Cool! For Pete’s sake wear safety glasses when using air tools or just poking around under a vehicle. All it takes is one chunk of gunk or a metal sliver to screw up your eyes. Had to have a ophthalmologist grind a sliver of metal out of my eyeball after the er couldn’t flick it out

Thanks for posting this video. The noise I'm having, is the noise you were getting when you had the t-case out and moving the shaft back and forth, but mine is doing it when you let off and coast. My noise goes away when I shift into 4 high.

Thanks for the video! I have a 6.0 and was attempting to check the a/c compressor clutch but when I turn the truck to the on position with a/c on the clutch doesn't engage lock up so I can't break the bolt loose to check the shims. Any tips or information is greatly appreciated! Also it does engage when I crank the truck up.
@@hinds90 hold the nut on the balancer while you loosen the ac clutch nut
@@AutomedicGarage thank you I'll give it a shot after work. I think I'm having a brain fart though. Balancer as in crank pulley? Just trying to understand how it'll lock it up for me to loosen the nut for the A/C clutch.
Very good idea, sir. I have the 1/4 tank issue. I just ordered a new fuel sending unit from XDP. Whenever I'm parked in my sloped driveway, I get the low fuel light. I figure the vehicle is 24 years old, so it's s due. I like your idea better. I'll have to add this to mine.
THAT WAS A LOT OF WORK.....NOT DIFFICULT SINCE YOU HAVE DONE THESE BEFORE.....BUT STILL A LOT OF WORK.....GREAT VIDEO.....
@@councilquirks6601 thanks bud. Ruptured oil coolers suck
I haven't been able to find the answer... The DCR is only warranted by S&S for two years (no matter the miles). With that short warranty, are they expecting failures down the road? And if the DCR fails, will it send metal shrapnel into the fuel system like a CP4? If so, I'd rather stick with my CP4 and a Disaster Prevention Kit. The DCR has only been on the market for a short while, and has been installed on relatively few trucks when compared to Ford. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out when many a few hundred thousand have been installed and they start to see some real mileage.
@@ZonaJim I’m not sure I would say a few cause I’m doing at least 1 a week here now. It puts out better pressure than the cp4 and if you’ll look up a demonstration of a cp3, cp4 and dcr comparison the dcr is the least violent of a cam profile for running the pump with the cp4 being a super aggressive cam. That alone shows me the reliability part. Now take into a account that s&s has shown and run test with water and trash contaminated fuel with no failures and if you have the slightest amount of water with a cp4 it will shred itself apart then I think your reliability answer is right there.

I just ran into the same issue with the BPD oil cooler bracket and the larger trans cooler. Where did you get the replacement trans cooler brackets to lower it? Doesn’t look like BPD sells them.
@@MountaineerMontero he bought everything from bpd including the brackets.
Newb here. I have a 1972 renagade with original Dana 30 front that someone removed the axles and the center gear including loosing all parts. Are the 2 bolt bearing caps or retainer halves available. ? I had the hole housing cleaned and have just about all new parts but the two retainer halves that hold center gear set in.
@@chuckhooper5215 so from what I’ve always understood those are bored with the axle center section so you have a “true” bearing mating surface. Now with that being said I would try to find the caps and if you do I would see how they fit with a center section bolted in.
Yes I have had several tell me same on line bore. Also I think and agree it’s how it seems to fit .lets face it these units are relatively crude abs far as tolerance.. I wonder if all the gear sets in years of Dana 30 hold same diameter bearing specifications that fit in those retainer surfaces . If I could get my hands on the halves then I could have a machine shop check the fit. . I’ve already spent to clean prep housing. I gues I could go to bone yard if the retainer halves arnt availble.

I have an issues with 1999 F350 7.3 not wanting to start. When first cranking truck up in the morning there is a clicking noise. Sounds like its coming from the fuse panel under steering column inside truck. After three or four times cranking truck over click goes away and it will start. After that point its starts any time, but once it sits overnight same issues in the morning, seems to be getting worse. Any help would be greatly be appreciated. Your videos are awesome by the way!!!
