when the thumbnail is Ian holding a gun and grinning like a madman you know the video is gonna be good
truth
Yup!!! Best thumbnail for FW ever!
someone link their .gif 🤣
nah you probably won't be able to post links but I think someone would make one for memes
Looks the meth heads in Philly
That's very true.
Ian's face in the thumbnail is basically pure unbridled joy.
I can only imagine the memes. Uvalde anyone?

"Deploying smug face"
@@ANSELAbitsxb Dude. No.
its the face of a man thatll throw 50 metal rocks at you in like 2 seconds max
Ian: *explains why drum mags are impractical and clunky*
Also Ian: *insert thumbnail here*
The duality of man
I mean, they are impractical and clunky. They’re also fun. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive. I don’t think he ever said they weren’t fun.
@@610Blackhawk yep they are fun you just wouldn't want to have to rely on one.
yeah they arent ideal for war, for the range, their perfect!
Drums mags are practically when pre-loaded
P.S.: his drum mag was pre-loaded. It checks out
he's only doing a drum mag dump because he's not the one that had to load it heheh
Imagine a integrally suppressed scorpion. That would be siiick!
I have an IASC-9 integral suppressor on my semi auto with a binary. Its pretty freaking amazing.
If they could get it to cycle reliably on full auto with subsonic 9mm while also integrally suppressed that would be sick for sure. It would sound like a paintball gun.
"Pftftftftftft"
Delicious 🤤👌
Yes it would!
If they had a factory variant of the Scorpion like that, then this could really give the MP5 a serious run for its money in uniform service.
Wow, the 50 round mag went fast. [But really kept on target]
What a cracking gun, looks very purposeful & also comfortable to shoot. Was trying to think what it reminded me of & a Heckler & Koch G36 C that someones updated & turned into a sub is the closest I can think of. Can see why its been snapped up by a fair few countries.
Huge thanks to Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod for letting you film & play with it. Knew it was going to be a fun one when I saw the manic grin on the thumbnail.
2.8 seconds
Surprised me for a Direct blowback.
They’re comfortable to shoot until you reach the pistol grip, which is fortunately really cheap to replace and has several great aftermarket options to choose from. The stock grip is mostly smooth on the faces of it, so your hand tends to slide up and into the receiver as you shoot. From the looks of this video, they haven’t changed the grip at all since they started making civilian market scorpions.
everything in this video is badass. from the howling wind in the background to the nose vapor after that full auto mag dump.
Furthermore the nose vapor proves that he's not a Thing. Unlike Childs.
I don't think I've ever seen 50 rounds dumped in 2.5 seconds before... 😁
I was thinking, that felt more like 30 rounds or so, based on the time and RoF. But I can’t count fast enough. If that was the full 50 I’ll be darned! 🤯
Mag dump followed by silly grin...the content we come here for
Ian may love the VZ. 61, but it looks like we have a new winner for his favorite Scorpion.
Oh yeah. The OG Scorpion is a Cold War icon, but the Evo line of sub guns are just better all around.
@@Anino_Makata Well, they are 50 years apart...
@@CZProtton True, true...
All they share is part of the name. And the use dictates what is better.
Try to wear that Evo 3 in your inner jacket pocket. You can appendix carry the small scorpions.
If it wasn't that expensive, only printing a better stock and still building the original as a limited run would sell very well.
Always blaming us for his need to do a mag dump. He's like the husband who says well my wife expected me to go into middle age crisis and buy a corvette, that's the only reason I bought this corvette, to make her happy.
My friends and I were cosplaying at a medieval fair once, when a Polish sounding guy walked up to us and told us his wife wanted to take a photo. Well, apparently "she wanted" to take a photo of him, his friends and us posing.
Corvette? You know they make good cars now right? 😆
@@captainthruster9484 listen, I'm a Ford guy but what are you talking about, you poor?
@@captainthruster9484 Spoken like someone who's only seen the taillights of a Corvette

I have huge respect for Ian's level of self control. He completely avoided turning into a giggling cartoon as I suspect many of us would in the same situation. Well...outwardly at least.
Nothing wrong with giggling here!
There's a reason it's affectionately known as "the giggle switch"...
9mm going BRRRRT is still a valid concept, especially a sweet design like the Skorpion.
I would have to agree with you, and in quite a few situations too
Yea, a lot of people get so far up on their high horses about 9mm being weak and "I don't rely on such a small round to defend myself", but at the end of the day, you pop a half dozen 9's in a body and that tends to change the situation quite a bit in your favor....
