Very helpful just tightened my vacuum pump yesterday with threadlock. No more leaks, and the bottom two screws were about finger tight. Thanks!!
Awesome. Glad to help. Thanks for watching.
Watched this video and by far you did the best on explaining and showing the process. Thank you

saved me time and money. my leek came from thisa not the front seal. thanks to this information i took care of the oil leek i had. thanks allot
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching
Love the wrist band!
Great video!! Took me about 30 minutes! Piece of cake. 3/8 swivels comes is handy big time for the bottom fan bolts
Better than a Chiltons. Thanks for the video. So glad I don't have to pull everything off the front end. Great recording by the way. Could actually see everything
Damn, that’s a good compliment there “better than chiltons”. Thanks
Thanks for the info because of your information and your video I was able to change this in the parking lot of a hotel with no issues and minimal tools
Flashlight is ur best friend and ratchet wrench for the two lower bolts
That’s what I’m here for. Glad it was a help.
Good stuff, bro. I did the same thing with the fan assembly and idler pulley. Most guys are pulling the fan apart from the idler pulley.
Yea I do t ever see any need in taking more apart than necessary. Thanks for watching hope it helped.
Keep those videos coming!!...
I have a question I replaced my vacuum pump but have you ever heard of oil in the vacuum lines because after I replaced my vacuum pump my brake booster went out as well and i had oil in my brake booster and then in the battery tray there's a vacuum Reservoir attached to the bottom of battery tray there was oil all inside i did drain the oil.....do you know if you have to replace all the vacuum lines because I can't find anything anybody talking about it... I did let the vacuum lines drain out the leftover oil that was dripping out of them I don't know if this is going to affect my brake booster if i use the same vacuum lines.....
Thank you
Arthur
Awesome Channel very informative I just replaced my vacuum pump on my 2016 6.7 liter diesel truck I have a question I was putting on my new vacuum pump and then I didn't have a torque wrench but I tighten them by hand I think I went over the 89 inch ft pounds maybe to tight...... from your experience what would happen if I over tighten them and do I need to go back and loosen the bolts and buy me a torque wrench and retighten them to the torque specifications or should I leave it alone.....
Thanks..... Arthur
@@arthurcastaneda9969 I would prefer a torque wrench but I’d rather have them good and tight than loose like before

Awesome video! The best one in my opinion!!!
Thanks for commenting and keep watching.
Thanks!
Great video, thanks. Did you have to remove the fan?
Yea in the video I showed removing it
Nice video, but can you give torque specs for the long idler pulley bracket bolts???
36ft lbs is what I torque them. Thanks for watching. Love your profile pics btw.
@@AutomedicGarage You're welcome, and thank you for responding so fast and also for the video... I think I will sub your channel since "like minded people" have to support one another...
What are the torque values for the vacuum pump bolts?
great informative vid!
I am a little unclear on the tensioner/belt part....does the tensioner just unbolt and relive pressure of the belt?
Yes, tensioner places tension on the serpentine belt. You relieve the tension by placing a 3/8 ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole and pry it in the direction to relieve tension off the belt then slide the belt off.
Great video, I was actually completely missing a bolt, and the other 3 were very loose.... any idea if there are part numbers for those little suckered? Ford is no help
Call Homet Skelton Ford in Millington Tn and ask for Kenny. Best parts guy EVER. He will find you a part number. He actually got me a part number for some bolts yesterday so I could figure out the thread pitch.
Also I did buy a brand new brake booster with the master cylinder and a new vacuum pump everything was installed but I was just curious if I do use the same vacuum lines that had oil in them even though they have been drying out for the last week....will this cause any damage if I use the same vacuum lines since I already have a new brake booster thank you
had the same thing replace them any oil contmation in lines will ruin the boster I learned the hard way
Just curious cant tell in video does the fan and pullys stay together when disassembling when u push it towards the radiator?
Yea I never remove the fan from the mount unless I’m doing a fan clutch.
