Inexplicably found himself thrown to the ground on the other side of the ridge. It took several seconds for his nervous system to register what has happened. He was shoved aside by an Imperator class titan that now emerged from his hiding space in the nearby strawberry bush, carefully infiltrated there by some kind of tactical genius..... and then the last thing he heard were the muffled screams of massacred Nightlords. CREEEEEED
Strawberry bush, in Cadia ? The seeds are probably grenades, the juice is aid and it can double as a fragmentation grenade. Cadians wouldn't dedicate open space for agriculture otherwise.
*Rho:* "You can't go wrong diving into old school codexes"
*Me:* "Sounds legit, let see what we have here, the codex of some space dwarfs called SquAAAAAARGH........."
*Eversor agent:* "Heretic eliminated, the tome of forbidden knowledge has been seized, Lord Inquisitor"
Isn't a Squaaaargh when the squats run out of space beer and go on a rampage?
pro tip: you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Kendrick Elliott Definitely, I've been using flixzone for since december myself :D
Aged well!
Great, i was re-watching "Guilliman promotes dante" for the twenty twelfth time, and now you bless us with a new upload!
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta bump those numbers up!
Dude same ! :D
I watched some of his videos more than a dozen times :D
That and roboute meets mortarion and the anchorite for me
@@treasurecave431 for me its especially "the emperor of mankind goes to war "
I was just watching a honey badger eating a turtle. Still ended up here too hmm, destiny.
Guardsmen stories more interesting to me than most Space Marine ones. Space Marines get the best, Imperial Guard gets what they get... but BOTH have to serve. My respect goes to the normal soldiers
Space marines are very physically and mentally powerful. Guardsman are way out of their depth and under equipped to boot. So it takes a mix of quick wit, skill and uncommon sense for them to survive, which I think can lead to more interesting tales.
Aye the space marines get the glory, but they never had to hold off swarms of tyranids with a flashlight, a prayer, and the next scared bastard next to them.
KaiserAfini they aren’t necessarily under equipped, they have weapons that are quite effective, when used against the targets they normally face. When you shoot at massive monsters, armored super soldiers, or many other horrors, they are less effective, but still able to get kills. And that’s just the lasgun.
Love guardsmen stories where they go toe to toe with traitor astartes and manage to take them on through guile and wits (not to mention some luck). I remember one of the Gaunts Ghosts novels where his squad went up against a couple of chaos marines. The abuse the marines took before they got put down was something else. Hot shot long las rounds aimed at the neck joint of the helmet taking one guys helmet off and even then he was a beast. Great fun to read.
The guard hold the line.
Everybody gangsta until the shadow starts screaming like your buddies
The old books are what got me into 40k in the first place, thanks to stories like this. They made, uh, quite an impression on my younger self.
"You absolutely cannot go wrong diving into some old school codexes"
Alright then, going to open the 5th edition grey knights codex! :D
Night Lords = an army of immortal 8ft tall Vlad The Impaller clones.
And their primarch is evil batman
@@retardcorpsman If that were true Curze would never lose. He would have figured out a way to defeat the Dark Gods by now.
@@boutinpowered8373 no he's just depressed cus he has seen the future and knows the ending to all of this. Which is why he committed suicide
Do you remember a story in white dwarf during the 90s, a group of scouts boarding a tyranid ship?
When i hear of cadian shock troops i think of CREED. Cadia stands!!
It once did after 13 Black Crusades, until GW went back and broke it.
no no it doesn't
Don't listen to these heretics. CADIA STANDS!
@@Spacefrisian
Cadia stands. In our hearts
I recently read/listened to the Cadia stands novel, and even though I was glad to get some night lords (even if it is only a minute part) I was hoping to see more. Especially after how they ended the night lords trilogy! Hopefully ADB does another novel or fingers crossed another trilogy about them during the black crusade!
The Imperial Guard definitely deserve some more shine because often in 40k the most human and everyday stories are found amongst the normal soldiers. I’ve been reading the Ciaphus Caine novels lately and they are hilarious and are full of info about the everyday shit that the soldiers get up to,it’s great reading
The Planet Broke Before the Guardsmen did.
Another fantastic video! love listening to the content while purging the galaxy on Stellaris
Tremble before the Lords of the Night.
A pleasure as always
I have to say everytime I take a break from 40k and then come back to it I feel as if I'm falling in love with the series all over again. Honestly nothing even compares and that includes Star wars as well and that is quite the achievement if I do say so myself...
What I liked about the two stories in Codex: Chaos was that the Hand of Darkness was resurrected years later as the weapon that the Planet Killer was built around.