@@Astraeus.. well myself being from the UK I won't pretend to know a great deal on the topic but put it this way,,, when it comes to defending my own one and only life which I see as being such an incredible gift be it from a natural coincidence or the work of a creator, and also the lives of the people I love the most in the world i.e my family, I would take a single shot.22 pistol over the nothing I have now!
Do you know that here in the UK there is a law that states that it's an offence to keep any conceivable kind of weapon on hand even in your own home for the purpose of defending yourself from a would be intruder no matter how serious his intentions are!
It's an absolute abomination of a law and one I wouldn't consider at all if my family or myself find ourselves at risk of harm or death!
It's hard to argue with a gun so controllable and such fast cyclic rate
The fact that we can't own a CZ Evo 3 or the Beretta CX4 Storm in full auto is an absolute crime.
Damn, 50 rounds in 2.5 seconds? It looks a lot nicer with that mini-drum, too.
If it has drum attachmebt in games then use it
God, that is a high rate of fire! With a rate of fire that high, doesn't it make full auto a little impractical? What does everyone else think?
@@lisbon1492 good for real world shooting, where you might only have a half-second exposure of a running target. Put more rounds downrange while the target is briefly visible and out of cover, increase your hit probability.
@@lisbon1492 It's an Anti Aircraft SMG, clearly. :V
@@lisbon1492 Rate of fire is perfectly fine if you're not intending to empty a mag into every tango you spot, unless you're fighting through an Operation Nimrod scenario. The three-round burst mechanism or ample trigger discipline would be more practical, but having the option of full auto in the line of duty could be a valuable asset.
Like I mentioned earlier, if you're in a Nimrod scenario and you have to be *generous* with your ammo.
I love how futuristic it looks
meh, it is 2022 it is around for a while... it looks "nowistic" ...we are still not that far away from frontloaded smoothbore handcannons fired with a wick.... where is my pulse rifle and caseless weaponry and gauss rifle? terminators are coming faster than ever nowadays....
I guess there's a teason Treyarch put the gun in CoD: Black Ops 2
Caseless weaponry isn't futuristic, the U.S. tried it out in the 80s iirc there was a caseless accepting AUG and caseless accepting AR15 variant submitted for the trials
@@alijankhan3330 yes, the germans almost adopted the g11 in early 90s but nothing widespread since than...3 decades and still only trial runs....
@@radeksparowski7174 Gauss Rifles are being made now but they are in their early stages, I believe there was a gun called the LSAT which had caseless ammunition, it was apparently pretty good, as good if not better than M249, there was also the G11 but it's case was unfortunate. Idk about Pulse Rifle
Ambidextrous controls = Check
HK Slap = Check. Oh, plus the bolt catch release.
Full-auto mag dump = Check. And with a 50-round Magpul drum magazine to boot. Pure awesomeness 😎👍
Without a doubt, this will give the HK MP5 and HK UMP SMGs a run of their money, or should I say, fortune.
This might sound blasphemous, but I think the MP5 is over hyped.
@@pewpew9193 And you'll be darn right. So long people wants MP5 all the more, the hype will go on regardless.
Question: What constitutes a High Capacity Magazine?
Ian's Answer: One that holds so much ammo that you can't pick it up with one hand.
these days a high cap mag is one that still has bullets but your finger is too tired to run the trigger anymore..
anything less is standard capacity
czcams.com/users/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f601.png
So a 500rd ammo box then? Nice.
@@shootymcshootfacekoff7972 Idk, depending on the bullet caliber 500 isn't that heavy. For 9mm that would only be a bit over 9 lbs. I think honestly the volume is more likely to get you than the weight when it comes to pistol caliber rounds at least
@@alexsis1778 okay so 1500 rounds then
Definitely love CZ guns. Some of the most comfortable guns I've ever shot. Great designers and engineers working for them!
I find the safety really annoying on the trigger finger side and the tiny sling connection points are rattly and just seem cheap. There has to be a better solution.
CZs are really great. From their .22LR Lux, semi auto pistol, to the Evo, quality all around.
I'm not saying the Evo is a bad gun, but I hate its guts. CZ in general is great though.
I was speaking more to their other firearms. I loved the P-07 Duty. And they have some nice rifles
Czechs are producing the coolest weapons ❤ Pokračujte v dobré práci 🙂
@@glandhound
It's not all a contest. If you want to compare something to the Evo 3A1, compare it to other polymer, blowback action submachine guns.
