Now for the encouragement! Slow down. Lol. How’s that for some encouragement… I have noticed it in my life that when I am rushed, or pressured with an impulse moment, I tend to do things I wouldn’t do ordinarily. Don’t get me wrong, some things require you to make a quick decision, but for the majority of the things we do, don’t be afraid to take a moment, collect your thoughts, do a pro & cons list and then make a sound decision! I know this sounds redundant but it’s real… Our decisions lead to our actions. Our actions lead to our habits and our habits lead to our future… well what comes before decisions… That’s where thought comes into play and it’s worth your time to slow down, even if for a minute, or a week! There is nothing wrong with that! 2 Tim 1:7 says God has given us the spirit of Sound Mind… This means that we make decisions with self control and that only happens when we control ourselves lol. Anyways, this seems like a weird encouragement but it was something I have needed lately and want to encourage you in that too! Don’t let pressure or fear lead you into a decision you wouldn’t make if you had time to make a sound minded decision.

As someone who’s watched you guys “from a distance” over the years, I’ve found myself from time to time feeling like there are moments of forced or a false sense of positivity in certain responses or conversations. BUT the authenticity in this video felt the most I’ve seen from Chad in particular. I don’t make that statement in criticism but as more as an encouragement to keep tapping into that. It’s 100% reaching a deeper level that other spouses/future spouses need to reflect on! Thank you for speaking your truth in love and letting us see these intimate parts of your marriage!

I love what Chad said about still figuring things out. Honestly that’s the Christian walk. It’s hard to be satisfied with what you know/achieved so far and even to be satisfied with your purpose because know you have the mind of Christ, there’s so much you could do, it’s overwhelming. These are the moments where we leave in in God’s hands and allow Him to be God. He has already figured out everything for us and anytime I feel like “this” is way bigger than me, and I acknowledge that I don’t know what I’m doing, I tell God and He lifts that burden off my heart. The Christian wall/life is REAL. It’s a REALITY. God is with us. Yes we cannot see Him but He is actively walking with us, which makes life more bare able/ enjoyable. I say embrace that and sink into His Sovereignty. See how God has given you both a Son, in the midst of figuring out how you would get one. Let that speak to you that God will always sort it out and do what you cannot do. Keep on having faith and doing your part. Do the part that you DO know! And God will handle the rest. After all since Christ resurrected, we have been called into His rest.❤️🙏🏾

Every time you post a video I'm so excited to watch them and I always leave feeling very peaceful and encouraged, it's the best feeling and it brings me so much energy. I'm learning so much from you guys as an 18 yo figuring out adulthood and life and I'm really thankful for you! You are such an example for me and I feel so much more prepared for the next seasons I'm gonna face, but also encouraged to act on it now and take steps towards who I wanna be and who I am to others. Oh I loveee these types of videos!! I always rewatch them and you guys are always so honest, love that! Chad the description is brilliant - and I actually did a talk about slowing down to some college students recently! but it was more about slowing life down. Feel like college students are in such a hurry to graduate and settle down and have a family but it becomes so easy to miss the beauty of being IN the learning process. I've started carving in slow mornings into my day because healthcare is such a busy field in itself, I think its important to have time to appreciate just having breath in your lungs and being alive! Oddly enough I've found it useful to not read or listen to sermons or anything, I just go on a walk and watch the same people get ready for work, the same mailman, same dog walkers etc. Its so comforting to have some consistency to slow down the start of my day. Love you guys so much, I could ramble on about this with y'all all day haha 😂💛💛

The Purpose vs purpose explanation was so spot on! So true - the Bible outlines our 'general' calling as believers in the guidance on how to live - its so easy to bypass this for our unique calling that's aligned to our gifts. But agree both are so important and a lot of the time living in accordance with our purpose can prepare and mature us for our Purpose.

It's super true that you can't keep anything to yourself because whatever doesn't come out (healthily or unhealthily) in conversation comes out in your spirit & attitude. My husband is the 'avoid conflict' kind of personality & i'm the complete opposite so he often just won't communicate his thoughts/feelings with me but I can ALWAYS tell when there's some thought or emotion that he's withholding from me.
I loove you guys so much! Your honesty and light that comes from inside is everything! Always watching your videos with a pure joy and I get so much precious information for my life. Is there such a thing as "overcommunication?" Yes, and no. In general, when you are married, between the husband and wife, the more communication the better. However, if there is a SPECIFIC issue that you cannot seem to fully resolve, you CAN overcommunicate on THAT SPECIFIC ISSUE, to the overall detriment of your relationship. The best answer in those specific cases is generally to seek outside counsel and advice (and mentorship) to help the pair of you navigate a resolution that works for you both -- and avoids the potential pitfalls of overthinking, and focusing on what you want instead of what's going to work for you both. That's my opinion, and it's totally worth what you paid for it! 😁 Great video!!

It’s hard for a man when the baby first comes along as now that baby will be number one in your wife’s eyes but as you as a man gets the contact and the love with your baby you will start to understand and your children will always be the number one. Have you guys done a video on your testimonies? I started walking with Jesus at 17. Its been a hard road. Speaker and writer Annie F Downs says we shouldnt label Thomas a doubter but I am a doubter. It is hard for me to believe in Jesus. Easier to believe in God. I appreciate your channel. Even on the days its hard to digest Christianity. I understand testimonies are incredibly personal so if you dont plan on sharing them I understand. Have had this idea to ask the Christians I know or know of why they believe. Thus the question.
Chad, as someone who struggles with stammering/blocking as well, would you be willing to share how you've dealt with this?
Hey Andrew! this is of course hard to respond too over comments, so feel free to email me if that helps! I know struggling with this since I was 7 it goes much deeper than a simple comment but here are some things that helped me... I noticed my stammer increase when I was nervous, around people I don't know or had too many thoughts going through my head... I think there were other issues as well, but those stood out to me. So what I do is try to rectify those.. For example if my stammer spiked when I was nervous speaking around people then I would practice speaking around people to help that not be something i struggle with as much. I also have learned to slow myself down to not let too many thoughts go through my head and I do my best to put myself out there so I feel comfortable communicating with new people. It's an intentional effort for sure. For the other times when it pops up, I've just learned to hide it.. I will make it appear as though I am thinking about what I'm saying when I'm definintely not hahah Another thing thing I worked on was not beating myself up over it..

I use some of the same strategies, like acting as if I am thinking about what to say. I really do not notice it in your videos, is it something you still deal with?