I love all your uploads but this has been my favorite one in a while. Please do more guard vids!
One of the best WH40K lore channels .. keep up the great work .. The planet broke before the guard did
Always love the content *Rho*, great to listen to while plodding along, 40k is so rich with lore, Keep up the good work!
I love stories about the night lords ❤
You would think they would get bored of killing simple Guardsmen after 10,000 years.
You see, you have to make it fresh. Torment them differently, and hear their agony.
@@divine_follower7775 There's only so many "agonizing" ways you can kill a human being before you run out of options though especially if you do it on a constant basis for 10000 years.
Just imagine being a normal imperial citizen on a world being invaded by the Night Lords... the panic and terror around you. Would make a great book good from the perspective of a normal person.
I recently picked up a getting started Imperial Men box and a box of Tempestus Scions to March along side with my Dark Angels
Glad that Trazyn decided to collect Creed. Hopefully we got more from both of them.
Love the uploads. Really wish there were podcasts so I could listen while driving 🚗 😀😀😀
Love it keep it coming 👍
Lovin this site… Sweet Mercy👐🏾
I feel like there should be a story where some chaos space marines get their ass's banded to them by a bunch of veteran guardsman. Like a predator versus Arnold Schwarzenegger moment.
"We have come for you!"
You should do a passage from saturnine regarding jenetia Krole, really loved how she was portrayed in that book.
Or the ride out of the white scars. Both amazing reads.
Great vid Rho. You should do a showcase of the 2nd Ed. codexes
I imagine a more futuristic version of where the samurai wipe out the conscripts in the fog, in the Last Samurai.
In my opinion, the Night Lords have the saddest story second only to the World Eaters. Angron was altered by the Butcher's Nails and the Emperor knew of them and could have healed him but did not. The Emperor knew of Konrad's mental health issues, could have healed him as well but didnt. The fact that in both of these two sons, the Emperor showed a level of disregard is the true foundation of the Horus Heresy. With Angron, the Emperor basically said "Deal with it, grow up, move on!" But with Konrad, he said "I know you are in pain, sick in need of my help, but no, I will sit back and watch you slowly destroy your legion, your world and yourself!"
I my opinion that one act of the Emperor makes Konrad and the Night Lords, the original legion not the later legion loyal, they were exactly what the Emperor wanted them to be. Now later on, they did change from a noble idea of murder and terror to a unchecked terror and mayhem, total disregard of all the principals of the Imperium, just my opinion.
I would love to see a resurgence of the older loyal Night Lords come back to the Imperium to fight for the Imperium, providing their worth and loyalty for all to see. If you look back into history, every ruler needed and had an executioner and or that one general that was not like the rest, Konrad was that guy for the Emperor. So sad the in the end Konrad and his legion were thrown away.
WE HAVE COME FOR YOU!
Love how you mention he tried to get his bolter free from his severed arm. .... theres more parts of the story further in the codex if i remember correctly
Something is wrong...hmm... oop there's my arm. Dang it.
WIth a planet name like that, you had it coming XD
That is the dark grim Warhammer 40k I love.
Oh yessss
Oh wow, now this is EARLY
I remember this!!!
If anyone is interested in a good IG Novel give Imperial Glory a read. Absolutely incredible book, puts you right in the boots of a guardsman
Nurgle is trying to get to the wolf lord!!
it do be like that sometimes.
I wonder how many LED flashlights it would take to kill a knight in plate today.
For the glory of the legion hail the lord of the night
Second Ed 40k was so damn good
I am a Catachan man, being American and all, it seems to fit. Sly Marbo, Iron Hand Stracken, Carl Weathers, and Vasquez ALL are Catachans. . . Plus the audios give them an American accent!
Do more of this stuff from the past
Cadia stands for the imperium of man
The planet broke before the guard!
@@kasag37 horus broke before the emperor
The voice broke before the guard did!
Noice pp
Astra-Mili what?! You're in the guard son.
does anybone remember the fluff bible online before gw clamped down on it. it had all these little short stories that fill out the universe
I’d like to see the Cadians better armed with weapons that match their devotion & courage; plasma guns, melta guns, flamers, etc.
Can we get coverage of the Catachans and Harkin taking on the Night Lords?
I gave guilliman a virtual gift voucher!
12:01 An odd camera with a moving timer on a still frame.
Grimdark indeed....
Best. Legion.
Think they would be happy to settle as my second favorite legion
*no in blood angels, imperial fists, and ultramarines*
Love playing them.
Which of the countless times that the all bark night lords got wreckt up by cadians is this about?