Love the channel , can you do a video of your white 7.3 ?
It actually needs some work, anything in particular?
@@AutomedicGarage maybe all what you have done to it?
I kinda wish they would show what the oil leak pattern looks like
Got my seal and new vacuum lines in the mail today about to see how loose those bolts are on the pump. Just a question for y'all out there, were your vacuum lines as brittle as mine? They are crumbling, up behind the coolant rez. on mine
I have not seen them that way before.
@@AutomedicGarage ok that's why I asked. Not brittle down by the pump only brittle up by the reservoir bottle. Must've gotten hot at some point. Just wanted to make sure the lines weren't crap. Don't think that's the case. Seems like engine degreaser or heat got on them
about how long to do the job start to finish ? great video
2-3 hrs
@@AutomedicGarage thank you for the video and info. Also the fan mount plate bolts, what was the torque spec in them?
@@ryanwalsh5305 18 ft lbs
Are all the bolts going from the fan bracket the same length or did you have to number them in shank length to install back in correct hole?
From memory I believe they are the same but I can’t promise
I'm going to tackle this issue on my truck this weekend. Curious though when you pull the fan assembly back into the shroud, how did you ensure the fan wouldn't damage the radiator?
I just gently set the fan down in the shroud and make sure I don’t push it up hard against the radiator. Thanks for watching.
I caught the drop and bang and had the same question 😂😂
Hello, the brakes on my truck were working fine before we replaced the fuel system, after we put everything back together, the brake pedal is hard and there’s no vacuum coming out of the pump, we DID NOT install the gasket bc the pump has a O-ring flat type of gasket on it, could that be the reason of why were not getting any vacuum?
If your not producing vacuum then yes
@@AutomedicGarage Thanks a lot!
@@AutomedicGarage My brakes are working now, installed new vacuum pump, problem solved, thanks a lot! 🍻
It has a gasket from the factory. I showed it in the video and I always replace it
How the hell did you get to the bottom two? I sat for atleast 10 min thinking of a way not to take out anything else. I heard you say the one on the passenger side you got from the bottom. But the driver side seems difficult to get without taking the fan shroud off
It wasn’t bad. Passenger side lower was the worst. Milwaukee m12 fuel ratchet did the job just fine with a wobble socket. I’m assuming your referring to the driver side lower fan bracket bolt.
@@AutomedicGarage yes that’s the one. Looks like I’m gonna have to invest in one then lol. I got to the passenger bottom one but i could barely get a bite on it to break it loose. Hardly any room to get leverage. The driver side is a bare. I’ll be trying again next weekend. Thanks for the reply. Your video helped a ton 🤜🤛
milington MI?
Is there a work order or recall for ford to fix their screw up?
As far as I know there isn’t even though it’s a known problem
We're are u located at
Arlington tn
I got an oil leak also do I have drain the oil first.
No you don’t have to drain the oil for this repair.
Does the seal have to be replaced?
No it’s usually in fine shape, my view is if you’ve gotten far enough into that t to access all the bolts why not replace the gasket and know 100% it’s right.
What torque wrench are you using and where do you have the setting at
It’s a Tekton 1/4” inch lb torque wrench. I would have to look the torque specs up.
@@AutomedicGarage oh k cuz I had bought on from Amazon nd I use it yesterday nd I broke a bolt with it I had it set at 90lbs so now I have to see how I’m going to do it to take it out. The good thing it didn’t brake on the bottom it was the one on the side any help on that to get it out
@@AutomedicGarage I didn’t replace the gasket on it I just took it apart nd clean it nd put it back together nd put lock tight on the bolts but it is still leaking u thing it’s the gasket that’s no good any help
On that
@@labluediamond could be, did you take the cover off the pump?
@@labluediamond those are pot metal bolts, you were torquing the vacuum pump bolts to 90 ft lbs
Who wears another man's name on their wrist lol
It cracks me up getting comments like this. If a wrist band in a CZcams video gets you bent out of shape I’m at a lose for words other than that’s sad.