CZs are bad ass
I usually watch Ian's vids for the tech field strips, because I love engineering solutions, and then the shoot vids to see how they work in practice. This is the first time I have watched a shoot vid and felt that I wanted to own the gun... Guns appeal to me because they are mostly supreme examples of function defining form, but that Skorpion 03 is aesthetically attractive too!
Full auto CZ Skorpion makes me tingly in my bathing suit area... particularly with that MagPul D50 drum. I'd be grinning like a possum in the dumpster behind Longhorn steakhouse, too!
Bathing suit area... a fan of J.J. Bittenbinder, perchance?
He seems much happier with this mag dump than the one in "All the Blammo: HK51 at the Range".
It appeared, like other SMGs, that the muzzle was more controllable in long bursts. The constant recoil dynamic is alive & well.
That smile after emptying the drum mag says it all!
Nice HK-Sla... CZ-Slap i meant.
CZUB engineers while designing new smg - "...and give it an HK slap, this is a must be" - and everyone obeyed, because it was obviously the only solution.
its NOT HK
HK is on the LEFT
CZ is on the RIGHT
might as well say a democrat is a republican..
I actually giggled when Ian bring out that drum for the mag dump.
This looks like a mighty fun gun, the steel ringing every burst speaks magnitudes for this iteration of the scorpion.
Is it just me, or is there something really engaging about listening to an expert talk about his favourite subject? Here in the UK I will never see let alone own a gun, but I don't need to. Listening to Ian is like having a massive private collection!
No, it's not just you! Now try to imagine what it is like for me - as an American living in Germany 😭
Great reason not to live there.
@tvercetti1 Well, I didn't plan to stay but then something happened, and now I can't leave.

I really appreciate the downrange camera and sound perspective near the end, it adds a lot to understanding the full characteristics of the firearm from a video. Not to mention it also looks cool!
The sunlight on Ian's breath made it look like Ian had eaten a whole bag of Cheetos before coming out to the range.
Always good to see Ian getting his giggle on. 👍👍👍

Ian: grins like a madman and pulls out a drum mag
Me: oh lawd have mercy yus
Beautiful. Surprised how accurate Treyarch portrayed the Evo3 in Black Ops 2, even the fire rate.
These are the perfect firearm for smaller stature females like myself for home defense. No real need for a rifle caliber at home; the 9mm +P Buffalo Bore will be just fine. With a backup CZ Shadow II.
If you have neighbors you might want to look into penetration testing. Frangible 5.56 ammo(.223) might surprise you. If you look at what entry teams are using, they've in mass switched from sub guns to M4 variant carbines. I use raid teams as a example because they operate inside buildings (homes/businesses). Their the guys most likely to engage in fire. What they trust their lives to is telling.
@@charlessalmond7076
Too loud without a can. If that's not an issue, it makes sense to get a rifle round.
Why not .300 Blackout then? (Not a good idea to mix up though)
youre on the money as long as you can make good shots with it..
most thugs dont wear body armor while sneaking around breaking into houses at 3 am..
its easy to use and has essentially endless ammo
@@ripvanwinkle2002 wasn't worried about body armor, just overpenetration. The original comment referred to a +p 9mm jhp. Frangible 5.56/223 will stop in fewer walls, endangering less neighbors.
@@onpsxmember although ammo for .300 blackout is almost what I would call common 5.56 is everywhere. Larger selection with 5.56/223 as well. For me a can isn't a issue but, I'm running a 16" barrel. I'm not doing target practice inside, simply stopping any threat. To me its like this, raid teams go into high risk situations with a good probability of action. The majority of the ones I researched carry a 5.56/223 AR variant. If a local police department uses it its less likely to come up in court later. In addition its a extremely easy platform to learn. Ultimately the best home defense gun is the one your most comfortable and competent with.
Great video. I had been into guns for a long time, but the Evo 3 brought me down the rabbit hole of customization, silencers, etc. such an amazing gun. Ian’s grin shows the A1 to be even more magical.
Great video!!! I love your thoughtful deep dive studio videos, but seeing you having fun , grinning ear to ear, is a real treat!!!
Sweet weapon, seems like hardly any recoil. Look"s like a serious contender for the M.P. 5 H&K ...Damn that's a fast full auto!
