- In this video we're listening to more from Band-Maid. We are certainly enjoying the great music that these ladies have to offer. This one was literally asking us to (LOL). So, we're excited to check it out. Enjoy!

Thank you for responding to "Choose me", it was fun. Regarding this song, the studio version is better in terms of sound quality, but it is a video that proves that the members can demonstrate their talent live. I expect you to respond to more and more songs.
As a testament to Saiki"s vocal strength, this was the tour finale.. And they had a concert the night before! And they averaged 24 songs a concert!
That's quite a load. We hope they don't burn out.
@@hanierfamily Me too. A fan totaled their concerts from 2016 to 2019. They were averaging over 60 concerts a year. In one of those years they did about 100 concerts! The forced hiatus during COVID had a bright spot. Of course they didn't let up once things started up again. They did 14/15 concerts during their month long tour of the US last year.
Saiki deserves her reputation -- in fact, all of the members do!
"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic.
Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are, along with The Warning band, almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Here's a great, better studio mixed MV of "Choose Me" that's more punchy: czcams.com/video/MZIJ2vFxu9Y/video.html Thx, Hanier Fam!
The Netflix movie Kate had a cameo of the Maids performing this song. Also an episode of Peacemaker used it as background music.
Choose me is imo the perfect radio friendly commercial banger. Not my top 20 favorite but it's just super catchy, I can't deny it😂
They had a cameo in the Netflix film KATE with this along with BLOOMING used in a car chase scene. CHOOSE ME is also on the show PEACEKEEPER soundtrack.
The Maids gave a scene stealing performance in "Kate". Gold Pigeon statuettes for all.🙂
Whoo hoo, I'm famous now :) ... thanks for the reaction to an awesome song... awesome band!
Thanks for accommodating my request. I do like this live version, but the studio version was played in the Netflix assassin movie, Kate (2021) which Band-Maid made a performance cameo and is also how I discovered them. Definitely worth a reaction as well. But add these to your must-react list:

Congrats on the shout out Mr Skull Angel. 🤔 I'm guessing "Mr" cos you're not wearing a red or blue rose in your skull :)
Thanks Guys! Great song!
Main complaint about this concert recording is Kanami's lead being too quiet.
Yes, Kanami's guitar is definitely brought out more in the Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo concert performances.
Early 2000's pop-rock played at a level of talent never reached by early 2000's pop-rock bands. The music this is reminiscent of didn't have shredding solos like this. For that reason it is terribly nostalgic for me as it comes from my highschool years yet is also incredibly refreshing and unique because it has that next level instrumentation. They are special in that they come from a world where rock evolved after the mid 2000's instrumentally instead of going extinct only to be replaced with autotuned synth-pop like it did in this world. God bless the multiverse traveling maids.😋
Oddly, it was a trip to Japan that gave me back my love of music. Nothing to do with Band-Maid, although I am a big fan now, but because I went to the city of Kanazawa, and to an area of tiny bars, maybe 60 or so in a tight area, each seating maybe 6-10 people. While I was there in one bar, they just handed over their laptop and gave me control of the music played that evening, picking songs from CZcams. Because I wasn't just playing for me, I had to really think about songs from a variety of bands, mainly from my youth, or even before - a lot like a lot of the stuff you are getting into here. It made me really want to (later) check out bands I kind of liked or had barely heard of, but thought I might like. That did eventually lead me to checking out Band-Maid, which opened a door to so many other bands. There's so much talent over there. As as example, he's a track by a very small band called The Tomboys, called "Wake Up" czcams.com/video/h0kc5KMcoyg/video.html It has a real classic rock feel to it, yet still sounds fresh and modern.
When you get a chance check out the Official Music Video *Kanami's* guitar comes out nice a clear plus it is a great video. 😊
Congrats on the shout out VamBot.👍
Now, how about reacting to some of Band Maid's more recent stuff: the (fairly) new live version of "Puzzle" from the Tokyo Garden Theater [Blu-Ray/DVD of the whole show due out on 4/26]; "Hate?", "I'll" or "Hibana" (originally released on 10/27/21) form "Unleash"; the MV (not the live) for the song "Warning"? Also, thank you for doing reactions to some of "Dr. Feelgood's" material -- not something that every Canadian or American reactor would cover. Shalom, y'all!
For me it is currently the best group, with Nemophila, after Lovebites
We're going to have to check out Nemophila some time.
Antera77 recorded the LA concert with a shure mic connected to an iphone. Choose Me was one of the songs she recorded.
Great to see you back with Band Maid reactions !
Let`s Enjoy other songs!
In Japan, 'maid' fashion is so popular that there are many 'maid-cafe'. ^ー^🌺^ー^🌺
We saw a report on that once.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Kanami 🔥🤘❤️
Oh man, I loooved the first 'Shrek' movie and was totally OCD'ing on it after getting the DVD 😄 And I quite enjoyed this song, too! 😊
I responded to your comment on Curiosity Show and bringing Teddy Bears into the studio... but the comment is not visible for you to read! I have to log out just to check!
@@liveitup67 - Yes, I've meanwhile noticed that some comments become visible to me only much, much later! A lot of the time there's no notification via gmail either 🙄 I usually click 👍 after reading someone's comment, also to confirm having read it 🙂 I did read your message about the teddy bears (And that was it?? No deeper, psychological meaning to that phenomenon?! 😅😉) but not yet your 'Curiosity Show' one.
@@mightyV444 Unfortunately, Robert Hughes (the dad) was more interested in the younger daughter rather than the older one.
You got the 'Curiosity Show' in Germany? Amazing! Hayley and I used to watch that show in the late 70's/early 80's.
We would do a mock sing-along to the theme song, and end the song with our best ''shoo!''. The theme song changed later on.
We also had a show called ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'', and of course, we went to the channel 9 studio to be part of the audience. And we also liked Simon Townsend's Wonder World. INXS's first TV appearance was on that show, and I thought ''Simple Simon'' was a really lame tune. STWW sometimes exposed a band before Countdown got them. And I also liked Monkey Magic, Secret Valley and Wombat hosted by Gillian and Gayle Blakeney (thank goodness Hayley wasn't named Gayle). Using Cynthia's words, it was ''so much fun'' being a kid in Australia in the early 80's. We'd also go to Luna Park..
Why am I telling you all this? How could this be interesting to you? lol
@@mightyV444 It's because my comments fall into their pending comments section, and they have to retrieve.
@@liveitup67 - Oh, really? I'd never heard of that pending comments section before! But there must also be some other weird stuff happening, because your teddy bears comment vanished not long after I'd read it! By the way: Savage Garden - What in the world were you thinking when you produced THAT crap, Australia?? 😅
BMforLife is either a really big fan of Babymetal, Band Maid or pooping.
Baron Munchausen?
Kanami's guitar being too low has been a common complaint, especially from the earlier songs. Not sure if she wasn't as confident then, or if she kept it deliberately low so as not to overpower Miku and or the Backing Tracks. She does seem louder recently especially in songs like 'Influencer' and their new instrumental, 'From Now On'.
Probably just a mixing issue. It likely would have sounded fine for the audience but got ignored by mistake on the recording. They likely use different boards for front of house than they would to record it.
Would you expect anything less from the best live rock band on the planet?
Hello...Hanier family,good you're react 👍

Pop/Punk. The video for this show is notorious for it's poor mix re. Kanami's guitar, especially during the early part of the show.