Now do for it for the steel legion
Bring back The Lion, he taught the meaning of fear to the Nightlords!
He beat the piss out of them.
@@randomcenturion7264 Was that before or after he had to be saved after agreeing to a duel? From a guy who wanted to lose and to die?
@@boutinpowered8373 After. The night Lords still got shanked real good by the First.
More reason I gone with making my warhammer 40k uses elements from bunch of different 40k canons
Well going by sheer model count and stats, yeah the Cadians stood absolutely no chance, a single squad, 10 Guardsmen at most, though more likely 1 Sergeant, 2 Guardsmen, and 7 Conscripts, vs 2 squads of Chaos Space Marines, maybe 20 Space Marines in total, though as few as 10. Not to mention that the Night Haunters aren't known for picking targets that can fight back.
There were only 3 guardsmens, the others were local militias (not even PDF)
Ave Dominus Nox
From the original Chaos Codex?
Long before they worked out the stuff for the Gothic War it references?
Of couse Cadians have the guts.
Afterall, the planet broke not them.
Guard in general gets the short end of the stick to often, as they get to be background for space marine theatre. If you get a dedicated guard story, you can read wonderful tales of true heroes of the Imperium
Bunged up with a little cold???? Thats just the start, Nurgle worshipper!!!!
What year in the Imperial Calendar did this place? Was it mid-Imperium or just as the 13th Black Crusade was kicking off? And is the 13th still an ongoing War or has it ended?
This happened before the 13th Black Crusade, I really do not know if the 13th BC is still going on because Vigulis ended.
please do a death korps of krieg video
I am way to into 40K lore...
Hey Vsauce! Night lord fanboy here.
On cadia, we eat catachans for breakfast!
I'd say that every human faction have the shortstick compared to the Astartes. :'(
@5 you the real heros says ( home lander )
Curze's arms look short on that artwork?
I’m sure you know about StringStorm and their marvelous music, but all I’m gonna say is- CADIAN BLOOD PAID THE PRICE! THE PLANET FELL BROKE THE GUARD! I’m not even a Guard player and I respect they hell out of them.
Correction: “The Planet broke before” Damn my sausage fingers.

Cadians what is your profession.
HUuuu!!!!!!
Meanwhile: guy 1: Traitor nightlords well should we let our imperium of man opposite have all the fun or should we ask the nightlords legion and the world eaters to go help the cadins out
Guy 2: ehh I'm not going to fill out paperwork and ask the high lords for permission for that so no
Cadins and militiamen: screams of agony and pain
I'm sorry but English pls.
@@lordfarquad8913 auto correct and this is English
I wonder what qualifies an overweight guardsman. Or even how they got there to begin with on protein paste once a week
The patrol were not real guardsmen. They were local militia with day jobs.
So they probably get even less rations. Most imperial citizens find moving to the imperial guard as an upgrade. Especially on terrible worlds.
@@garrettmastantuono8043
Define « most »
On an hive world it might be possible that many could be malnourished yes, although not always, this is mainly due to the sheer populations of such worlds
But on others types of worlds? You have civilized worlds which are the most common in the Imperium and which have roughly earth equivalent tech level and populations where peoples probably eat enough to satiate hunger and maybe even become overweight if they overindulge
On a feral world its a different story but mostly because whatever you’ll eat will invariably be used to fuel your body for gruelling hours of walking and hunting rather than be stored as fat
2nd ed, then you played guard to look cool as shit but your tanks blew up at the first sign of gunfire

Not a fan of how chaos these night lords are
I am sorry, but did I hear correctly? Overweight factory workers and militiamen?
Arbite: That’s the governor’s problem.
If he meets the tithe theres no problem for us.
However you are disrupting more important operations by reporting on such useless informations to us. Judgement is death.

Pff who need`s Cadia if one can have Krieg?
Well they need SOMEONE to haul supplies for them.
😂👍
Personally- I'd agree if the fan base didn't shit on Space Marines and gloat too much ego about how the guardsmen are the real Hero's. No offense, but for as long as they act like that- Their cannon foughter with a pitiful delusion of their purpose.
No offense, to Rho. I swear.
Damn heretical viruses.
The Night Jobbers are the most pathetic traitors tbh
damn it really is possible for someone to have a wrong opinion. thats crazy.
Why? They inflict terror, specialise in fast attack and against poor leadership and mobs they are amazing.
Shane Donnelly if you read Night Lord books then you would know how wrong you are
The 8th and 12th (Night Lord's, World Eaters) are the only legions who embrace what they were created for...
I'd personally say the Word Bearers are the most pathetic with the Night Lords being the most pragmatic and reasonable