MP5 hasn’t been relevant for 20 years
@@chosentwice1839 The MP5 is still relevant to this day with a lot of elite forces. It's a gun where you pay a lot extra for not much more than what the competition (and H&K themselves with the UMP) offers for a fraction of the price.... But in elite forces the name of the game is to have every advantage, almost no matter how small, you can get in every scenario because the sum stacks up to a tangible higher success rate.
But for a civilian wanting a PPC, you're right. There it only makes sense for people who think the term "having a budget" is synonymous with "poor people... probably upper middle class or worse!". Hell, even for high end security forces a UMP or Evo 3 is probably the most sane choice.
@@andersjjensen the elite forces dumped the MP5 a long time ago. It’s still used in a lot of police departments, but for military use it’s long been eclipsed
@@andersjjensen If they really want every advantage, why not standardise P90 or MP7, armour piercing is pretty neat
Omg, that drum dump was fantastic. It’s a swarm of murder hornets in a drum.
CZ did a great job putting the bore axis in alignment with the stock and the weight distribution makes it very controllable. They are nice!
Keep having that much fun, Ian. You deserve it!
Watch and listen to Ian at a range on Saturday morning, great stuff.
Nice gun Ian. Very cool.
Thank god the link to CZ included. I googled "tourist slaps sexy Czech in freezing outdoors" and let's just say I got distracted for an hour on a 'tube' that wasn't CZcams...
Anyhow, CZ missed an opportunity to brand one of their compact SMGs 'Little Caprice'
accurate and well done recount of the background and characteristics of the weapon...as always...the sheer enjoyment of Ian getting the chance to fire it though....a boy with a toy shows the love for it. makes me think of a video about full auto semi auto pistols.

Love the mad grin at the end!
I had the semi-auto for a while. Good gun, surprisingly accurate out to 100yds even with just iron sights. Ultimately though I sold it. It was just a bit too big for what I wanted it for (I think I was looking for something more in the size envelope of a PDW like the B&T TP9) and without select-fire I wasn’t sure what I’d ever actually use it for vs just grabbing an SBR AR. A pistol caliber weapon really suffers more for lack of full auto capability than does a rifle.
I'd love for a pdw sized scorpion in the US market, something around the TP9 size but with cz ergos. It's a shame the designs relegated to just a PCC over here
subguns dont replaces assault rifles, they replace shotguns and pistols..
@@agentdills what do you mean? they literally make a 3 inch barrel version
@@princeoinkins8408 while it's better yes, it still isn't at the level of the mp/tp9. Scorp 3 micro has a 3" barrel while coming out to a total length (without stock) of 14 inches. Tp9 has 5" barrel while coming in at a 11" total, mainly because the entire thing is designed around being less than a foot long. It's also a whole pound heavier than the tp
For a handy pcc that's awesome, but as a PDW for an itty bitty man like myself it just don't cut it sadly
@@agentdills another option for a pdw is the Glock 17/19 in a recover tactical 20/20 chassis with red dot mounts. About tp9 size with Glock accesories ecosystem.

That CZ Scorp + Ian's crazed smile=worth it!
The childlike grin at the end is better than the mag dump. That was a look of pure joy.
"Giggle Switches" are called that for a reason. "Fully Semi Auto" does tend to be more fun and expansive than non versions. Keeping that thing fed would not be cheap.
Better to know someone that has it to enjoy it than to actually own it. Eating ammo like Goku eats food isn't good for a savings account.
Would have loved to see what the handling was like on burst fire, but I'm imagining it was just like the full-auto controlled bursts. Either way, great vid
Yeah I’m surprised he didn’t try burst fire. I was curious if like on previous firearms if the three round ratchet mechanism would reset if you let go of the trigger early, or if it would continue until that “third” round was fired and then reset.
It appears to be on burst when he fires right-handed, around 3:50.
Dammit, I need a double-like button for this one. I’m amazed how Ian just does not get jaded, his enthusiasm is so genuine.

Love the smile at the end of shooting the drum
Mag. That’s one happy Ian. 😎
Has to be one of the best thumbnails on the Internet. Also a very interesting review. Thanks Ian.
I have to say, that frontal shot at 4:20 (hah) conveyed a very different level of audio - somehow that felt more harsh and 'loud' than the other recordings usually do, despite obviously still being limited by audio devices (recording and playback). Was that just from positioning equipment differently?
I noticed & was curious about that too
Could be even from a completely different camera (and thus microphone).
