hope they find a solution soon. There is a torrent for all their files though which is cool if you have the time and space. I’m also a big fan of the smashing pumpkins archive on the internet archive, although that is mostly just audio. Would be delighted to see an archive similar to either of those from you off CZcams one day if you can! Would be such an invaluable resource for us all now and for people yet to come, especially somewhere like the internet archive where it will truly be preserved forever. A massive undertaking for you though I’m sure. Either way best of luck and thank you for your channel! It is well loved :)