Since the audio equipment is part of the camera and so is also in front of the muzzle yes. If they were in a studio with real high quality mics then I'd say no, but with a field camera with a built in mic, even of high quality, it will be much louder recording in front of the muzzle than behind it. Same thing if you were there, a gun is always louder muzzle front than aft due to how sound behaves.
Probably sound from the supersonic 'crack' of the rounds caused that
I would assume the unmitigated bursts of explosions weren't that kind to the microphone than from behind the barrel.
For those disappointed at never being able to get the full auto Evo3, you can get halfway there with a binary trigger.
Actually, I hope Ian does cover binary triggers at some point. They are interesting devices from a legal and mechanical standpoint.
First rule of binary triggers is we don't talk about binary triggers. 😉
Second rule of binary triggers is forced reset is better
Binary Triggers are an amazing device that turns large amounts of money into smoke and noise extremely quickly.
He has commented on them before, stupid dead man switch or something like that. Yes you can "train" around the issue, but funny how that does not always work when shit goes sideways. FYI the binary trigger is nothing new, a lot a under over trap guns have them
If I’m reading this right, and I admit I could very well be wrong, a binary trigger, for lack of a better term, provides a two round burst mode? The pull of the trigger fires the first shot and the internal mechanism fires the second shot as the trigger moves back to the reset position?
Love it. The Scorpion is one of my favorites to shoot, I can shoot it all day and not get bored or tired with it. It's just fun, easy to use, for the most part sensibly designed and it runs like a train. This reminds me I need to clean mine. I've never had one failure with it and have fed it every type of 9mm I can find.
Ian's face after that mag dump... priceless
Hey Ian, I have a Daewoo dp51 that’s roughly of late 90’s make and I was wondering if that qualified as forgotten yet, it has an odd double action +/ triple action, that is pretty quirky, I also have a 760 gamemaster which is both quirky and historically significant as this model of rifle allegedly shot M.L.K. Jr., anyways, I know you said you don’t often use viewers guns for efficiency and non breaking them purposes, which I completely understand, but if your itchin to see a weird S.Korean pistol or a pump action .308 rifle, I’d be happy to send em out, I’m completely sure you and the forgotten weapons team treat every gun (minus those Zimbabwean poacher guns) with the utmost respect and care
Thanks for all the cool vids and the killer soul patch, keep up the good work!
I am a little disappointed that you didn't at least try out the 3 round burst. You are obviously capable of squeezing off two and three round bursts in full auto, but I'm thinking with a gun that controllable a 3 round burst might be considered a good step up from semi-auto rather than a step down from full auto.
3:50
@@MisterLindsay Hmm... you might be right based upon the selector. Ian didn't mention it though.
I have the Semi-Auto and even without a brace/stock, the pistol configuration is surprisingly controllable with a regular two-handed pistol grip.
The fact that the thumbnail face is just a mere flash at the end of the video and less than a second long is great.
Something I forgot to comment on the other video was my surprise at just how modern this modern SMG is. I had no idea it was made in the last like 15ish years.
Evo3 is awesome a really nice gun and it handles like a dream :) I was hoping Ian would get his hands on one for a while :D In fact Evo3 is the gun that got me into shooting as a hobby :D When i hadled one i instantly knew - "yup that is it - i want one for myself" :D
I had previously thought it would be impossible to hate Ian more than I already did. But as the owner of an SBR'ed, suppressed Evo 3S1, I find that I was severely mistaken in that belief. 😪
I want.... So... Badly....
For anyone else that watches Psych, Ian pulling out a D50 has the same energy as Shawn going "does anybody have any binoculars-oh wait I have some in my pocket."
Ian's grin at the end is amazing.
Even if you have to compromise on practicality it's always a plus to incorporte the option to HK slap, it looks cool and makes the other guy hesitate to see and enjoy the slap when you run out of amme and start to reload and then you get the jump on him when you switch it up and just release and shoot him in the face...Good thing Marco didn't have that option, would have ruined a good movie.

My little bit of constructive feedback: I like the addition of subtitles 👍
I don't know why more CZcams videos don't have them, but I also don't know how adding subtitles works - I'm guessing it's a mission. Either way, I like using the non-auto generated subtitles when I can 😄
This brings joy.
Ohhhh Ian did the HK slap with a Czech gun!! I did like when you pulled out the drum mag though.
It is effectively delayed blowback, since it's hammer fired. The hammer acts as a lever delay mechanism.
The grip angle though, it breaks my wrist just looking at it.
